## Adobe Photoshop Reviews
  ### 1. Great AI Design Tools, but the Subscription Pricing Is a Drawback

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

I like the access to the AI tools that make designing quicker and easier.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

The price point. Paying for a subscription is a real disadvantage. As a business owner, I am looking to get away from subscriptions and own what I purchase.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

None, I do not use Adobe products anymore.

  ### 2. Much too expensive

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dyrck L. | Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2025

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

It is extremely capable and is the industry standard

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

THe subscription too expensive for what it is. There are other products with similar capabilities that cost to but not much more than a couple of months subscription to Photoshop.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Retouching images

  ### 3. Does the job but I hate the subscription model

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dick L. | Mr, Marketing and Advertising, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

It is very capable at editing my photos. It has many features that work well with Adobe Lightroom Classic (I'll call that "Lightroom" from here onwards). I tend to use Lightroom for most of my photo editing and organising, and switch to Photoshop for more significant amendments, such as removing larger distracting objects, or applying colour gradients. I found that Lightroom was fairly intuitive to learn, but that Photoshop has a much steeper, less intuitive, learning curve. It was quite easy to implement. Customer support is OK, but not especially good compared to other software. There are many reources available on YouTube that are, in my opinion, better than Adobe's own customer support. I am a regular user of both Photoshop and Lightroom. Lightroom and Photoshop work well in conjunction with each other, and also with other software as plug ins.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

It seems to be way too heavily focused on making their customers pay more and there's too much AI involved for my liking. They regularly asked me to provide feedback about why I wasn't prepared to recommed their product to my friends. I told them in every survey that they are too expensive and I'd only recommend their product if it was significantly less expensive. They completely ignored my feedback and are now about to increase their prices even further. I think I will soon stop subscribing and swith to Affinity instead.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photoshop provides a wide range of photo editing tools that, once learned, are very helpful to have. Although Lightroom can do most of the routine editing more efficiently, it is good to be able to take a photo from Lightroom to Photoshop in a pretty seamless fashion where more signinfican edits can be appiled. I also use Photroshop to design my logos, favicons and mock-ups.

  ### 4. Too hard to use

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jon D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Not much however it does have a large range of applications that can be helpful for creatives - I am probably not the target market

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Not aware if I can just sign up for the app/s I need. Also not keen on a subscription based service versus their old one-off purchase offer

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It doesn't solve many problems for me. It is handy having all of the apps available to me but I rarely ever used them.

  ### 5. Used to be awesome

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nathaniel H. | Customer Care Professional, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

The editing power and its many uses for editing different styles of photographs. It used to be a wonderful program.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Since the last 3 updates, I have had nothing but issues. I have been extremely patient, but now I am spending more time on the issues with photoshop than actually being able to use it. It crashes constantly, or it will overlap pictures and try to make edits to pictures it decides to layer and will not let me go back to previous edits. So I am forced to shut it down. When it crashes ( and it seems to be at least 3-5 times in a 5-hour period) it comes up with restored images. But the problem with the restored images is that it only saves the crop and no other edits. I pay too much for this service to have these issues. Try out infinity photo or gimp instead of photoshop. You will have far less issues.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Go elsewhere until they can figure out how to fix the issues and not cause them, used to work great.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are not solving any problems, they are creating them with whatever rushed updates they are doing.

  ### 6. Photoshop is for people who like paying every month for an antique user interface & ok beta features

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** John D. | Director Of Strategic Communications, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 26, 2022

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

It's basically the industry-standard graphic editor. Some of the beta features are really interesting but mostly impractical for daily workflows. The only reason to pay monthly/yearly for Photoshop is if your company requires you to use it and they are paying for it.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

The subscription model is the absolute worst thing about Adobe products. The age of Photoshop is evident in the legacy layout and "features" that have been hanging around with little to no innovation.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

There are better options that have modern UI, convenient customizable features, and are not subscription-based. If you are considering Photoshop, especially if you have never used Photoshop, I would recommend looking at Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo first. After using Photoshop for decades, I installed a trial of Affinity Designer, ended up paying for a license before my trial ended, and have never opened Photoshop again.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photoshop helps keep me stuck in a rut of grinding out the same ol' stuff because it's so comfortable after using it for decades. I've realized the ROI leaves much to be desired.

