For high traffic sites you want your pages to be cached. Akamai does a good job at that. Also they do great at protecting your site against any attack like DDoS or phishing attack.

Sometimes purging pages don’t go through. It very rarely happens but that’s the only thing I noticed.

- They charge extra for their internal traffic(mid gress) if they enable tier distribution serivce which we came to know after they billed us!

Akamai is our prefered choice for content delivery, we have a number of customer that we have written bespoke software for and every occasion Akamai has provided us with exactly what we want, it is easy to use and fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
