What do you dislike about Altair SimSolid?

There isn’t much scope for automation or for cutting down repetitive work. For instance, in every iteration I still have to create rigid bolts again, which quickly becomes tedious. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Altair SimSolid?

Much faster than traditional workflows. Meshless CAE helps with faster model setup, does not need extensive geometric cleanup, analysis time is super-fast, and allows spending more time on iterating designs. The interface is very intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Altair SimSolid?

It took some time to get used to the interface and workflow. Also, older versions had a few issues. Much improved now. Very good for product designers to jump on to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Altair SimSolid?

I can't say much of Altair SimSolid since I haven't had the opportunity to work with it. But for the last 6years I have been using Altair Hypermesh (formerly known as HyperWorks) and I can honestly say that is now my favorite FEA preprocessor. I am an avid FEA tool user (Ansys, Abaqus, LsDyna, etc...) and this is ALWAYS my favorite pre-processor. The old GUI complexity and ambiguity is gone. And the people at Altair are doing an amazing job integrating all the perks and tools of the old Hypermesh. It is not perfect and sometimes buggy, BUT still it is the best tool for FEA I have used in my 20+years of simulation experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Altair SimSolid?
