## AdRoll Reviews
  ### 1. Efficient Global Ad Campaigns with Seamless Setup

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vaivhav K. | Head of Growth, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2026

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I appreciate the great user experience with AdRoll, which makes acquiring users much easier and allows access to a global audience. It's cost-effective, and setting up new campaigns is fast and easy, minimizing time spent on operations or tooling. The performance of AdRoll is clear and consistently ties back to revenue, not vanity metrics. It reduces manual work, allowing for faster iterations and quicker decisions, which enhances my workflow.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Automated campaign can be better in audience targeting, especially with city-wise targeting.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use AdRoll to get users globally. It makes acquiring a global audience much easier. The fast setup allows launching new campaigns quickly, reducing manual work and speeding up decisions. Performance is easy to track, tying back to revenue.

  ### 2. Broken from Day One — 4 Months of Errors, No Resolution, and Wasted Ad Spend

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsay B. | marketing manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 30, 2025

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Not sure yet I can barely get the platform to work.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Since June 2025, AdRoll has been a nonstop cycle of errors, broken processes, zero delivery, and ineffective support. We were told to keep trying while paying for services that never worked. After being handed off to dozens of reps and waiting two weeks for “tech support” during active spend, we still don’t have a functioning setup. Do not recommend.

What Went Wrong (By Layer)
1) Core Product Reliability — Constant Break Errors

Repeated platform error blocking basic actions:
“Unable to save your information. Please try again or contact Support.”

Every time we fixed one step, something else broke (settings, integrations, or delivery). Progress was one step forward, two steps back for four straight months.

2) Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Integration — Never Worked

The Facebook/Instagram integration never functioned correctly from the start (June onward).

We were repeatedly told it was an “audience” issue, with no concrete guidance or resolution path.

Even after “credits” were provided and multiple troubleshooting rounds, the integration and saving ads still failed.

3) Campaign Delivery — Zero Activity Despite Budget

With a live campaign and approved ads, we saw 0 impressions / 0 clicks / 0 spend for days.

We were told to change to Impressions; the UI didn’t show an “Impressions” option where expected, causing more delays.

Eventually discovered AdRoll hides “impressions” under Ad Group → Optimization Strategy → Reach (CPM), while Campaign-level bid strategy (Highest Volume / Cost per Result / Bid Cap) is a different control. This UI/UX mismatch wastes time and causes misconfiguration.

4) Misleading/Confusing UI — “Bid Strategy” vs. “Optimization”

“Bid strategy” appears at Campaign level, but billing/optimization (Clicks vs Landing Page Views vs Reach/CPM) is at Ad Group level.

Support instructions (“switch to impressions”) didn’t match the UI language (no “Impressions” label in the dropdown; it’s called Reach).

This confusion directly contributed to the campaign not spending for days.

5) Support Experience — Ineffective, Slow, and Fragmented

We were passed between dozens of different reps with no continuity or ownership.

Two-week wait just to reach “tech support” — while campaigns were supposed to be spending.

Repetitive questions, contradictory guidance, and no root-cause fix.

No working escalation path until we began seeking executive contacts ourselves.

6) Financial Impact — Paying for a Non-Working Service

Months of wasted budget and time on a platform that never delivered basic functionality.

We were told to “keep trying” or to wait weeks for help — while our timelines (enrollment campaigns) were time-sensitive.

The “credits” offered didn’t resolve the underlying Meta integration or save errors.

Month-by-Month Snapshot

June 2025: Onboarding and Meta integration attempts begin. Immediate platform errors (“Unable to save your information”). Integration never functional.

July 2025: Multiple support threads; the go-to explanation becomes “it’s the audience” with no clear, actionable fix. No working integration.

August 2025: Hand-offs between many reps continue; no ownership. We keep troubleshooting the same items. No stable progress.

September 2025: Told to wait ~2 weeks for tech support while we’re running time-sensitive campaigns. Campaign shows zero delivery for days despite budget and approved ads. UI confusion over Impressions vs Reach and Campaign vs Ad Group settings further slows progress. Still not resolved.

Why We Don’t Recommend AdRoll

Reliability: Frequent, blocking errors on basic actions for months.

Integrations: Meta connection never stabilized; “audience” deflection instead of diagnostics.

Usability: Critical settings are buried or labeled inconsistently (Reach vs Impressions; campaign bid vs ad-group optimization).

