When we are considering something that we might deploy to our entire workforce, this is an important consideration. It's also easy enough to use that we don't have to block time for training after granting new users access to the system unless they seek to do advanced reporting or logic. I also think that the search feature is generally quite good, a core feature we use regularly, so I really appreciate that it isn't "touchy". **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** I do not find the logic and custom reporting engine to be the strongest. The field labels are not intuitive, and we frequently have trouble with more complicated workflows because there isn't a good way to see what you're building while in-flight. I'd love to see either more of a reliance on a WYSIWYG format or some decision support/in-flight tools to ensure you get it right. I also have tested the functionality that is meant to weed out suspicious/duplicate responses and I was able to submit numerous ones without anything being flagged. This does not bode well for our particular use cases, namely anonymous surveys where we don't want to take the time to generate unique private links for every employee. **What problems is Alchemer Survey solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Alchemer for a variety of employee-facing surveys and signup forms. We sought a third-party product because we didn't see a solution that our existing Microsoft Office tools could support. This empowers us to do more complex surveys - like one that lets our employees select which combination of charities they would like to support, how they would like to submit their donations, and on what schedule. No CPC (cost per complete) for using is its greatest strength, which is nice when you can minimize your direct costs. Easy enough back-end (but that's due to limited capabilities) to navigate around and program a survey. The survey template/skin builder is okay. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** Limited capabilities. Gizmo just cannot do basic survey logic or piping and has terrible quota controls, that can botch a project with guaranteed incentives quickly. Also, the reporting and dashboard capabilitiies are also so basic that you cannot easily review and glean insights from your survey data without additional resources. So the largest downsides are that you cannot attempt to execute a complex survey with it as your platform. **Recommendations to others considering Alchemer Survey:** Gizmo cannot handle complicated requests so if you have online survey needs that go beyond something simple and straightforward, seek other options. Also, the Gizmo knowledgebase and support are extraordinarily lacking so I would not plan for getting their help either. The online boards from serious survey programmers lodging similar complaints about the tool and its support are almost comical. **What problems is Alchemer Survey solving and how is that benefiting you?** If you need to deploy a simple survey out to your sample, i guess its okay but it should be used for actual complex research. A survey longer than a 2 minutes should find another platform. I like how you can manipulate the survey response boxes and move them around to reorder or change the look of your survey. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** I have a lot of experience working with Qualtrics and SurveyMonkey and find their platforms to be slightly more intuitive. Also, SurveyGizmo seems very slow--there is always a lag when I try to save my work or move to another part of the site. I now get a lesser product at 4 1/2 times the cost. How in the world is that acceptable? Case in point, I used to be able to distribute the surveys to as many people as needed. Then they limited it to number of people that could be engaged in any one campaign. Now they cap at 10,000 per month - on my multi-user account. How they think any serious market researcher can operate under that constraint defies me. **Recommendations to others considering Alchemer Survey:** Honestly, I'd look elsewhere. Service decreases and constraints increase constantly (and without regard to your annual contract). This software allows a number of different question types, which helps to get a better picture of peoples' opinions. Many times I have pressed one button thinking it does one thing when it actually does something else. Frequently our trainees are confused as to why certain applications are operated the way they are and many have pointed out easier alternatives. They look really professional. The survey builder is really intuitive. The home page has a nice layout. Most things on the platform are really intuitive. I did not have to go searching too long to figure out how to achieve something. **What do you dislike about Alchemer Survey?** The platform does not really handle audio files very well. I was often presented with errors when trying to upload audio files. I ended up hosting the audio files on Soundcloud and embedding the Soundcloud player into the survey. This approach worked great, but it was very tedious mindless work...especially since I made use of over 150 audio files. This approach took days. I did not like how the survey results were presented to me. I employed a lot of randomisation. It was confusing when the provided pdfs had scrambled question numbers. I had to contact survey gizmo support to get my head around this. **Recommendations to others considering Alchemer Survey:** Begin designing the survey early, especially if you intend to use audio files. **What problems is Alchemer Survey solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was conducting research. I was examining how early reflections affect the perceived distance of a sound source. In particular, I examined if the number of early reflections a listener receives affects the perceived distance of a sound source. I never actually feel like I know what I'm doing and I'm just clicking links until I can find what I actually need.
