What do you like best about Amazing Marvin?

Marvin is the best digital time management system I've ever used. So intuitive, customizable, and beautifully designed. Every single aspect has been well-thought-out for user experience. Easy transition from other systems. It takes a slight learning curve to get the most out of it, but so worth it. It is not only free, but it also works with all the devices. What do you dislike about Amazing Marvin?

I really like the idea of it, but there are places where it needs tweaks. When you schedule events, you should be able to make recurring events in addition to routine tasks. I also tried to swipe forward to future dates, and now it refuses to sync accurately with my account. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Amazing Marvin solving and how is that benefiting you?

If you're searching for a "to do list"/"project management" type app, you need to try Marvin. I wish I had found this app earlier in what seems like my never-ending search to find an app that complements the way I work. Marvin takes (what is surprising) a unique approach (nowadays) by providing users with so many options users are bound to create an app for themselves which is as unique as the way they work is. What do you like best about Amazing Marvin?

What do you dislike about Amazing Marvin?

Sometimes it gets overwhelming but that's only because I tend to overload it with many to-do's and it gets stressful. Also They don't have EVERY SINGLE option, even though they have so many more than every other productivity app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Amazing Marvin solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps me complete my tasks and projects needed to get done in a timely manor. I've actually completed most of my tasks in a shorter amount of time than i would have by just memory. Its helpful to my OCD. I've tried hard to find just the right task manager but none of them seem to fit what I need. What do you like best about Amazing Marvin?

The customization possibilities using strategies. The ability to make it what I need, instead of what the developers decide I need. The clean UI. The syncing across devices, including being able to use a browser. The responsiveness of the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Amazing Marvin?

Nothing. I have looked for years for a GTD / time management / time tracking tool that would work for me, and have tried pretty much every one of them. (Try me.) Amazing Marvin is the end of the search; it is the tool I will use from now on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

No matter which methodology or tool you prefer, Amazing Marvin can be set up to match it. In fact, they have preset configurations for many of the popular GTD / time mgt tools out there.

"After experimenting with many tsk management apps I was happy to find Marvin"

What do you like best about Amazing Marvin?

This is the most flexible and adjustable app for managing tasks. I started using it with GTD scenario, but then evolved to approach which suited me better. It is filled with hundreds of "strategies" that could be turned on depending on your preference. I really enjoy playing with them to constantly improve my task managing process. What do you dislike about Amazing Marvin?

After over year of using this app I haven't found anything that I really dislike. One thing that needs to be kept in mind is that this app is quite young. Some functions are still being developed. What do you like best about Amazing Marvin?

Amazing Marvin is a powerful, flexible, feature-rich to-do app. It starts from the principle of day planning, and allows the user to enable different "strategies" to facilitate their workflow. Examples include time tracking, the GTD Weekly Review, notifications, time blocking, calendar view, planning ahead, "soft" deadlines, and many, many others. Smart Lists deserve special mention: these are dynamic lists of tasks/projects matching certain (programmable!) criteria that are usable in a multitude of ways. Want to get an alert when there's a task within a particular project that is due this month, but hasn't yet been scheduled? Marvin's got you covered.

Amazing Marvin's design and features draw heavily on research into productivity, and aim to make completing tasks as frictionless as possible. Because of the option to enable only the strategies you use, Marvin is powerful without feeling cluttered or overwhelming. Its visuals are both pleasing and highly customizable.

The developers are incredibly active, responsive, and engaged with their users. New features and improvements are rolled out every few days to weeks.

What do you dislike about Amazing Marvin?

There are currently no multi-user collaboration features, so Marvin works best as a personal system, not for teams. However, collaboration features are on the developers' roadmap.

The system can be a little slow and heavy. Again, improvements are planned for this.

For people who don't enjoy tinkering with their productivity system, Marvin may be too complex and too pricey. For people who do enjoy such tinkering, there's nothing that compares. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Amazing Marvin solving and how is that benefiting you?

I used to switch between different to-do management and productivity apps multiple times a year - switching it up is just part of how I stay productive. I've tried different configurations of about 50 apps for managing todo's, time tracking, prioritization, incentivizing, and planning. Marvin has it all, and I intend to opt for the lifetime subscription once my current billing cycle is up. What problems is Amazing Marvin solving and how is that benefiting you?

Marvin's integrated calendar and planning options have made it easier for me to plan out my week in advance, not just my day. This is much more in-sync with what I try to follow from Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People." I also love that I have the ability to add multiple types of dates to tasks in Marvin: Due dates (deadlines), DO dates (days I've scheduled to work on a project), end dates (soft "artificial" due dates for the sake of planning), and even start dates (the tasks disappears from view until it is time to start working on it). Unlike Todoist, Marvin actually takes advantage of my screen real estate and allows me to see everything related to a project all in one place.

Notably, Marvin takes the todo list from the left side of the screen and puts it elsewhere (unless you don't want it to). This is called the Master List and I've discovered the value of having more customized daily views to work off of instead of having to see and manage the entirely of my project list.

The biggest pro for Marvin - and the biggest knock against Todoist - is the ability to see my projects and tasks in so may different ways. Todoist's recent decision to disable the ability to see sub-projects and their tasks when viewing a project is dumbfounding. It was this decision that led to my shopping around and finding Marvin.
