I like that Almabase is an all-in-one solution that lets us communicate with our alumni. We use it for event registration and peer-to-peer communication, and we've built affinity spaces within it. I appreciate that we've consolidated all of our communications efforts into one platform with Almabase, making it easier to track engagement and only deal with one platform. What do you dislike about Almabase? Data management can sometimes be difficult. Sometimes self-reported data is also hard to manage. We moved to Almabase on a recommendation (that their giving and event software is excellent at data capture and looks great), and while that has been true, the quality of the training and support has actually been what we love the most. We found companies that captured data updates well, and other companies with great looking software from the end user perspective. Almabase puts it all together. Almabase is just what our alumni have been asking for in a database. It enables alumni to update their information, stay in touch with one another, and maintain a connection to the school. There is a learning curve and a time commitment on the front end to set everything up. We like that Almabase has multiple features like access to Wordpress, emailing marketing, events, fundraising, data studio, all rolled into a single platform. We appreciate their customer service and always being willing to listen to feedback to improve their platform. We like how alumni can easily update their information and how many times donations can be tracked to an alumni even if they have not logged on. Custom fields are also very important to us as we track specialty information of our alumni. Over we have been very satisfied with Almabase over the past eight years and look forward to seeing how they improve their platform in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Almabase? Every site has its pros and cons and Almabase is no exception. I wish they had a way to pay via ACH but currently they do not. It would also be nice if their Wordpress site was better integrated into their platform and for us to see more statistic on which alumni read posts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is Almabase solving and how is that benefiting you? We used to have to use several platforms to do all the tasks we do now all on Almabase. That saves us a lot of time and energy not updating several records. Almabase also helps increase engagement as alumni can now update their own personal details, register for events, and make donations without direct assistance from our office. They are always willing, and eager, to help with any issues we may have. The support team is also great about listening to the wants and needs of customers and making updates to the platform. Rather than someone sitting down and helping us et up the product and integrate it with our CRM, we were told to watch webinars. We practically set the product up on our own. Almabase's customer service is second to none, they can't do enough to help and are always super speedy with responses. The setup process was very easy, and I am able to manage the site and add content very easily (and I have no experience of website development). Not much - the format is quite prescriptive but that suits us as we're not web developers - so it's a benefit in that the site looks professional no matter what we do to it! We originally bought the platform for alumni to engage with one another - it's actually most useful to us to process donations, take event bookings, do crowdfunding campaigns and hold and search alumni data. It's great to create lots of alumni content away from the main school website, we love sending our enewsletter through the site and directing all of our social media comms into Almabase. Almabase was very pleasant to work with. We were able to tailor my contract based on what I needed and wanted. They listened to my vision and gave suggestions about how I could impliment those ideas. The platform itself is not difficult to learn. I was able to to manage setting up the site by using an online graphic design site for the images I needed. Almabase helped with the more complex tasks. Their communication was clear, consistent, and helpful. The customer support was very responsive. To do administraive tasks, I login a few times a week and spend perhaps 15 minutes each time, but it may not require others that much time once the initial set up is used. The features I can add on are numerous and it's able to replace a social media group. It easily integrated into our website brand and it was not hard to do a custom URL. Now I have a general idea of how they organize things, but initially it was a little hard to remember where administrative tools and features were located. Fortunately it is well organized. Almabase has been a significant improvement as our online portal for event registration and email communication, and easily integrates with our Blackbaud RE database. The user experience for our alumni and friends has been much smoother, and preparing emails has been easy and intuitive. The customer support has been outstanding. What do you dislike about Almabase? I can't say that we have any particular dislikes. Almabase is still relatively young as a product, and so I periodically find things that can't be done yet. Because it replaced Blackbaud NetCommunity, the fact that it integrates with Blackbaud Raisers' Edge is important to us. We also use Almabase for our outbound bulk emailing. We have a small staff, so the intuitive functionality is a great asset. We are still relatively early in our adoption.
