The platform communicates with our EMR, so that was a good thing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about AdvancedMD? The basics for billing are there, yet there is a lot that needs to get done that still requires us to have staff handle billing on our end. We were told to expect that all our billing needs would be met, that was not the case. We’ve had multiple changes to the person on their end responsible for our account. The call center had our patients on hold for as long as 45 minutes and we finally had to stop using that aspect of the service, we have felt as though there has been no support. We have to find the errors, in multiple years there has been no account review to find zero pays or accurate reimbursement from carriers; we have to do it ourselves. Not at all what we expected from our sales reps presentation. I have seen no efforts to make changes that benefit a business, ideas to improve their platform for their clients have been given. Nothing has changed. Any corrections we have to fix and email them to reprocess. I’ve met with other vendors that offer more business support, input carrier contracts, verify reimbursement is appropriate; so bi-annual scrubbing of claims to resubmit zero pays, etc. for less than what we pay. Recommendations to others considering AdvancedMD: Know exactly what needs you have, write them down, and get all their promises to meet those needs in writing. Not in their standard contract, in that contract there isn’t much offered. The sales rep will promise the moon, you’re getting the grass. Be prepared and assertive. It was very easy to find pull up patients by using different search queries. Ex. DOB, address, name etc. Also easy to input patient data, and create word documents from the data. This software can be used as a billing software for a variety of medical fields. It is not specific to one type of doctor and has a variety of ways in which you can customize schedule, statements, etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about AdvancedMD? This software takes a while to learn. It is not very intuitive. It has many “behind the scenes” settings that must be just right for it to work well with your office flow and for claims to be billed out correctly. It most compatible with Internet explorer which is not even downloadable if you use a Mac. This makes it so some reports are only accessible while using a PC with Explorer as they use Microsoft silver light which is only compatible with Explorer. I have been told that this will likely change in the future, but not given any kind of timeframe for that development to take place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. Our previous billing software did not have the capability of using the new CMS 1500 form that was compatible with ICD-10. Switching allowed us to continue billing medical claims. Although the software seems to be ever changing, we have had little issue with catching on quickly and learning how to best use it for maximum office wide communication. Even though deleting a wrong document is easy to do can also be bad once deleted you can't recover it also if a document is saved you can update it or revise it you need to start a new document.
