Akamai CDN improves our customers digital interactions, it made content smoother and better. **What do you dislike about Akamai Technologies Services?** A bit pricey for newer customers and more expensive if we compared it with lesser CDN services. Akamai CDNs user interface is somewhat confusing in certain aspect and must also be upgraded. Also Akamai licensing is expensive . If the traffic is very high on website then costing would be very high. CDN services improved application performance and user experience enhanced. Continuity of services as applications are up 24 /7 due to no security incidents because of Akamai protection enabled. It has help organize all our files with safe and secure web cloud services and enhanced securities. With all the staff working from home akamai has definitely helped us keep up with production and ensuring a high level of security. With akamai we do not worry about confidentiality issues and continue to offer a client confidence in how we handle files. We are also looking in to mobile data security which we may implement in the near future. Something in the books for the future. **What do you like best about Akamai Technologies Services?** I like that they have a high level security from literally all threats. From ddos attacks to Margaret and phishing etc. Also the cloud service is very fast. With almost no lag or delays files are uploaded almost instantly and kept safe and secure. We also never had any issues with system outages or login issues. Everything has been pretty smooth sailing. **What do you dislike about Akamai Technologies Services?** The price is a bit steep vs some competitors. However after trying a few other similar companies, akamai price reflects the service and support that comes along with it. Another thing to note is that the setup of the free trial did take a bit longer then expected. **Recommendations to others considering Akamai Technologies Services:** If you are looking for good tech support, high level security for your sites and platforms and great cloud storage, I highly recommend you giving them a try. They also have a free trial period. I recommend using the free trial to see how you feel. After we tried the free trial we were happy to continue with the services. Other then that everything has been simple and quick. **What problems is Akamai Technologies Services solving and how is that benefiting you?** None at the moment. Everything is working and has been working well so far. No issues. The only thing is that the time to setup the free trial took a bit longer then expected but it was rectified fairly quickly. ### 14. Infinite scaling (of course, keep an eye on the overall bandwidth utilization), good support (Managed Kona Service) and fairly sensitive DDoS capabilities. Edge servers are truly ubiquitous, thereby improving the end user experience. Path optimization to ensure reduced latency. Ability to control SSL connections - Akamai Edge server being the first SSL termination point, to control weak ciphers, TLS versions over which negotiation takes place etc. Akamai's FastDNS for its DNS authoritative name service is unparalleled. **What do you dislike about Akamai Technologies Services?** Logging and Reporting capabilities can be made better to gain visibility of the overall traffic and internet transactions. Excessive dependence on TAC for granular real-time troubleshooting etc, the logs are not populated to the Control Center (in real time) thereby making the troubleshooting difficult and delayed. Lack of CDN native file sandboxing (CDN push) solution to ensure secure file uploads to the backend origin servers. **Recommendations to others considering Akamai Technologies Services:** Premium product, slightly expensive as compared to its competitors, however the feature set, support truly worth the price. Prefer this product, if the in-house technical team size is small and the migration is required with minimum disruption **What problems is Akamai Technologies Services solving and how is that benefiting you?** Web Application firewall - Mitigate OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, caching of static content closer to the end users - for improving end user experience, mitigation of Distribute Denial of Service attacks and rate limiting the traffic for those origin servers which cannot sustain heavy workloads etc. ### 16. Our previous set up did not allow us to flip production sites to failover without moving every site. now with akamai we can go based on the site itself with little impact to production. also, the DNS part was implemented and has made ourt life easier as everything was hosted by 3rd party which made it harder to troubleshoot. So far Akamai has been a terrific resource and blocks pages that are compromised, and we have noticed that it also blocks sites that are compromised due to lack of security within the organization. The product itself exceeds our expectations when it comes to securing our network from phishing attempts and virus attacks. It also works sufficiently well as a web content filter if your organization needs to blog sensitive topics. **What do you dislike about Akamai Technologies Services?** Out of all the products I have used, this one has been the most simple to deploy and manage.
