It showed active development and continuously launched new features. Its research assistant, combined with the reference manager, was a convenient way to conduct bibliographic searches and initial literature analysis quickly and efficiently. **What do you dislike about Logically?** Currently, I am not using the application. For some time now, the actual development has stopped. They have tried to hide their situation by launching features that no one asks for, removing features, or taking away features from users who supported them in their initial funding with their LTD accounts. The support and connection with users moved to Reddit, where, if you inquire about issues or give a respectful opinion, they revoke your permissions to continue sharing on Reddit. **What problems is Logically solving and how is that benefiting you?** Currently, it does not solve any problems that other applications in the niche do not solve. Their models and master prompts have remained outdated and they only update them when they start raising funds with campaigns on Lifetime deals sites. Additionally, as a reference manager, it became unusable by removing the document title field and only leaving the file name field (this was pointed out on Reddit a couple of months ago; their solution was to ban the user who made it visible on Reddit). ### 2. Since we work with a lot of sensitive content topics, it's always good to citate some valid sources at the end of our content. If you've ever tried researching medical stuff, you know how frustrating it is to find actual legitimate sources. Most AI tools just give you general info without telling you where it's from. That's because of the way, the AI calculates the next word. This also leads to a lot of hallucination. What I love about Afforai is that it actually digs into real research papers and tells you exactly where the info comes from. No more endless Google searches. The offering includes ample storage, AI models, and all features (chat, citation manager, markdown writer) and integration (MS Word) needed, as well as API at a fair price. The app appears to be in full development, so it could get better (but...). **What do you dislike about Logically?** ... it could also go wrong. As a researcher, I will always want to keep an offline backup and I will always want to collaborate with colleagues, both of which require Zotero, which we love. It's also where I would make my notes rather than online. One-way synchronization so that Afforai adds the AI, which a free open source app will not offer anytime soon, is therefor needed, and the import functionality doesn't offer this as of yet. It would be a killer feature. There is no app, which is not very problematic, but when using Afforai as a Safari link on iOS, the interface isn't very stable and is crowded with ads and a clippy-like help icon. This should be fixable. An app could also be nice and may help with downloading papers and synching with Zotero, but I can honestly live without it. The chat functionality is only text-based, which I regret as making pictures of tables in print or drawing conceptual models by hand and with flow charts is also very much part of my work flow. Finally, and most importantly, because this is about work and hence a serious matter, I honestly cannot stand the agressive marketing from AppSumo, making their products look like scam for a niche of naive nerds. I will be very happy if Afforai turns out to be a good product which will be widely used at research centers, but the sales method looks desparate to me and seems to hide product flaws, leading to buyer's regret. A good product sells itself without so much noise and glitter. I also found the app when looking for an AI solution to help going through the literature, as an alternative to Perplexity or Scite.ai, which are good but expensive and don't integrate our offline literature archive but cite whatever they have found for free. I did not buy it because AppSumo spammed me, yet now they do. For sure, it helps that the pricing is right, but that's not marketing, it's just fair business. **What problems is Logically solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use Zotero as a reference manager. Afforai is my tool for synthesising the literature, based on my own archive of peer-reviewed papers, and on whatever data AI models dispose of. ### 19. I like how I can store a reference directly after the AI search and how all references can be easily stored. I can create different projects and chats as I would in a typical nice LLM. The searching by specific references is extra handy and interesting. **What do you dislike about Logically?** The search by reference function is interesting but not quite up to standard yet. When I ask for a summary of a journal article on a topic (e.g., missing data), I am given an overly generic summary of the topic as a whole. It is not easy to summarize stored articles at this point. Also, I have the paid student plan, but I think the Free tier has very low storage and usage limits. The price for the student plan and all plans are more than reasonable, but the storage is so low in Afforai that I am hesitant to recommend it to friends. **What problems is Logically solving and how is that benefiting you?** I think Afforai is trying to integrate AI/LLMs into research and automate some of the research procedures. Additionally, the 5 GB of available space is substantial enough to upload books and documents, which can be organized into folders, allowing for separate chats for each topic **What do you dislike about Logically?** What I don't like about Afforai is that, for now, there isn't a mobile app, and you can only upload documents through a browser on a PC. Although switching the browser's compatibility mode to desktop allows me to do it, the interface isn't very user-friendly. That's Afforai, but it's even more amazing than that, if you think about it also as a repository for all of your research. This covers: Citation Research Organising And its use-cases are much more than that. But I have to be honest also, Tier 1 (on the App Sumo lifetime deal) is okay, but this product isn't worth it unless you get Tier 2. In fact, its the only Tier 2 product I've bought on here. Let me give you an example, I was reading a paper on "narrative interviewing", and the paper provided detailed instructions but it was difficult for me to visualise what a narrative interview looked like. I then made a comment using the Afforai notebook, asking Azure GPT 3.5 to explain it to me. It failed. I then asked Azure GPT 4o to do it, and not only did it accurately show me what a narrative interview looked like, but it made up a whole scenario with speaker one and two. Sometimes authors drop a date or event, and you don't know what they're talking about. Afforai helps with that too. You can read, highlight, annotate, get an AI summary, within the AI notebook. Then you can call up your Research Assistant, and ask it draw connections between all of the papers you've read. Want to share your knowledge on social media, or design an online course, it can do that too. You can also do entirely other stuff. Get a transcript of your podcast, and put it into Afforai, and it will draw out the key insights. **What do you dislike about Logically?** A desktop App would be great too. Things on the cloud can scare me sometimes. Imagine writing an entire PhD and relying on their servers. It's a scary thought if anything were to happen to Afforai (but this is an incredible product, that prospect feels unlikely). Things like Obsidian which entirely rely on markdown, or scrivener which downloads onto your own computer, provide the peace of mind that Afforai just doesn't yet. **What problems is Logically solving and how is that benefiting you?** It doesn't replace your research, it helps you draw connections that you might not have made. When I feel like using Claude or Chat GPT, I just switch it up based on my needs. To be honest, I tested Afforai before and decided to end my trial/subscription. Then, I wanted to test it again because I saw that the team was working hard to make improvements. I like that they are proactive and listen to their customers. **What do you dislike about Logically?** I do get errors every now and then, and it's frustrating because I try to come up with the best prompt, and then it disappears for no reason. It's not mobile-friendly, too.
