## Ally.io Reviews
  ### 1. Best in Tech OKR Management Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anal P. | Analyst - Marketing Analytics , Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2022

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

Ally.io has a really good UI focussing on how to create Objectives and Key results with pairing and balancing the OKR management. Ally is far better than its competitors like Profit.co with respect to integrations and auto update. It has been helping me and my team track our OKRs and give a clear idea where we stand in terms of our target.

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

Ally.io api are not so strong which leads us not to have a database setup, because of this we are not able to have a dump of the day on our database system. Also anyone can edit anyone's OKRs and obejctive which makes it really difficult to track the changes. Also it is really difficult to have complex calculations and mapping.

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using Ally.io to track our Objectives and Key result and see where we are in terms of what we have set our target, which helps us decide our futuristic approach. It also allows us delegate work to our peers and help us review each other's works. It makes best of system for team collaboration

  ### 2. Good for companies

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lily K. | Social Media Editor, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 01, 2021

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

It's helpful in keeping track of tasks I need to do during the day/week/month. Sometimes work is so busy that I lose things that don't have to be done immediately and this program helps me stay on track with things like that.

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

I wish I could change when they remind me to check-in. Friday afternoons when I'm trying to get a bunch of stuff done before the weekend isn't very ideal. It's also not always helpful with keeping track of that arent numbers based. Sometimes it's difficult to assign a percentage to the work that I need to do so I just don't add it to ally because it doesn't make sense.

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps in keeping me aligned with the rest of my team so we know we're working cohesively. Also getting reminded to check in brings helps me remember things that need to be done for the week that I may have forgotten or not yet gotten too.

  ### 3. A system to measure your company's objectives

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 22, 2021

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

Once you have defined your objectives, it's easy to keep track of them. However, the hard part is precisely defining the objectives in a way that can be measured and that is meaningful

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

The whole idea of the product is to provide visibility around the company's objectives. However, I'd be concerned about the possibility of having employees regarded as numbers of an equation or input. It should perhaps, add ways to measure soft skills that also bring value to the organization.

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Segment organization in groups with defined goals that are tracked on a specified periodic basis, having individuals be accountable for the fulfillment of specific objectives and having the opportunity to follow that to completion.

  ### 4. Ally.io keeps me motivated

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 30, 2021

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

Ally.io gives me one place to track my goals, both from a career-development and functional perspective. It is as flexible as I need it to be. I also LOVE that I can Bulk Check-in my status. I try to do this weekly, calling out my manager or directors as needed to get attention to things slipping.

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

Sometimes the hierarchy can be a bit confusing, but honestly, I think that comes down to how my company has implemented the solution.

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of my problems is that I can get so busy working on stuff that creeps up, I don't get to the stuff that really matters. I have used Ally.io to set goals that motivate me to own my time, get the most important things done first, and then do the rest.

  ### 5. Great Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cameron A. | Intern, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 04, 2021

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

The dashboard function is a great way to present how each team is doing in terms of fulfilling targets that help complete bigger goals.

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

My company uses Microsoft, and we currently cannot connect Microsoft excel to do automatic check-ins, so that is a little tedious.

**Recommendations to others considering Ally.io:**

It is a great tool to keep every employee on track.

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ally forces us to keep on track with our goals.

  ### 6. Really handy for longterm goal setting, overall team alignment and collaboration

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2021

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

I really like the check-in functionality of the key results, which automatically feeds the overall objective. As a team leader, I like being able to set key results and assign them to team members

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

I don't like that 2 people can't own an objective. I also don't like that when you clone a set of OKRs that you can't move around or edit the order in which they come, as one team member might prioritise different objectives than another.

