We were the first downstream RHEL clone to be released after the announcement by Red Hat that support for CentOS Linux was ending, and we shifted to maintaining RHEL compatibility in the wake of Red Hat’s announcement in June that they would no longer be releasing their SRPMs. Our goal is to provide a stable, long-term option for folks who have historically used CentOS Linux, and for whom CentOS Stream is not an option. I experience fewer unexpected outages from updates, and security fixes are quickly delivered. The long-term support reduces the frequency of upgrades, which I find valuable. Additionally, the initial setup for Zabbix was easy. **What do you dislike about AlmaLinux OS?** Lower workflow devops, and KB is not big at this moment **What problems is AlmaLinux OS solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use AlmaLinux OS for its RHEL compatibility, easy installation, and stability. It eliminates compatibility errors with the RHEL-optimized U.S. tech stack that powers our entire business. This means I can run essential tools like AWS EC2, Azure AKS, Stripe, PayPal, QuickBooks, and CrowdStrike exactly as they're intended, with zero modifications or missing libraries. The initial setup is also overwhelmingly straightforward and low-effort, even for our 2-person lean IT team managing a hybrid AWS/Azure U.S. cloud/on-prem infrastructure. **What do you dislike about AlmaLinux OS?** No cross-U.S.-cloud template sync: We maintain separate custom AMIs for AWS and Azure (U.S. regions), with no way to sync configuration across platforms—doubling the maintenance work for our 2-person team. **What problems is AlmaLinux OS solving and how is that benefiting you?** AlmaLinux OS eliminates the RHEL cost/compatibility tradeoff and ensures 1:1 binary compatibility with RHEL for U.S.-centric enterprise stacks, reducing IT risk and allowing efficient tool usage without modifications. ### 3.
