"Straightforward, Fast Paycheck Visibility—Free and Easy for Employees"
5/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

I love the fact that I can see what my paycheck is when payday hits. It's straightforward, easy to find, and quick to load (depending on what internet is available). And it's free for employees to use. If I were a business owner, I'm sure there are fees to use it. There's no AI that I'm aware of, and I have not needed to use the support yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

It was difficult for me personally. I tried three different methods to log in before I had to contact my HR manager for help. She walked me through it, and it was a method I had already tried. For some reason, the app could not find my phone number or email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"ADP TotalSource: Easy to Use, Great Rep, and a Truly All-in-One Package"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

My business rep at ADP TotalSource is the best. Anytime I have an issue, which isn't often, if she can't find the answer, she finds the person who does. ADP is easy to use and employees are helpful. I really like the new interface that they have. It makes it simple to get things done, and to switch between myself as an employee, and as an administrator. Since ADP is a Total package, we don't have to worry about integrations with other packages. ADP TotalSource can do it all. The pricing seems fair for what we get. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

My only complaint is the 800 number. Some of the employees could use a little more training before being put on the phones. I get that there is a lot to learn, but not feeling confident in an answer isn't great from the employer perspective. If you ask to be transferred to someone else, they will do it though, unlike other vendors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One People Ops Coverage"

What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

I like that I feel like I'm covered in all aspects of people operations. Taxes, payroll, HR, 401k etc. When looking at trying to piecemeal these functionalities together, it was costly and a bare to manager. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

I dislike that they aren't very organized with other functions outside of HRBP. The HRBP handles a lot for the customer, so things can get lost easily. You don't really see a lot of action that happens on the back end so it leaves questions sometimes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"ADP Work Force System and Portal Review 2026"
3.5/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

It is integrated now that I was able to take care of Payroll and HR in one portal without having to call the hot line.

There is still bugs such as when you set up a filter and it is not saving the filter, so you have to reset it all the day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

The consistency of the training of the HR rep - If your rep is on the ball then your life is better otherwise it is hard to get things done right - Same for the Payroll rep - Now we are at the right place where both reps are responding and help the company to tackle all different kind of issues. "Plenty of Resources and Helpful Support When You Need It"
4/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

There are a lot of resources, both human and documented, which allow me to solve problems with relative ease. Obviously, if I reach out to my HR rep or my Payroll rep, the option to speak with someone else who can help goes a long way Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

If I'm being honest, I feel I'm hit with emails way too often. I'm extremely busy, so I naturally have to tune out a lot of them and it makes it likely I could miss something important. I understand there's a lot of important information, but very seldom is it apply to me, so perhaps I could select the type of information I recieve or the frequency of these emails. "User-Friendly, Secure, and Constantly Improving!"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

I really like using ADP TotalSource because it's easy to access and print important documents like tax information and W-2s, past investments, or any other necessary documentation using AirDrop to a local printer. It's also convenient for providing pay information when needed, such as for a loan, without the hassle of contacting my employer. It's very easy to use, and I find features like being able to make changes regarding health care, insurance charges, or investment updates without reaching out to my company very valuable. The ease of the initial setup is also a plus, as it was simple yet secure, with personal information protection in place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

Sometimes when I'm using the ADP TotalSource app, logging in can be a bit of an issue, but not a major one. There have been a couple of times where I haven't been able to get into the app due to recognizing issues with the username and password. However, updates have been made, and using your phone number to enter a code is a definite benefit. Since making those changes, the app has become more easily accessible. "All-in-One HR Solution with Room for Navigation Improvement"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

I like how convenient it is to have payroll, benefits, and HR information all in one place with ADP TotalSource. I value the payroll processing, employee self-service, benefits administration, and reporting features. I appreciate that it reduces the manual effort involved in payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, and HR compliance. It keeps employee information centralized and consistent across systems, especially with the integrations for accounting, reporting, and time tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

I find the overall navigation challenging as some features and settings can take a little time to find. The navigation could be improved by reducing the number of clicks needed to reach commonly used features like payroll, benefits, reports, and employee information. "All-in-One PEO for Payroll, Benefits, and HR—Streamlined Self-Service with ADP TotalSource"
4/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

We use ADP TotalSource regularly for payroll processing, time and attendance, employee onboarding, benefits administration, retirement plan administration, HR support, and compliance resources. The biggest value for us has been having all of these services available through a single PEO relationship, rather than managing separate vendors for each HR function.

In day-to-day use, the UI and overall experience are generally workable once you learn where everything lives. Managers can review timecards, run payroll, access reports, and manage employee information online. Employees can use the mobile app to view pay statements, access tax documents, review benefits, and manage basic account details on their own. That level of employee self-service reduces the number of routine requests our administrative team needs to handle. That said, navigation is not always intuitive, and moving between payroll, timekeeping, benefits, and reporting can take more steps than expected.