  ### 7. Adobe Photoshop Review!

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lewis S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

The business standard, there isnt much you can't do with Photoshop. Inrementally better every year, Smart substance arrangements are extremely fascinating

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

insufficient legitimate help for 3D finishing, awful that all the best business apparatuses are there however you need to utilize a third part answer for surface a 3D object. Doesnt run on Linux which is disappointing.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Comprehension of the utilization of easy routes makes the activity simpler.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Really the main element complete programming so we use it for a large portion of our picture control needs. No 3D surface help is the principle special case.

  ### 8. Amazing tool that unfortunately is not user friendly

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 01, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

The amount of tools available to edit and work in images, the quality of this tools and how complex they are at the same time giving you the freedom to work in your images with many choices

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

How the program Is hard for beginers and even harder tô master with a interface that is not user friendly for those that are starting with image editing

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Incredible tool that gives almost endless possibilities and provides a huge gamma of choices. But unfortunately is hard to use and not user friendly for begginers

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The program, after I got used to it, gave me a vast catalogue of choices and possibilities at editing and improving my photos and images. It Is the best program I have seen for photos.

  ### 9. Not Newbie Friendly

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 20, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

If you know the program it’s great to edit photos with. There’s so many features that are at your fingertips to use.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

This is not user-friendly whatsoever. You need to be incredibly versed in Photoshop in order to maximize your experience with it. It can also be quite pricey.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Research a lot before using

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s been a couple of years and I’m still trying to figure out how to use it. I have to YouTube a lot in order to figure out how to use some of the Photoshop tools.

  ### 10. It's pretty expensive now

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Scott F. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 04, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Well established, ease of use, ability to export images in multiple formats, updated a lot, cross platform compatability.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

The price. The move to subscription based payment. No native Linux distribution.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

If you need Photoshop, it may be worth having a look at Pixlr as an alternative. Adobe's expensive business pricing subscription plan really annoyed me.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most people will know what Photoshop is and how to use it for various image manipulation tasks.

  ### 11. Please bring back perpetual licenses Adobe

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** dave s. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 03, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

It is still the standard for photo editing. It is great software.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

creative cloud, I dont mind a subscription set up but bring back product licenses as an option so I can pay for my software upgrades when I choose, for example when you do enough as far as updates to make that upgrade valid. The software is good, but the lack of being able to purchase perpetual licenses is just horrible for customers but good for adobe. We cant allow software companies this much control over the software we use daily.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Until Adobe decides to bring back options for perpetual licenses (if they ever decide to do so), make sure to look into other options.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have been using since the early 90s. It is the standard for photo editing.

  ### 12. Edit picture by yourself

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sharmila S. | HR Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

I can edit my own pictures the way I want

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

It's expensive to buy a licenced software

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I do my own editing rather than going for professional help, coz its expensive

  ### 13. not as good as before

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Xidong Z. | Lead Member Of Technical Staff, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 02, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

good for phtoshop people's picture and nature views, but not for new

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

more expensive and greedy in the market, not many users any more

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

for touch the picture

  ### 14. Well thought out. Always nice to use.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Machinery | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

The most helpful is layeringS. I also utilize the "save for web' feature. I do web development so when I need to export assets that my designers have created, this is very useful for me. I also like adjusting the resolution and this has always been seamless. Since the web ready images don't need to be high in resolution, I like faster load times so this is why I use the feature.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

I dislike the fact that you don’t have to hold shift anymore to scale something proportionally. The least helpful for me is 3D just because I don’t use it.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Read the instructions and tutorials before use . I highly recommend the tutorials because although monotonous, it gives you the knowledge you need to perform your daily tasks.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has given me the ability to not have to rely on others for images thus increasing efficiency throughout my workday. I don't have to constantly wait on others knowing that I have the ability to do it.

