I think Pardot stands out when it comes to designing email templates. I've experienced little to no issues when inserting an HTML template that one of our designers made in Adobe Dreamweaver. I like how even after you embed, you can make changes in Pardot's email editor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My marketing automation experience started with Marketo.. and Marketo definitely has a lot more advanced settings that Pardot lacks. For example, cloning a program in Marketo is easy! You can set up a cloned program in less than 5 minutes! However, in Pardot, you can't do the same thing. You need to clone each individual asset which becomes a tedious and time consuming task.
Another aspect that I've recently struggled with, is how I'm unable to transfer lead data values with a smart campaign or automation rule like I could in Marketo. In Marketo, you were able to use tokenized values to sync data to different lead data fields. In Pardot, this is impossible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