Support: Slow, fragmented, and ineffective; weeks-long waits during active spend.

Cost: You will pay while you wait and re-explain your case to new reps.

Bottom Line: If your business depends on reliable social integrations, clear optimization controls, and responsive support (ours does), AdRoll is not a safe choice based on our experience from June–September 2025.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

they aren't solving anything. It's been 3 months of errors when i move on to the next step. more errors always telling me to contact support but their support is nonexistent. Worse company platform I've ever dealt with.

  ### 3. Disaster of a Company, Slow Support, Interface from 2007, Ads Never Ran

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brett H. | President, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2024

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Nothing, it never worked... ads never run.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Slow support, outdated interface, technical glitches abound. I fell for the name knowing it has been around for a while but sadlly learned they've been replaced by much better, faster, and newer companies doing more.

We signed up for an account months ago, installed the tracking pixel and imported audiences. Then let it do it's thing to 'populate' the audiences, etc.

Once we felt it had populated and had data, we spent a day creating Facebook ads before Christmas to run for an event for New Year's.

Imagine our surprise when days later it still said "under review." Contacting support, we were given vague and contradicting answers about them needing to review the ads or Facbook needing to review the ads (we were testing AdRoll alongside FB direclty and FB had approved the ads in hours), so after they stopped blaming Facebook then then starting claiming things weren't working in the backend and they "needed to set up an advertising account for me with Facebook."

Shouldn't that have been done when i signed up months ago? Not when I need the ads to run?

It took them 2 weeks to resolve the issue and finally got back to me on January 4 about ads I had started December 20.... well, the ads were for New Year's. On January 4th, they were happy to tell me the sistuation was resolved.

Long story short, don't rely on Adroll if you actually want your ads to run or expect support to be able to help.

Disaster.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None.

**Official Response from Steph Abe:**

> Brett, We're sorry to about your frustrating experiences. We strive to provide timely and effective support, and we regret that we fell short in your case. We take your feedback seriously, and will use it to improve our services.

  ### 4. Horrible Customer Sservice Experience

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon T. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 03, 2023

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

The potential that it was pay per use and ease of advertising

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

I have emailed customer service 15 times to stop sending me emails and no response. I still get an email saying I have to update an account I canceled 3 times. For a tech company they should be able to remove me from an email list or at least respond.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

creating ads on multiple platforms and deploying them quickly. For the scale that I worked on it did not work out well I am just trying to advertise on Facebook Google LinkedIn Instagram kind of the business basics

**Official Response from Steph Abe:**

> Hi Jon,

I sincerely apologize for the multiple emails you recently received from us, and I understand your frustration.

We were experiencing a bug that triggered an unintended flood of billing-related emails, and our team has successfully fixed the bug.

We understand the importance of communication, and we acknowledge that we fell short in this instance. It is not our standard practice to send multiple emails in a single day.

I confirm that you are not contactable from our CRM. If you have any further questions please reach out to community@adroll.com and I will assist you.

Kind Regards,
Steph A.

  ### 5. After their upgrade to new plans, the stopped accepting currencies other than USD.

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric A. | Co-Founder & CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I liked how you could manage campaigns in different platforms from a single place. After the update they made every integration stopped working so it is more like an email marketing platform with no added value.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Their customer service, their relluctance to accept when there is nothing they can do to retain the customer and just let the customer go.
Their platform allows subscriptions for other countries, but won't accept integrating with Google Ads, Facebook ads, Instagram ads or any other integration they have with a different currency other than USD, so they just charge for subscription.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was a good tool to launch retargeting campaigns.

**Official Response from Steph Abe:**

> Hi Eric,

Thank you graciously for your feedback. While it's great to hear AdRoll helped you launch retargeting campaigns, I am really sorry about your experience.

The AdRoll platform defaults to the US dollar (USD) and supports some, but not all, currencies. The currency can be changed from USD to the Australian Dollar (AUD), the Euro (EUR), the British Pound (GBP), or to the Japanese Yen (JPY). In order to change the currency, customers on the Advanced Package plan can reach our to their account manager to have the change made and customers on the Ads and Marketing & Ads Plus plans can reach out to support@adroll.com to have the change made.

I have shared your feedback and currency expansion request with the team. Thank you again!