  ### 15. Best photo editing application out there

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Broadcast Media | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

The ease and quality of this program for photo editing and being able to quickly sync documents between the creative cloud

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Exporting images can be tricky sometimes to try and get the right quality. Also it can be hard to learn all of the tools in the beginning

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Make sure to learn all of the shortcuts to make your life a lot easier

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photo editing and photoshopping

  ### 16. good but slow

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Capital Markets | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

graphics and the abuility to shaire many

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

speed and its so slow to use and crashed all other apps

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

branding and keeping with brand image

  ### 17. Great if your a pro with computers not for beginners.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Sports | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

It has an endless supply of options, is easy to import and export things.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

I found it really challenging to use. I am pretty beginner level when it comes to computers and I found the instructions were not enough to make it usable for me.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Make sure that whoever is using it has plenty of time to review it and become familiar with the program it takes quite a bit of time to be able to use it confidently.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it to custom design clothing for our company, I found that since it is such a widely used program their were lots of youtube tutorials to help me when I ran into issues.

  ### 18. It is not very user friendly.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 18, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

All of the features that are available to use are great.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

The product is extremely difficult to use and hard to learn I suggest taking a class if you chose to use Photoshop. I think it is worth it if you do learn the software to its full abilities.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Know what you're getting into and that it takes a lot of patience to learn. If you take the time to learn the software, it is well worth it, but I suggest taking a class if you decide to put the money into it. I have seen many people pay the money for the software, but it is not one that you can teach yourself. It really takes a professional to make you understand it thoroughly. If you aren't good with computers at all, I do not suggest this product. It is very difficult to use for the person that IS good with computers.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I photoshop things such as lighting into rendered photos from Revit. It is good for lighting and manipulating images to look like you want them to. You can crop and change photos in other softwares, but not like you can when using photoshop.

  ### 19. Powerful software, but is it worth the $$$ ?

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Photography | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

I enjoy how simple it is to import store and edit all of my photos inside photoshop.
It is so easy to edit a feature on my mobile and then switch to the full version on my computer.
If you need the photo editing power that photoshop provides that this is definitely for you.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

I cannot, however, forget about the looming monthly price over my head every time I use it and always feel like I have already paid enough already. I can not understand how photoshop is the only software in the realm of advanced photo editing. They have the corner on the market and that is why they are charging so much to use their software. If I could spend anywhere for $300 to $500 on a permanent license I would.
If you need the photo editing power that photoshop provides that this is definitely for you but If you are like me and starting up a small photography company with needs of light raw editing than I cannot recommend this product with the continual fee.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

If you need the photo editing power that photoshop provides that this is definitely for you but If you are like me and starting up a small photography company with needs of light raw editing than I cannot recommend this product with the continual fee.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use photoshop to edit aerial drone photography and video titles. I am able to edit blemishes out of client photos and make a more professional look to my companies products.

  ### 20. Good software, little confusing

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2019

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

It can perform a lot of advanced tasks that you can just do with Microsoft products.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

It’s a little confusing to learn at first, isn’t as straightforward as it should be.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It’s helped me make creative and colorful flyers. They are eye catching.