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Team alignment to goals that I can check at any time, solving the need for constant alignment and communication across multiple teams. It allows an entire broad team to focus on hitting the same goals and objectives with different key results

  ### 7. Overall OKRs are a proven method for org wide collaboration and success; Ally makes it delightful

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sachin G. | Product Head, Supply, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 21, 2021

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

Easy to set goals and track
Visibility across the org on OKRs
Single focus - no additional scope beyond just OKRs - we run our meetings via Ally

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

UI/UX can be made better - too much clutter (charts, descriptions, check-in, comments etc)
Use of keyboard shortcuts - to make creation/ edits/ check ins and other verbose elements faster
Facilitate google like comments

**Recommendations to others considering Ally.io:**

If you aim to bring an objective OKR led way of running your org - Ally is amazing tool to use!
If you don't know OKRs - read Andy Grove :)

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are trying to bring org wide adoption of OKR as the paramount tool
Ally has made it easy to have entire org level visibility on goals and progress

**Official Response from Marilyn Napier:**

> Hi Sachin,

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! We'll make sure to pass along your input regarding the UI/UX and keyboard shortcuts to our product team. We're so happy to hear Ally.io is helping you manage OKRs!

Thanks again,
Marilyn at Ally.io

  ### 8. Platform is very easy to use and has great integrations (slack, etc.)

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bella A. | Senior HR Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 04, 2020

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

Scoring OKRs is basically done automatically. It's pretty easy to align OKRs. And checking in can be done quickly. Adding new users is very simple.

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

I would like to have better insights into team OKRs. I would like to be able to just close the OKR and be done, as it is I have to close all the key results, not just the objective. I would like it to remind people to check in.

**Recommendations to others considering Ally.io:**

Think carefully about whether you need to use the Team OKRs, I don't think most companies need that feature

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use OKRs to align and collaborate for greater teamwork and awareness of who all is working on what, and what is blocking tasks. Ally has been much easier to use than our previous platform.

**Official Response from Marilyn Napier:**

> Hi Bella,

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! We'll make sure to pass along your input regarding insights into team OKRs. I've also attached one of our help articles on scheduling reminders for your team to make check-ins, hope it helps!

Thanks again,
Marilyn at Ally.io

  ### 9. Ally has increased our productivity after - transitioning from a google doc to a powerful platform

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dennis G. | Business Strategy Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 20, 2020

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

Our team liked the simplicity and straigh-forwardness the most - all it took was a 10min quick tutorial and we were good to go

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

Ally has been growing fast in the recent times, so stuff like missing essential integrations is constantly being worked on based on the demands of most users. The only thing that we've had trouble with is the overview of all goals in the tree-overview - you can't zoom out and look at everything at once. Other than that, all missing features were implemented very fast after we've issued them.

**Recommendations to others considering Ally.io:**

1) Working OKRs rely on the personal groundwork, the tool just supports the people and should be seen as such (OKRs are not an end in themselves)
2) Think about what you want in a tool: Only Goals? Performance management? Employee recognition?

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Productivity has been up overall. We use Ally as a commitment platform that allows for laying the path to reaching our goals - even though our teams use it time-wise very differently based on their teams personal preference

**Official Response from Marilyn Napier:**

> Hi Dennis,

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it. We'll make sure to pass along your input regarding the tree overview to our product team. We're so glad Ally.io is increasing your team's productivity!

Thanks again,
Marilyn at Ally.io

  ### 10. An overall great tool for OKR planning

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

It's nice to see all the company OKRs in one place along with all the progress that is being made.

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

It takes some time to learn the functionality and UI of the tool

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility of company goals and helps cross-functional teams align on priorities.

  ### 11. Suitable for those implementing OKRs in their Workplace

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** German Jonathan P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

Being able to input OKRs really easy. Ease of use when it comes to checking-in on the Key results. Customer Support also responds quick. I also like how they calculate the progress versus the expected for each Key Result. It is also very easy for me to change/switch from my Own OKRs to our Company's Objective. Overall, it is okay for us users.

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

Needs a little improvement in terms of UI. It is sometimes difficult to drag around the key results to other parent Key Results. I suggest they should also have a tab for reports, where you can download charts or files showing the status of the Key Results since it's hard to dig deeper into the results just to see the progress (too many clicks) probably breaks the rules of OKRs but sometimes we have to do it and sometimes, colleagues doesn't have the time to go to each of our OKRs. I also saw another software that offers almost the same features but for free, UI however is worse. Maybe they can lower their pricing since we only use the software for OKRs nothing more.

**Recommendations to others considering Ally.io:**

Educate yourself more about OKRs, watch YouTube videos in terms of how to implement. Instead of doing your OKRs manually, it's better to use a software like Ally. If you have a Sales Team, this I would recommend.

