My mother told me if I had nothing nice to say... **What do you dislike about ADP Workforce Now?** Our implementation process was a joke. There were some good employees on the ADP team, but the implementation specialist didn't know the basics, fed us misinformation, configured our system wrong in multiple ways that still have not been repaired, including when it comes to government remittances. She insisted that the system would be fixed up after implementation, 6 months on despite multiple requests we still can't use the basics we are paying for. There was little to no communication between implantation team members causing us to waste time repeating the same information over again. The training is heavy and frankly a waste of time. Could be so much more efficient. It's overly complicated to enter pay information pertaining to holiday and vacation pay for commission based employees or those who work overtime. With all the new cloud-based payroll and HRIS on the market there is no excuse for such a cumbersome application. Hate is a strong word, but that's the first one that comes to mind when I think of ADP WFN. **What problems is ADP Workforce Now solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were looking to streamline payroll processes and create an HRIS. All this did was create more problems and a time vacuum. ### 2. They also process our garnishments and do the new hire reporting to the state. **What do you dislike about ADP Workforce Now?** Even though it is one system, there are many things that require double or even triple entries for one change. If you have an issue, you may have to talk to several different people to get anything resolved. Most reps that you talk to know less about how the system works than you do. I have had several conversations where I have to walk them through how to do something or while they are trying to figure it out, I have it solved before they do. **Recommendations to others considering ADP Workforce Now:** ADP Workforce Now is sold as one system, however, it is really more than one with all the double entry needed to make things work correctly. I did like the way the payroll dashboard displayed various aspects of where we were in Payroll and some key metrics, like the total number of pays, employees who aren't getting paid, etc. I also liked the payroll comparison feature that allowed me to compare a previous payroll against the current one to ensure I didn't miss something. Most of my employees are salaried and payroll typically is pretty standard.. so if I saw a variance I knew something was wrong. **What do you dislike about ADP Workforce Now?** Getting data out of the system is troublesome. In some cases, like creating custom fields and entering data, you have to wait for 24 hours before the field is updated in the reporting repository. When something goes wrong, and it usually will, getting technical support is an issue. ADP is a big company and finding the right area for support is troublesome. **Recommendations to others considering ADP Workforce Now:** Really focus on their customer support to make sure you're going to be able to get the right level of support you need. **What problems is ADP Workforce Now solving and how is that benefiting you?** We switched to ADP HR and Benefits in 2014 after using them for Payroll for a much longer period of time. Shortly after we switched to ADP, we change our Recruitment platform due to functionality issues with ADP and also Performance Management. With ADP, we were able to keep our HR department small as they handled COBRA, Benefit Administration, Background Checks, etc. for us. ### 4. Their service sucks. However the site is confusing, lacks important info, and generates a lot of frustration for our HR person and individuals. We had a representative from the company come to give us a training, but she provided very little helpful info. **What do you dislike about ADP Workforce Now?** The site is confusing, doesn't provide all the information we would like it to, and is hard to use. The time off scheduling is confusing and difficult to make sense of. In theory we should be able to use it to take some of the administrative work off of our HR manager's workload, but in practice we have to reach out to her constantly for answers to questions, which generally requires her to reach out to our contact there. The application had the ability to handle simple to very complex payroll processes. Their understanding of payroll rules and regulations throughout the country is what makes them stand apart from other applications. They have the ability to continue to expand the payroll pieces of the application faster and more efficient than other applications. **What do you dislike about ADP Workforce Now?** The ancillary areas that ADP has adopted over the years from M&A and product expansion has left customers wanting more. The lack of ownership on most of the application makes it hard for most companies to take ownership of their business and data. ADP began as a service industry for payroll and it shows with the way that the application is configured. ADP has worked with the new Vantage product to resolve some of the issues but it still does not check all of the boxes. One of the major areas where ADP is not a true competitor in the HCM industry is in the reporting. The reporting is limited and doesn't allow for companies to scale easily. **Recommendations to others considering ADP Workforce Now:** I would really look at your setup and determine if you want a system that does more than just payroll. For example, disciplinary actions for supervisors are not tracked in the peformance dashboard after they are initiated. There is not a simple way to track entire department vacation schedules. We have tried to work with several services that they have and it seems like they just drag their feet. Nothing ever gets done in their estimated time frame. We have had many instances where applicants are not able to apply online and when I have called in to get this checked out - they only offer the solution of telling them to try a different web browser. If you are asking people to use a different web browser then there is something wrong with how ADP is being hosted and need to update their software. There is no customization to the application. We are leaving the ATS system and getting Jobvite for this purpose. On top of that every time you call in to the service center for any help you feel uncertain if you have gotten the right answer.
