We utilise Airbrake to monitor exceptions thrown by server-side applications developed with various frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Javascript, and Node.js. I genuinely appreciate the product as well. It has been instrumental in efficiently resolving error detection and troubleshooting, significantly reducing the time it would have otherwise taken. The simplicity of airbrake and the ease of setting up has been great for us. Functionality is far more limited than something like New Relic. This is a next-level solution to have with you, it has made it seamless to find out the errors that are coming on production and helps you figure out quickly where is the blocker in your flow. Sometimes it is difficult to figure out from where the error has occurred, but they are getting better and better at this. So I don't have much to add in dislike. I have been using this with my client to help them find error bugs which are on production and is difficult to find out on the development or staging server. And they are really happy about it, this not only helps you find out where you stand in terms of errors on your website but also strategizes your production performance. As a software developer in a small team, we can only test and verify code so much before release in the field. Airbrake helps us pinpoint the location of the erroneous code in all our various packages and release versions. After a failed event in the field, Airbrake sends our development team an email summarizing the issue and a web link to a more detailed report. The detailed report provides us with a backtrace of the failure, package, and version in question, imei, error type, and the number of times the failure occurred, helping us create bug fixes. The detailed reports of the same failure need to be viewed by clicking the next arrow, which makes the web page clean but it would be quicker and easier if all reports were on one page or are broken up into other provided information to help gain a better understanding of what / where in-field devices are having the issue. We mainly use airbrake for logging all the issues on production, training, and QA servers. It is easy to use and locate where there might be bugs during a deployment. Easy way to look at the logs with a nice UI and being able to filter out by environments, controllers (we're using a rails app), and things like that. No need for technical knowledge to use. Real time error monitor and notifying. You will know of an error as soon as airbrake picks it up. It is quite easy to set up bad error handling checks and it will then give you quite a lot of notifications that aren't relevant and flood out your inbox but that is due to bad configuration and not airbrake itself.
