The precision of the annotation tools makes collaboration utterly seamless, but a massive unexpected benefit has been the deep integrations with my existing workflow. The ability to manage frame-accurate feedback directly within Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro—while still running my custom automated scripts and tools—keeps my native workspace entirely unbroken. Additionally, the platform’s AI and intelligence features, such as smart search and automated transcription, have completely transformed how I navigate and locate specific feedback across massive project libraries.

Beyond the core review capabilities, the desktop app's UI / UX ties the whole experience together. The interface is exceptionally clean, well-organized, and visually uncluttered, allowing me to stay deeply focused on ideation rather than fighting an outdated layout. Finally, the onboarding and support experience was flawless. Rolling out new tools to cross-functional teams usually introduces heavy friction, but the intuitive design and highly responsive support team had everyone perfectly synchronized on day one. While the platform excels at visual asset review, managing heavy source files alongside exported renders can still feel a bit clunky. For complex motion projects, uploading massive raw video files or native project packages can occasionally strain sync performance, and managing deep version histories on heavy master files isn't quite as seamless as reviewing flat media previews.

Organization at scale can also become challenging as asset libraries grow exponentially. While the tag-based visual interface is clean, auto-tagging can sometimes mislabel specialized visual elements, and navigating deep nested collections can lose some of its intuition when trying to enforce rigid taxonomy standards across large, multi-disciplinary creative teams.

Lastly, notification management and fine-grained access control during peak review cycles could use more granular tuning. When multiple stakeholders leave overlapping frame-by-frame annotations, alert feeds can quickly become overwhelming, and setting hyper-specific permissions for individual sub-boards or asset variations often requires more manual tweaking than it should. What I like best about Air is that is VISUAL. Everything is laid out very in a very clean design that helps me find the content I need very quickly. I also love how easy it is to share links to specific assets, we are a mostly remote team lately, so if I have something I need to share for approval I can upload a draft of a video without worrying that another team member may find it and think it's a final version, because only certain members have access to the "Drafts" folder. I still keep my subscription to pixieset because I prefer the design/UI of pixieset for photo favoriting or "selects". Something Pixieset does that Air does not do, is upload beautiful grids of photos that are laid next to each other... I realize Air does this to an extent, but what I'm talking about specifically is the amount of portrait vs landscape photos we take, Pixieset fills in all the blank spaces so it doesn't look like a boring grid, it looks like a grid that if completely filled in. I use Air for uploading videos, and it's super easy to use, which is very helpful for downloading and creating marks for changes. It really helps my creative workflow and has become an everyday part of my environment. I love the transcription feature because it makes my life easier. When I need to search through footage, I don't even watch it; I just read the transcription. The initial setup was very intuitive. One area for improvement in Air is how assets are handled when they’re accidentally moved. Currently, if a file is dragged into the wrong folder, it can be difficult to quickly retrace steps and locate where it ended up especially in larger, more complex workspaces.

A helpful improvement would be adding an “undo” feature for asset movements, or a more visible recent activity/history log that clearly shows where files were moved. I dont like that I cant change custom fields if they are being used already to tweak them or to make them a different selection, like a one option to multi select. I also wish there was more color coordinating that could happen to visually be able to look at things that way. I find the stack feature in Air to be a gamechanger in my process as a motion designer. Instead of exporting and managing 7 or 8 different video files for each version, I can have a single Air item with all the versions, making it more useful and less confusing for those in charge of reviewing. The video preview has issues, as the quality is usually reduced and the audio breaks sometimes. The videos are optimized for fast web preview, but when reviewing, I usually want to watch them at full quality. It would be good to have an option to watch in full resolution. Initially, the setup was a bit confusing since it's cloud-based, but it is very intuitive. I'd recommend downloading the file directly to the computer when reviewing videos to ensure watching in full quality, since it became a problem where managers thought my video was in low resolution and it took time to figure out.