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being able to see through the whole company in terms of the progress of our objectives. People are more motivated in completing their tasks related to our overall goal because of transparency.

**Official Response from Marilyn Napier:**

> Hi German,

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! We'll pass along your input regarding the UI to our product team. We're glad you're finding your company has been more motivated because of Ally.io!

Thanks again,

  ### 12. Nice way to structure your objectives and it's key results

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nirav M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 29, 2020

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

"My OKRs" is the nice way of showing the best view for my OKRs. The team objectives are the second best thing which I like more. And at last, check-in using the different metrics are the fruits to the table.

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

The multiple levels of the Key Results is sometimes confusing and may lead to less informative since we have to go to the new view to see the key results at level 4 or 5.

**Recommendations to others considering Ally.io:**

Ally is nice one when you have a clear view of OKR(s). like if you have some Objectives and at max 2-3 levels of key results. Go with this tool if you have self motivated and strong team which is more towards the result, basically result-oriented as we have. A small team can perform well using this software. Your objectives are well aligned through Objectives features. The key result related to the objectives are specific so that the metrics will be of more generic. I used so many metrics using this software like, % (percentage) completed, no. of features developed, no. of stories executed. One more thing, if you are working on the goals for the quarter basis, this is nice way to handle the scenario. Even if you can update the dates for the objective or key result to a specific dates, it is best to use this as the quarter objective and key result.

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keep the Objectives in tact while going through a quarter. Metrics are more valuable when working on specific key results.

**Official Response from Marilyn Napier:**

> Hi Nirav,

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! We'll pass your input along regarding the confusion of key results to our product team. We're glad you're finding Ally.io helpful.

Thanks again,
Marilyn at Ally.io

  ### 13. User friendly tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Umanand I. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 28, 2020

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

- User friendly designs. Very easy to use and have objectives and key results. Was able to take it to the team without much trainings.
- Can definitely be considered as one of the modern SaaS tool.
- Real time notifications through channels such as slack was helpful to understand the checkins being done and hence the progress.
- Option to align the KRs with other people in the organisation so that the goal can be achieved within the stipulated time
- Hierarchical objectives is really helpful to align our thoughts and goals in a specific quarter
- Specific inline insights when we define more KRs against an objective is the good example of inline validation and education in the modern SaaS world.
- Ability to weigh the objectives and KRs. Not all objectives can be given equal weightage. This option helped to define the weightage of objectives and KRs.
- Summary widget clearly gives everyone a real and very high level view of the progress made so far without going lot more deeper into the details.
- Very easy way to rearrange the objectives and KRs

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

Defining the way to capture metrics against objectives & KRs can be much more friendly especially the kind of metrics that we have in today's world.

**Recommendations to others considering Ally.io:**

Organisations moving to OKR model - worth evaluating Ally

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Am able to define my quarterly goals for myself and my team and able to track the progress on a weekly basis. Insights that we get around the progress made on each of the objectives is really helpful.

**Official Response from Marilyn Napier:**

> Hi Umanand,

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! We'll make sure to pass along your suggestion regarding defining the way to capture metrics to our product team. We're so glad you're finding Ally.io easy to use!

Thanks again,

Honestly, there's nothing I can think of that our team doesn't enjoy about Ally.

  ### 17. New experience implementing OKRs as a goal setting tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2020

**What do you like best about Ally.io?**

Centralized and transparent goal setting throughout organizations

**What do you dislike about Ally.io?**

The interface can appear complex, especially to those employees that are unfamiliar with the OKR framework. Ally as a platform is only as effective as the users' understanding of the benefits of the OKR system, setting effective goals, and properly evaluating them.

**Recommendations to others considering Ally.io:**

Recommend understanding OKR methodology deeply and start slow to get used to all of the basic functionalities

**What problems is Ally.io solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Ally allows us to set ambitious goals, but considering that we have used the platform for less than a quarter it is difficult to fully quantify the benefits.

**Official Response from Marilyn Napier:**

Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it! We'll make sure to pass along your input regarding our interface to our product team. We're so glad Ally.io is helping your organization with transparent goal setting!