The integration between time and attendance and payroll is one of the most useful parts of the system. Employee hours flow into payroll, which reduces manual entry and helps us manage a workforce with different roles, schedules, pay rates, overtime rules, and paid-leave categories. The broader integration experience is more uneven. While ADP’s payroll, benefits, retirement, and HR services are connected under the TotalSource relationship, they can still operate like separate departments and require manual coordination.

Performance is generally reliable for routine payroll processing, even when we are reviewing a larger volume of employee timecards and pay records at once. Payroll calculations, direct deposits, pay statements, and standard reports are usually handled consistently. Where reliability has been weaker is in resolving unusual payroll or account issues. We have had problems stay open across multiple payroll cycles despite repeated follow-up.

Pricing reflects the breadth of services included in the PEO model, but our return on investment has been mixed. ADP provides payroll processing, benefits administration, HR guidance, compliance resources, reporting, and employee self-service tools, which reduces the need to maintain several completely separate systems. However, the overall cost is harder to justify when our internal team still has to spend significant time coordinating between departments or repeatedly following up on unresolved issues.

Onboarding provided the core training and resources we needed to get started. Ongoing support has varied depending on the representative. Some ADP contacts have been knowledgeable and extremely helpful, especially when we could reach someone already familiar with our account. Other issues have required multiple emails and escalation. The support experience would be stronger with clearer ownership, faster follow-up, and a single point of contact who can coordinate issues across payroll, benefits, billing, and HR.

I have not found ADP’s AI or intelligent automation to be a major source of value. Automated payroll calculations, reporting, employee notifications, and self-service features are helpful, but no specific AI-powered capability has stood out in our regular use. AI-based payroll anomaly detection, proactive error alerts, smarter account-specific search, and more intelligent support routing would be valuable improvements in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

The biggest issue we have faced is the lack of transparency around pricing. Within the PEO model, there are multiple fees, charges, and recurring invoices that can be difficult to identify and reconcile. We pay certain fees calculated as a percentage of payroll, but the effective percentage has changed without a clear explanation or advance notice. When we asked for clarification, the answers were often vague or noncommittal, making it difficult to forecast costs and evaluate the true value of the service.

Administrative fees are also invoiced separately from payroll. We asked whether those invoices could be aligned with one of our regular payroll withdrawals to simplify reconciliation and cash-flow planning, but ADP was unwilling to accommodate the request.

When our benefits renewal came up, we were presented with a 26% increase and no meaningful alternative options. For comparison, another PEO provided an initial quote that was more than 33% lower. That difference reinforced our concern that we were not receiving competitive pricing or enough assistance exploring alternatives.

Reporting is another significant frustration. ADP offers a large number of reports, but the reporting interface is not intuitive. Creating even a relatively basic customized report can be unnecessarily complicated, and finding the correct fields, filters, and report type often feels like it requires specialized technical knowledge. The number of reporting options is impressive, but that does not provide much practical value when the tools are so difficult to navigate.

Customer support has also been inconsistent. Some representatives have been helpful, but complex issues often require repeated emails, multiple departments, and escalation. We have experienced payroll-related problems that remained unresolved across multiple payroll cycles, with limited proactive communication or clear ownership. Too much of the burden falls on the customer to continue following up and coordinating between ADP’s internal teams. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Not perfect, but worth it"
4/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

Probably the single best thing about ADP Totalsource is that they take care of all the regulatory stuff around taxes and any new tax-law changes, or even medical-law requirements that come up. It’s incredibly annoying to have to constantly update everything in an OUTRAGEOUSLY overcomplicated tax system, so having ADP handle it for you is really nice. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

Having to reach out and talk to people over the phone feels cumbersome—not because the people aren’t helpful, but because it takes so many steps just to actually get connected with a person. On top of that, the wait times can be super long sometimes. Ideally, I would LOVE an easily accessible live chat option instead. That way, I could share screenshots with support and get direct help through the web. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"All-in-One Payroll, HR, and Work Comp With Great After-Hours Employee Support"
4/5
What do you like best about ADP TotalSource?

All in one platform. Payroll and HR assistance as well as Work comp coverages for a lower cost in comparison to quoting it out as a small company are very nice to have all in one place. In addition having the support for our employees to be able to call and get one on one assistance as needed after our business hours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ADP TotalSource?

The work force platform does not give as many details the old view with regards to being able to assists our employees - for example I can no longer rest passwords or view log in ID's. Instead we have to call in to the 800 number. The 800 number doesn't seem to be all agents in the USA any longer which takes more time as well to communicate.
