Alma is easy to use, I am the administrator at our school for all things related to Alma. I am not a computer engineer or have any more than basic computer skills, but I am able to navigate my way through Alma without too much difficulty. There are a few features that are not available to us because we are an international school in Korea. The one we would most like to use is the SMS feature. However Alma is regularly updating and improving things and I'm sure they will get to this too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that you can copy grades and assignments in Alma. I also like the accessible attendance menu on the home page, and how you can access who last went and checked the attendance. Having student safety information handy is good to have around too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Most times it can be confusing for me to transfer grades from one class to the next. I would like to see some individual markers for each course I have, so I can tell which is which. Alma has a very progressive approach to education that follows the pedagogical evolution all educators go through. It is a very easy to use interface and the layout and organization is excellent. I was first drawn to the SIS because of the google classroom integration (which is a game changer creating a true LMS and SIS combined system that inform one another). Beyond this I can't say enough good things about the customer service. They are prompt, on the ball and so very easy to work with. There is nothing I dislike but I have made suggestions they have been receptive to and this is a wonderful thing. One suggestion I have made is adding an assignment rubric function, which could be quantified and integrated to gradebook. They were very interested in this and have been looking at it. I love how user-friendly the system is for both administrators and teachers. It is very customizable and easy to make edits when needed. It's easy to set up and train a person who isn't too tech savvy. It is easy to navigate, pretty self-explanatory. I love the help section and how it caters to all learning types. I also really like how things are documented in real time. No back dating. Not to mention Alma has a great support team. I love how we can copy info over to another school year as well. I dislike how we are unable to take attendance if they left early in the first half (they way we have it set up) I wish we were able to search by user-defined fields. I dislike that we cannot create custom reports and run attendance reports similar to "Class Attendance-ALL" but include the student in that report. In the view attendance section on the student profile I dislike how it counts a missed/late period as a missed day, I would like it to be separate. As often when I go in there I'm looking for the absences for the entire day. I manually have to find and count those.That's all I can think of for now. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Customer service is great! They are willing to help custom it to what fits best for your school. Awesome program! We tried several different student information systems when our school opened--a self-developed system and also a very expensive system that has been in operation for many years. Alma by far was better than either. It requires no coding on the part of the school, is super easy for teachers to use, and is continually being improved based on the needs of the school.
