What do you dislike about Altair SimSolid?

The pricing and the splitting of the licensing were done some time ago. Also, not all “features” are described in the “help,” as they are limitations of the applied technology. It is not possible to edit geometry, not even to move parts. Post-processing cannot be automated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Altair SimSolid?

I find the "auto weld creator" in Altair SimSolid amazing, where the weld length can also be determined. It provides insight into the amount of welding in complex and large structures, which is useful for cost estimations. Additionally, the initial setup is very simple. What do you dislike about Altair SimSolid?

I find the post-processing really very laborious. I often have to adjust the legend and cannot compare two models side by side. I also find it difficult to combine SimSolid with other programs. It feels more like a 'quick and dirty' solution, while I use other solvers for more accurate or repetitive work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
