It saves a lot of time and gives me a much more realistic starting point than building everything from scratch. **What do you dislike about Alloy?** When I first started using Alloy, I couldn't find a way to import a design system into the platform or reuse the same design system across multiple prototypes. Because of that, I often spent time refining the UI of the same components over and over again. Being able to share and reuse a design system would save time and make it easier to keep prototypes consistent. **What problems is Alloy solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of the biggest problems Alloy solves for me is working on legacy products that don't have a Figma file or any existing design source. Before Alloy, I had to recreate screens manually in Figma or use other AI tools that required much more effort to achieve a similar result. With Alloy, I can capture production screens with high fidelity in just a few minutes and immediately start iterating on top of them. If needed, I can also export the result to Figma. This has significantly reduced the time it takes to start a design project and allows me to focus on solving UX problems instead of rebuilding existing interfaces. The prototypes I created were highly appreciated by PMs, devs, and stakeholders during validation sessions. I've also used them to conduct usability tests. ### 2. Alloy feels like a senior designer on steriods when it works really well. I also really like the thinking ability as it can share a multitude of options to implement from. **What do you dislike about Alloy?** It sometimes runs into problems editing complex tables, but the team has been trying to make improvements in this regard. Also sometimes it does feel a bit slow when executing. I did prefer the $20/user/month pricing where you could do unlimited designs based on that price point and not a big fan of the new pricing model. **What problems is Alloy solving and how is that benefiting you?** Solving creating a high-fidelity design instead of a wireframe to show how new features would look like on a web application ### 3. As the solo product person on a team of 11 engineers, I genuinely don't think I could handle design on top of product execution without it. It doesn't just execute, it thinks through problems with me and designs interfaces and interactions I wouldn't have come up with myself, all while sticking closely to our existing design system. I shipped three high-priority PRDs in a single day using it and got great feedback from my team on how smoothly everything came together without a dedicated designer. **What do you dislike about Alloy?** I've run into a few small issues here and there while using it day to day, but nothing that has significantly slowed me down. What stands out is how quickly the team looks into and resolves things whenever I've flagged a problem, which makes the occasional rough edge easy to overlook. **What problems is Alloy solving and how is that benefiting you?** We recently had to let go of our designer due to budget constraints, which left me as the only product person supporting a team of 11 engineers with no design background of my own. As a PM, this makes my day-to-day work much faster — I can turn an idea into a visual in minutes instead of starting from a blank canvas. It's also extremely easy to use, so I never feel like the tool is slowing me down. **What do you dislike about Alloy?** Honestly, not much — my main gripe is that the AI can sometimes take a while to apply the changes I've requested. When I'm iterating quickly on a mockup, waiting for updates to come through slows down the flow a bit. **What problems is Alloy solving and how is that benefiting you?** It removes the gap between having an idea and being able to show it. Instead of writing long descriptions or waiting on design resources, I can quickly mock up changes on top of our real web pages and share something concrete with the team. I really like how straightforward and user-friendly Alloy is, as it enables me to capture a page or section of the system, ensuring consistency with the current design. The setup was also straightforward, with no problems at all. **What do you dislike about Alloy?** I think the only thing I would say about Alloy and how it can be improved is that sometimes it can take a bit longer to get the design done, and if you've done many suggestions for a prototype, it may crash. So the solution is just duplicating it and having a whole new prototype again.