Kind Regards,
Steph Abe
Sr. Customer Marketing Manager

  ### 6. The worst tech support that I've been in touch with!!

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2022

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

- Online chat
- Reporting
- Range of tools

Probably that's all from a good side that Adroll has. But it can't be compared with all those problems that they have...

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

I've been using Adroll for 6 months and the last 2 were a complete disaster and disappointment.
For the last 2 months, I wasn't able to create any new campaigns or upload any new creatives. Furthermore, the load time of new ad group creation increased from 30sec up to 5 min which significantly slowed down the whole process. I and my teammates were contacting Adroll support a few times per week for 45+ days and the only answer we got was "Or technical team is working on fixing those issues. We'll contact you once we'll get any updates".
It's already 2 months of waiting for any updates from Adroll support, 2 months of not launching new ad campaigns, and 2 months of disappointed clients...
This is one of the worst experiences that I and my team have ever met with programmatic advertisement.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Don't choose this platform if you want to be stuck with running your ads for more than 2 months...

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're running programmatic Advertising for pre-targeting ads for our clients using CRM lists. But for the last 2 months, We're unable to launch any new ads for our clients.

**Official Response from Steph Abe:**

> I appreciate your feedback. I am sorry to learn your experience has taken a turn in the last two months and am eager to see what we can do to flip it around. Please send me a note to customermarketing@adroll.com so that I can learn more and get you connected with the proper support to resolve any technical issues.Thank you again for your feedback, and I hope we connect soon.

  ### 7. Only an okay user experience and really not very good results

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2021

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I initially liked the ability to add a newsletter capture to our website, but it didn't work very well or consistently.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

The interface is fairly tedious to use and for a company of this size and reputation, I expected it to be much more fluid.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easy retargeting and display advertising. The results of both have been disappointing and expensive, with virtually no conversions on the traffic.

  ### 8. I would not be likely recommend AdRoll to colleagues.

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 29, 2021

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Comprehensive, third-party accessibility

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Not reliable at all, experience regular reporting issues

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Be sure that you're regularly tracking performance in GA and comparing conversions as we've experienced many issues with under/over-reporting through AdRoll.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retargeting paid media campaigns, performance reporting, conversions tracking

  ### 9. False Advertising

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 15, 2019

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Simple UI that was easy to find and navigate

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Limited verticals to operate with. Not really a viable option for an alternative display network and really just a service for managing re-marketing campaigns for you but with less control on how to optimize.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

If you are considering AdRoll please note that you can get better results using specialist that operate in the Google Display Network and FB ads market. This does not provide a new option for display networks but simply utilizes ones you already have access to.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Attempting to find a display network that allows re-marketing for an alcohol seller. This product advertised themselves as a solution for optimizing and implementing a re-marketing campaign but no where on their site do they list the verticals they supported. Their support team was unresponsive with our initial inquiries and when we signed up initially for the service they didn't flag our account based on our vertical. It wasn't after a training call was scheduled did we learn they use the same networks as Google, FB, and Bing/Yahoo meaning they do the same thing as every other agency. Don't use if you are looking for expanding or located new networks.

  ### 10. If you need help this is not the company for you

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ruta S. | CMO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 04, 2019

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

That the AI bot doesn't respond to you no matter what you try and say to it. I try to send in a Support Ticket but it references me back to the Ticket I am currently being ignored on.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Waiting over a week for the multiple members of my AdRoll Team to not respond to me. Shout out to Skyler & Joshua for their complete lack of help. At best we get a response every four to six days. Not like they have a problem taking my money during that time. But on average 4-6 days! Actual mail would move faster.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Don't do it. So many other options with way better support.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None. That is why we made the mistake of trying to contact Support.

  ### 11. Fraud

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Hospital & Health Care | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2019

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Their products is full of bugs and you wont know unless you use it.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

This is one of the worst advertising products.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

I will recommended not to use Adroll at any cost possible. If you want to please read all the reviews and consult with their past users.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of the worst product I had ever seen.

