Novel user interface, icons that clearly illustrate engineering concepts, CAD-style interactions and behavior, easy to interpret and use results, a lot of intelligent features the CAE community has been wanting for years Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Some features and interactions not intuitive, Not always obvious when you have selected a tool and are in a particular 'context', Infrequent bugs and crashes, Compatibility with complex models can be iffy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Recommendations to others considering Altair Inspire: Inspire is a unique tool for CAE that bridges the gap between design and engineering nicely and allows for increased efficiency between these two disciplines. Designs and engineers alike benefit from the modern UI, which allows them to test and iterate before they dial in their CAD for manufacturability. Also is much more powerful than standard CAE tools included in things like solidworks and rhino, but not so intensive as software like Ansys, Siemens CAE, etc. Overall great tool that's worth adding to any design or engineering teams toolbox. User Interface is very good. It helps to clearly find the commands you need. Topology Optimization option helps to make design lightweight! You can do different values, experiment and see the results for better understanding or validation with FEA. Super easy to use Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Altair Inspire? Not so smooth results after implementing Topology Optimization on the CAD geometry: You might need to do additional smoothening steps. Unlike most engineering software which are difficult to learn and use, the solid thinking package offers good functionality with intuitive UI and rich documentation. Inspire hides a bunch of technical details that are relevant to generate good computational results. This may not be bad for a beginner. The tools are used by clicking specific parts of an icon on the toolbar, and the lack of details in the progress section for running simulations. I like the simplicity of the interface. You can import neutral files and work without difficulty. I like so much the possibility to run more load cases with one optimization.
