1. Altair hypermesh is capable of handling the complex geometries with ease.
2. Powerful software for FEA preprocessing with userfriendly interface.
3. Capable of simulating small FE models.

5. Capability to create the geometry for small design changes.

**What do you dislike about Altair Hypermesh?**

1. Options such as sectioning in mesh models for a local plane is not possible.
2. Sometime it may crash without asking for save. In such cases in most cases we cannot revtrive the lost work due to crash.

**What problems is Altair Hypermesh solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Altair Hypermesh will help to build the FE models & integrate the assemblies with precision. 
2. Unlike other softwares hypermesh has good user control to rebuild the models with FE models.
3. Hypermesh can simulate small FE analysis with limited entities without the help for dediacted solver. 
4. It supports interchangability between different user profiles like optistruct, abaqus, nastran.  we can covert FE models from one profile to other.

The visualisation bit and the UI look update is one of the best part. Also it literally supports all the solvers that you could imagine to use i guess it cant get any better till co-pilot is fully integrated trough out the software.

**What do you dislike about Altair Hypermesh?**

There not much to dislike if you start with Hypermesh from scratch but the information bit could be a bit better. For eg. there could be a better way to explain the tools and its uses better.

Compared to the counterparts like Ansys and Abaqus, it is easier to locally modify mesh using Hypermesh. There are so many nuanced feature to take good control of mesh of complex features.
Customer support is good. 
Integration of large assembly models are easier.
Ease of implementation is good.
It can be used quite frequently.

The user interface could be more intuitive and modern. It can sometimes be cluttered, making it harder to navigate for new users.

It has a lot of tools and that's very useful because i can perform a lot of different analysis according to my needs.

Sometimes it crashes, and also, I believe if there were more tutorials about using python that would be awesome because at the time I found its short.

I'm using it as an intern so i'm learning a lot about FEA Analysis and how to integrate ML and AI tool in real scenarios of the automotive industry.

The best thing in Hypermesh is his versatility and flexibility with mesh, especially if you have a particular area that has to be verified with the virtual simulation.

As I am a long time user of this software, I am still struggling to fully convert myself to a new Hypermesh GUI, I do find it still a bit confusing, but with patience and dedication the struggle will finish in near future.

**What problems is Altair Hypermesh solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Hypermesh for model preparation, simulations that we perform are mainly non-linear quasi-static simulations with Optistruct/Radioss, while for dynamic problems we are using Radioss. recently we started to use also Optistruct for acoustic issues that we face.

As a heavy ANSYS APDL user, the best part of hypermesh to me is to quickly read and check the result files (.rst) exported from anlsys simulation tasks.

I haven't got used to the latest graphics window. There are huge differences between the old menu and the new setup.

Non-standard mesh generating and quality checking. For example, the improving the mesh quality for the in vivo human infant skull model for a reseach project.

Using hyperworks is highly recommended tool in FEA. 
It is so robust in handling designs and so convenient to use.

It is always crashes HWx windows. sometimes it can't handle larger CAD files.

User friendly and it will support to most of the analysis softwares. Easy to create fe mesh and easy to build Input model.

Mesh generation is littles slow and mesh flow is not accurate compare to comparators.

We prepare basic Fe models and input decks for simulation and for results verification we use hyperview.

Very user friendly tool for FE Modelling as compared to its competitors. Altair also provides its own implicit and explicit solver for structural analysis along with Hypermesh.

The updated version of Hypermesh some issues for import of geometry. The time required to import the native CAD was less in old version of hypermesh as compared to the new version.

The new HyperWorks interface is user-friendly, with icons that are simple to interpret and facilitate navigation. It is also now simpler to clean geometries and quickly mesh them for analysis and smooth operation because there is no longer a requirement to continuously click the CTRL button while panning and turning the geometry. HyperWorks is frequently utilised in our department for meshing, which facilitates and expedites work.

Some aspects are less understandable, and others, like patches and the extended surface, don't function as well as they should.
Some crashes with the updated version happen when complex geometry is used.

**What do you like best about Altair Hypermesh?**

We used this software for our academic project, which deals with FEA and optimization under static loading conditions. At first, we tried analysis using another tool, but the amount of weight reduction and mesh quality was not very good. What we notice about our user experience is that the meshing and optimization are excellent. This software can frequently build a high-quality tetra mesh quickly and effortlessly, even for highly complex geometry. They also offer several options to regulate the mesh's outcome. Additionally, the weight loss and iteration count were significant.

UI is complex, and API is also not that user-friendly.
Requires high-end Laptops to get results.

With new surface it's more accessible to clear CAD geometries, mid-surfaces, and meshes. Much easier to use without pressing ctrl all the time. Also, we can drag leave files to open them.

Some commands are not working well sometimes, for example, cross extend and extend. And it crashes more often than old surface so you need to save your work at least every hour.

It has a good number of varieties of solver supports. My favorite is optistruct, which I use for mashing, load setup, analysis and automated optimization of designs.