  ### 12. Worse customer service around

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Construction | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2018

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

At this stage nothing, to begin with it was easy to use and generating report was easy, now nothing is easy and you are dealing with people from India that are agents

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

We have been using Adroll for many years and have spent thousands with them. For years we have been receiving the same reports for our clients in the same standard with no issues at all. Sometime last year is seems they shifted their whole operation to India and at the same time they decided to change the format of our reports without consulting us. We could no longer send the new format because it contained confidential information and our clients insisted on the same report they have been receiving for years.
As such the Odyssey with Adroll started. First we went on chat to explain the issue, we were told to create a ticket which we did. No response. Followed up on chat with another agent from India, they asked us to send the report we wanted and the one we didn’t want, so we did. A new ticket was created. Then the reports changed to different format and still not the same one we had before. So again, onto the chat and again a new agent asking for the same things.
This is now one year ago and we have still not managed to deal with the right people who can sort this out for us. Every time we go onto the chat a new agent is there and the excuses are never ending as to why things went wrong and promises that it would be sorted. Still nothing sorted.
The last agent Soumya Y was actually helpful and he personally promised to get this sorted for us, so again another ticket was created and again he asked for all the reports which we supplied (5th time) two days later a reply is made to the ticket saying the following:
Hello Rudy,

Hope you are doing great!

I understand that you would like to receive reports in a particular format. Please share the format and also let us know if you do not wish to receive any report so that I can check and disable it from the backend.

Awaiting your response!

You can see why we are over Adroll, they clearly don’t have a ticket system that shares any history. To-date our issues are still not sorted which will now result in us moving away to other providers with better service and pricing. It’s a real shame you treat your clients this way. We will also be sharing this in a marketing forum we sponsor with over 5000 marketers, many of which also use Adroll.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Dont use them, once you have a problem, good luck!

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Re-targeting solution's

  ### 13. Trying to get around $3000 confirmed credit balance back IMPOSSIBLE AVOID AT ALL COST

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Apparel & Fashion | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 18, 2018

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Not much to be honest. The account manager when you launch is great and then that guy just disappears. They are geared to spend money quickly. The system is easy to launch and pixel also easy.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

The are terrible to refund you money that you are owed. The money is a confirmed credit balance however it takes countless emails and they still have not refunded. Its got to this stage where they claim they did not receive any emails although you get a confirmation that they received it. I would not trust this company with large campaigns maybe less then $1000.00 but big budgets forget it.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

avoid if you have a larget budget. Alarm bells are ringing at our company they have avoided paying out a $3000 credit balance. I guess very small budgets it might be okay but anything bigger I would strongly advise avoiding this company. Its the usual no email received although we have confirmations etc just terrible stick with the others. I would be surprised if they are still around in a few years

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I target quiet a few visitors in a short time. I prefer Facebook retargeting at least with them you know they are financially secure and they will not mess around with money owed.

  ### 14. Extreme low confidence with CRM Re-targeting

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2018

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Adroll does a decent job at web retargeting for lead gen. But it has been about 2+ years and things may have changed with their capabilities.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Running a CRM campaign retargeting audiences in our CRM database (marketo) and there is zero reach to our targeted audience as confirmed by our Marketo instance but their platform shows 18 engagements. However, we are seeing 84 anonymous leads click through meaning they're reaching outside of our target audience. What's funny is we have an inactive facebook campaign but yet it's somehow delivering ads. It's very strange. I do not trust that Adroll is actually reaching this set of email audience and have paused the campaign.

FYI - Do know that you have to END the campaign so that you're not billed further but ending the campaign would require you to build up from scratch.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Look elsewhere first. Do a quick, inexpensive test.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Very basic. CRM list / Email Re-targeting to nurture prospects. AdRoll struggles.

  ### 15. Adroll review

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** joe m. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 21, 2018

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I dont like adroll, we stopped using it a few months ago and started using perfect audience.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Adroll will charge you money even if your ads don't spend it. So you potentially end up with a large amount of money in adroll.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Don't use it. use perfect audience instead.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Remarketing display ads.

  ### 16. Platform is Okay, Customer Service is Poor

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2018

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

The platform is easy to setup and use for retargeting.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Customer service is horrible. Don't expect anyone to fix anything for you quickly even if you are in the agency tier and spend quite a bit of money. Was told I could expect a fix in 1 business day, took almost two months.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Adroll is an easy to use retargeting platform. You can be setup and running within a day. However, don't expect quality customer service. Hard to get anyone to actually pick up the phone to call you. Reps seem scared of the phone. Even when management steps in the service is mediocre at best. Takes too long to resolve issues.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retargeting.

