"Good Option for OKRs"

What do you like best about Ally.io?

"You *can* have too much of a good thing (in this case, flexibility and features)"

What do you like best about Ally.io?

Starting out with the OKR methodology, it was great to have a tool that allowed a lot of flexibility in developing and tracking OKRs. The iconography and colors are helpful in determining what you are looking at, and the many different available views has potential to be quite useful (for managers tracking direct reports, for example). The Slack integration is great for making it easy to check in. Our customer success manager is helpful, generous with time, and no question is a dumb question. What do you dislike about Ally.io?

The disconnect between Ally training materials' distinction between O/KR traits and the software's support of the duality model (org O -> org KR -> team KR -> individual/sub KR) with no explicit support for the flexible model (org O -> org KR -> team O-> team KR -> etc) is perplexing. Either stick to a distinction between Os and KRs and don't let them ever be the same thing, or rephrase the distinction to match the structure the software supports. The Ally software also includes many features "following, reporting, notifications) that have little to no documentation, and end up feeling like "fluff" added to make it look like the software can do a lot, but actually offer little real value. Really understand the approach you want to take with onboarding your organization to the OKR methodology so you can better understand the tool that will meet your needs, provide training in the process and its value from the outset, ask lots of questions of the company reps you talk to. "A great OKR tool that can easily be integrated into your work life"

What do you like best about Ally.io?

The ease of updating my OKR's through Slack, as well as the collaborative functions that helps us to track our progress Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ally.io?

In my opinion, there was a steep learning curve in navigating the actual platform, especially when learning about how to align individual OKR's with team and organizational OKR's. I have also noticed that my updates via Slack aren't always updated in real-time in the platform. I would also like to have a better reporting tool regarding user engagement. We are able to set clear goals that are in alignment with the mission and vision of the company, which has helped us to achieve our objectives in a very accountable and transparent way. We have also been able to foster a greater sense of teamwork in helping each other to achieve our individual and organizational goals. "Solid OKR tracking"

What do you like best about Ally.io?

The way OKRs are organized on the platform and integrations with Google Sheets and Slack for easy, automated reporting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Ally.io?

There is a view to visually see how OKR's are aligned. However, it doesn't allow you to see the entire OKR structure. In other words, you can see a single objective and it's key results, but not in the full pyramid like nature. Allowing you to visualize the full structure in one screen would be great for displaying the entire OKR tracking on a monitor in an office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?

OKR's help us keep big picture growth opportunities top of mind. It's easy to get caught up in the minutiae of everyday work, but OKRs make sure you integrate long term goals into that daily routine. Ally.io make it easy to implement OKR's share them across all teams, make them transparent, clear and accessible. Further, when your key results are done correctly, you can automate reporting using a variety of integrations. In our case, we are able to pull most reporting data into Google Sheets and then integrate those with Ally.io. This makes reporting automatic.

There is also a reporting forecasting feature that tells you if you are on track or falling behind. I highly recommend Ally.io for anyone using OKR's to grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Ally has helped our organization increase transparency and improve alignment in all directions"

What do you like best about Ally.io?

I like that Ally is visually sleek and easy to use, even for those who have never used a goal setting tool before. The integrations with Jira and Slack really enhance the value of Ally in the eyes of our users and increase adoption. Features like "multiple alignment" and the ability to edit weights of the impact of key results on the parent objective help us use the OKR framework in a flexible way that makes sense to the business. What do you dislike about Ally.io?

For a 500 person organization, it can feel difficult to keep track of where individual key results connect all the way to the top level organization objectives. There are also opportunities related to reporting, but I know the Ally team is working diligently to make improvements there. We have responded to employee feedback that the longer term vision and direction of the company felt unclear. We have also used Ally to increase empowerment and ownership in encouraging individuals to write their own OKRs and by defining their own KPIs. Through implementing Ally we have uncovered actual business opportunities to be better aligned on priorities across teams. Benefits include greater clarity for people on their actual individual priorities, an understanding of department level KPIs, and what performance metrics our CEO has defined as most critical to success.