The user interface still looks like ancient technology. The features are unique but could have been presented more aesthetically and ergonomically for the endusers.

The matter that Hypermesh can work as a preprocessor for so many solvers is really amazing. I personally use it as a pre-processor as a CAE Modeller for defining constraints and boundary conditions and then use that file with any other software solver.

The user interface is not very user friendly but the tab layout is thought through before assigning the location and makes the software a little easier to use for new CAE Modellers.

A really good tool for starters. can help you open up to a wide variety of FEA packages and position you probably in the centre.

I use Hypermesh to describe simulation constraints in order to solve the file in any other solver such as Ansys, Ls-Dyna, Radioss etc. Basically, you do not need to learn all other software even if you want to use their solver machines but Hypermesh does it for you.

The best part of the altair hypermesh is simulation and  modeling and user interface  is very good and easy to operate as well as drafting part is best. when we are using this software it is very easy to analyze for  designed visualization and documentation . 

This  software is beneficial for manufacturing , engineering and drafting and also easy installation.

HyperMesh is used in aviation and aerospace industry for the analysis of local structures and identification and removal of redundant material. Hypermesh is primarily a meshing software specially for structural applications.

Meshing is an integral part of the engineering simulation process where complex geometries are divided into simple elements that can be used as discrete local approximations of the larger domain. The mesh influences the accuracy, convergence and speed of the simulation.

There are a lot of software's available in market for CAE analysis, but among them I found Altair hyperworks very much promising to deliver the best performance.
As a CAE professional I have been working with this Altair Hypermesh software with optistruct solver and performing various analysis on the engineering problems and Hypermesh always there with very easy and accurate results.

There is requirement of understanding of the working flow of the software as well as command, without it this is a bit tough software.
Hypermesh is quite tough software to learn than any other CAE software but it is the best among all.

**What do you dislike about Altair Hypermesh?**

I didn't like the auto mesh features it didn't give proper results. It didn't have automatic features. but that features we get in ansa. we cant use Hypermesh tetra meshing. because ansa gives good results for tetra meshing.

I will suggest to everyone from every industry that hypermesh is best for meshing analysis of varies parts of or assemblies.

We are using  Altair Hypermesh for meshing of various parts of automobile parts like Headlamp, Engine parts, Tail Lamps, Hood assembly, Door assembly, Carpet assembly, HVAC assembly, Bumper assembly, Door Trims, Exauhaust assembly. Then after meshing we are applying thickness, applying materials boundary conditions and  Then we use the same assembly for analysis of car/vehicle for safety, the durability.

generating high-quality mesh per user needs especially for complex models.
Comparing the result that was pre-processed with Hypermesh with other software, you could see a huge difference in the accuracy of post-processed results.

it is not very user friendly. Sometimes it is hard to find what you need.

**Recommendations to others considering Altair Hypermesh:**

If you need to focus on a special area of the model and generate a very fine mesh and skip the other area with a larger mesh size, Hypermesh is the best software to use.
It gives you an acceptable result with a shorter time of processing.

**What problems is Altair Hypermesh solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was a CAE engineer, focusing on NVH, preparing the car model for noise transmission analysis.
The experimental result showed the noise transmitted by the engine mount was higher than the standard. Then we use Hypermesh to model the engine mount and the car body to analyze the noise transmission.

**What do you like best about Altair Hypermesh?**

- Mesh generation and model manipulation through the interface is highly user friendly
- Supports a wide range of solvers, like abaqus, LsDyna, Nastran which are commonly used in the automotive industry. Optistruct, the native solver in the hyperworks suite is my go-to for optimization solutions.
- Has a robust scripting interface with TCL/tk. The API lets you customize your workflow requirements, with a high level of control. Quick scripts can be whipped up for a wide variety of functions - this is supported by a large community of users at Altair script exchange.
- A "solver browser" lets you organize solver deck specific keyword cards in a tree format. This is essential when you're constantly dealing with multiple solvers, in their non-native pre-processors.
- Connectors/weld generation and manipulation has a wide range of options
- Model checker for quality - customisable with scripts
- Hypermorph is an amazing tool to quickly shape change your finite element mesh with contol handle options.
-HWAT is a great starting point for process automation

**What do you dislike about Altair Hypermesh?**

-Batch mesh generation , generally is not at par with the other preprocessors out there.
- Automatic FE element quality clearing with criteria adherence is not as seamless as it should be.

Altair hypermesh is a good point to start for aspiring CAE engineers. It's the most widely used FEA preprocessor in the industry.

**What problems is Altair Hypermesh solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Generating finite element models of automobiles at a very large scale
- Assembling components in subsystems using fasteners, welds, adhesives and other connectors 
- Preparing analysis decks for a wide range of problems - loads, boundary conditions
- Automating common CAE workflows that encompass the whole hyperworks suite. The high fidelity scripting support had helped reduce countless hours in labour-intensive workflows

The great intorperability between CAD and Hypermesh is really appreciated, as per the definition of composite material. The automatic generating mesh is also really good, with an improvement over the year for all the use.