  ### 17. Confusing UI and small feature set

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

What I like best about AdRoll is that it connects directly to our marketing automation software.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

- The user interface is difficult to use
- The interface also AdRoll-specific language and not the industry standards
- The feature set is limited
- It's difficult to set up remarketing audiences
- The documentation is not detailed/doesn't answer the questions I have

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use AdRoll for lead generation via remarketing ads. The benefits are low-cost ads shown to custom audiences (however that's a standard benefit across all remarketing banner ads).

  ### 18. Watch your budget limits

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Clayson S. | General Manager, Computer Software, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2017

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

The user inferface was easy to use and provided good insights. into customer interactions. Initial setup was easy and they walked us through that.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

We have used AdRoll for almost 2 years now and had been very happy with them. We had seen some changes in our site traffic and the conversion and ROI on our AdRoll retargeting campaigns began to suffer. We scaled back our advertising dollars until we could optimize the ads and get back to having a profitable campaign. Once we scaled back our budget we realized that the next week they were charging us almost double what our budget was. When I contacted support they said the budget didn't match the amount of visitors to your site and so our algorithm exceed the budget to accommodate the other visitors. When asked what if they could set a hard budget line and give us a refund for the over spent amount (only about $50) they said the only solution was to increase our budget, and they would not give us a refund.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It was very useful in the beginning to however it wasn't flexible enough for us as our needs changed.

  ### 19. A Cautionary Tale About Using AdRoll

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Adam L. | Founder, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 06, 2017

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Full service management and increased access to premium inventory were big selling points, but not a single campaign went live through our AdRoll reps without tracking errors, billing issues and lack of follow-through from their account teams. Our spend levels were high, which makes me wonder how much worse the customer service would have been if we were just spending a few thousand dollars per month.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Despite what they claim, AdRoll's interface is inefficient and their customer service is beyond awful. Classic over-promise and under-deliver. The overall experience was super frustrating and ended up being a huge waste of time for my company. They have managed to be successful despite the bad UI and inept account teams because they have become too big to fail. Not to mention we had 6 contacts in 4 months with little-to-no knowledge transfer.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

I highly recommend looking elsewhere for retargeting solutions. It may have started out as a leader, but it has become a big, slow, poorly managed organization. Their support teams are overworked and under-qualified, so it's really not realistic to rely on them. This would be ok if the interface was more efficient, but it's slow and very manual.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were looking for a programmatic ad platform to help manage and optimize our client's remarketing campaigns. The performance they reported was strong, but after looking at Google Analytics and other measurement tools, it became obvious that AdRoll's attribution model gives their ads far more credit than they deserve.

  ### 20. Horrid Service Soo Far

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alan H. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 27, 2017

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Hard to say, sales rep was nice I guess.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Started to use on Tuesday, have not been able to login since then, myself or others in my office who have separate accounts. Tried daily and have been emailing back and forth with Tom and Hollie our sales rep and her manager. Tom says tech support is working on it, for days really?? Changed the card on file for the service yet it billed the old card somehow! If the company can't manage you being able to login, very concerned about their capabilities

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Trying them for retargeting.

  ### 21. Not worth the illusion of ease

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hira M. | Sr Mgr, Operations Digital Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 01, 2017

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

AdRoll has a really simple interface which was easy to use.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Their customer service is sub-par. They have this "chat support" that is VERY underwhelming. If you have a very simple question, it is beneficial. However, once we started to experience technical errors on the system's part and not user error, that's when my experience went to alright to "I never want to book money with this system again". You never get any contact information, or a support ticket or anything that you'd assume to get with any digital platform you work with. It's been extremely frustrating and now there has been broken trust.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Find another company.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our client utilizes a lot of different digital platforms to reach prospective students, we want to try to capture their attention as much as possible. I've noticed through analytics that retargeting has helped to boost our efforts greatly and I will continue to search for a simple software we can trust.

  ### 22. Over promised and under delivered

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 31, 2017

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

In theory that they had their own prospecting database and would do all the work to manage retargeting campaigns.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

From start to finish what was promised was not delivered - first was the results they expected. In our initial conversations they were very positive but still "underestimated" expected results, to cover themselves I'm sure. Despite the low predictions the actual results were far below even that. The majority of the "conversions" we saw were post-click, and not verified by our marketing system which tracks up to 90 days. Facebook ads had zero results, prospecting was all post-click, and retargeting conversions were most successful from visitors to our trial signup page - which is false since at that point they'd already signed up so the conversion was not actually attributable to adroll.
Further we were told on multiple occasions during the sales cycle and onboarding that we would have regular follow ups with the team and they would be constantly working to improve our stats. After the initial call 2 weeks into launch we never heard from them. We had to follow up and ask what was going on after our conversions dropped to nothing in the second month, they scrambled and made excuses and still nothing changed - and no further efforts to follow up or make adjustments to the campaigns.
Overall a huge disappointment.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Be very wary of their promises and keep an eye on the metrics - you can't rely on what they say they are getting for conversions, their definition of a conversion is skewed and in our experience the majority are post-click conversions that never actually made it through to the marketing site and therefore couldn't be verified (but you still pay for them).

