I like a lot there. The first impression: extremely clean GUI with multi-function icons replacing pull-down menus is a thrill. The actual topology optimization functionality is very decent. Probably the best program on the market to demonstrate what TO is about. I do have my wish list for additional design constraints, and I know that this engineering software class develops very quickly, so this is just a matter of time to see what I've been waiting for. I know that SolidThinking recommends to use Inspire only as a guide for the actual mechanical design, but I think that they undersell Inspire. With a better algorithm for transforming the TO results to CAD surfaces, this program is ready for a virtually final desing output. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Altair Inspire: Look around and check other TO programs like GENESIS with ANSYS and GTAM or TOSCA with Simulia to see how it compares.
