I like that we are able to customize Salesforce based on our organization's needs. The reports and dashboards are also easy to set up and easy to read. I like that it connects to Outlook, you have the ability to set up tasks and reminders, that there is a Chatter feature, and that you can search multiple types of records at one time. My least favorite feature is how emails are organized. Not being able to mark them as current or not current...we could make a customization like this but it wouldn't sync properly with our Pardot system. While it is very customizable, the out-of-the-box system is pretty basic. Luckily we have a great administrator who is very savvy, otherwise it would be challenging. I think the best thing about Salesforce for Nonprofits is the availability and quality of community support - as well as support from Salesforce itself. I volunteer for a small nonprofit that used to use FileMaker to manage its contacts and annual fundraisers with silent and live auctions. After the FileMaker data was lost twice in less than a year, I investigated options and found Salesforce for Nonprofits. The only thing I dislike about Salesforce for Nonprofits isn't related to Salesforce itself; it's the insufficiency of integration with various mobile bidding platforms. But the inconvenience of manually moving data between Salesforce and whichever mobile bidding platform we're using is minor compared to the convenience and power that Salesforce for Nonprofits provides - at no cost to us. Unfortunately, my nonprofit did not have salesforce set up well, or the software just wasn't made for what we wanted. I spent hours entering new people and their email addresses from paper forms. It took much longer to add a large number of people that it could have, with a more streamlined input method.