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We were trying to offload the work of managing retargeting campaigns and improve results. No benefits realized, just wasted time and money.

  ### 23. Facebook does it better now...

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 22, 2016

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Could provide unique realestate for display ads and reach corners of the web that Google or Facebook didn't own. Relatively painless segment creation process. Account manager was solid and receptive to our needs.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Very poor ROAS for both view through conversions and direct conversions. Default conversion windows are deceptively broad. The interface was clunky and not intuitive at all, very difficult to roll up different campaigns and see performance.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Use UTM tags to track your campaigns. Do not rely on their reporting.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Finding more ROI positive remarketing channels for a clothing retailer. The benefits of Adroll were awareness and direct sales, they just weren't within our confines for positive return.

  ### 24. Stopped using it

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brittany L. | Real Estate Agent, Real Estate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 13, 2017

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Good for ads on Facebook, easy to pull up reports

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Separate login from our Facebook account, harder to keep track of spending

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Just use Facebook Business Manager

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have started to use FB Business Manager instead so that we can track ads in one place

  ### 25. Not for a power marketer

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2017

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

Simple UI - doesn't allow for much optimization but it's good for noobies.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

No levers to pull or control over your marketing dollars. Little transparency (industry standard).

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

If you're confused by more tech savvy marketing platforms, use Adroll. They'll take control and take your money.

  ### 26. Beware of Sales Reps Placing Additional Charges on Your Credit Card

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 18, 2016

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

It's a very streamlined easy program to use. Their chat team is very service focused.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Their sales reps do not speak English well and they call and email to upsell you constantly. Then, because they do not understand that "no" means "no" and they are focused on making their sales quote they will charge your card extra for extra programs that you haven't asked for or approved.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Be very careful. Their sales reps have access to charge on your card for you to "try" programs. All they're doing is making sales quote and then you get the "surprise" of unauthorized charges on your credit card. The chat team will help refund those charges to you but get ready to spend some time doing it. And, be very, very diligent and check the charges you get from Adroll to make sure to get refunded the charges that were placed without your consent.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamlined retargeting.

  ### 27. Worst communication and customer service I've ever experienced

**Rating:** 0.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2015

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

I don't have to manage my retargeting ads manually, but our account manager was horrendous and it was impossible to talk to anyone but her.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

Communication and follow-through, especially during onboarding, was so terrible I felt like I was on a reality show.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

The tool itself is pretty intuitive. However, my confidence in the company is at rock bottom because of the incompetence of people I've dealt with. In the beginning, they set us back quite a bit with several screw ups.

Here's where it gets nitpicky, but it didn't help that our account manager always had typos in her emails- she would say "adds" instead of "ads", and they're an ad company! On separate occasions we tried to coordinate a google hangout and sharing files via dropbox; she had never heard of either, which was unsettling since they're a tech company. These issues weren't deal breakers, but we should have seen them as red flags early on.

All in all, I would look elsewhere for your retargeting needs.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Hard to say. I started using Adroll to save time and maximize delivery from our retargeting ads. The only emails I get from them are telling me how much I have paid. There is no guidance on how to optimize campaigns. I would probably be spending more money with them if they would keep me updated on new opportunities within my account. As a small marketing team, we don't have the time to dig into this ourselves on a regular basis.

  ### 28. Unnecessary with new ad structure

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Food & Beverages | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2014

**What do you like best about AdRoll?**

The GUI for ad management is great and clear.

**What do you dislike about AdRoll?**

The whole service is no longer necessary (for us) w new Fb Ad structure / management.

**Recommendations to others considering AdRoll:**

Good if you aren't comfortable managing Facebook pixel directly.

**What problems is AdRoll solving and how is that benefiting you?**

How to market to our social base / expand said base.