  ### 21. A great tool for photo editing.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** An M. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 26, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

I love the image manipulations possibilities. The fact that it is a raster-based software has forced it to the back of my professional toolkit. I mostly use this tool for when I have a project to recreate something. and All I have to work from is a screenshot. I use the original to benchmark my progress, which is why I use photoshop.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

It lacks flexibility and easy-to-use & accessible plug-ins. IT IS SOOO SLOW. I realize that this tool is powerful and that files get very large. But I had the delay that comes with opening up a new file, just to find out it is the wrong one. and have to do it all over again.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

This is a great tool for creating professional quality photographs in a multitude of qualities. I have worked with Photoshop for over 10 years, and it is still the easiest tool for photo retouching and image alterations.
This tool lacks more open integrations now used for developing websites and those kinds of products, such as plug-in's and add on's.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I only use Photoshop for image editing these days. Those instances are few and far between, and almost always exclusively for our Marketing department. It is great for editing client assets when they don't have a creative, and we can do it in-house.

  ### 22. Is photoshop loosing it's exclusivity?

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Phoenix A L. | Founder, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

- Powerful features that can do anything to images you can think of, be it for animation, digital marketing, or printing publications

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

- very steep learning curve and a very high price.
- it is becoming increasingly more difficut to justify the cost for the functionality vs competitors.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

I would certainly take ample time to evaluate more powerful alternatives arriving in the market. It may be possible to find a more affordable solution with similar functionality

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has the most awesome functionlity to watermark photos as a brush. This means you can use a company's logo very easily, as long as it is in black and white version, to then create a custom colour watermark.

  ### 23. Powerful, but not very usable.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Karen S. | UX Designer and Researcher, Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Photoshop has more capabilities than almost any other software I use. Its GUI also forms the basis for many other products, so once you learn its "language" it will be much easier to figure out Sketch, Photos, etc. Finally, I love the keyboard shortcuts!

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

I sometimes wonder if Photoshop designers tried to make the most opaque, mystifying system possible. I'm not a novice Photoshop user and I'm pretty good at finding information, but I've had to resort to YoiTube tutorials for something as simple as drawing a circle. Photoshop could really use some upgrades to make it more usable, like coach marks, built-in tutorials, and a more robust Help section.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Assess your needs carefully. If you really want to create images, consider InDesign or even Sketch. If image management is what you need, then Photoshop might be your best bet.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Logo design, Photo editing, iconography

  ### 24. Has potential to be great, but frustrating.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Medical Devices | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

There are a lot of options and versatility.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

It is not intuitive to use. It would be nice if it wasn't so expensive.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Find something that is easier to use and less frustrating. It takes a lot of time to get the hang of it, and there are way too many buttons and menu options for you to know what you are trying to do. A more robust help menu can also be an improvement.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used it to edit images for the customer user manual and testing pictures.

  ### 25. Photoshop can be difficult to learn.

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** george g. | Audio Video Technician, Consumer Electronics, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

I like how photoshop offers a lot of different filters and color corrections for photo touch ups. This is one of the best parts about the software. These filters seem to be really professional and they are what makes photoshop worth the price you pay. With photoshop you are also able to color match virtually anything which is really useful.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Photoshop seems like it would be a great software if it was not so hard to learn. There are a lot of different features that I do not know how to used due to how they are laid out on the interface. Also, doing anything with text in photoshop is a complete disaster. Photoshop does not have a good text editor. If you are trying to edit text there is not way to preview the changes before you make them.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

I would try out other photo editing softwares before switching to photoshop. Photoshop seems like it is geared towards more advanced users.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use photoshop for album editing and design.

  ### 26. People still use Photoshop?

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tim N. | Director Of Product Design, Consumer Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 06, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Photoshop has every feature under the sun. If you can dream it, you can do it in Photoshop. But that's not always a good thing...

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Photoshop is the heavy hitter in the photo editing and design space. But that's mostly about momentum. Every new release seems increasingly bloated and hard to use for common use cases.

It's a travesty that so many designers still use Photoshop for use cases outside of photo editing when tools like Sketch exist.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photo editing.

  ### 27. Lamborgini when all I need is a sedan

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kendra D. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 30, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

How many templates exist out there for photoshop. Smart objects has also changed my workflow for the better.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

How difficult it is to do simple things. Photoshop has a considerable learning curve.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Don't use photoshop for web design anymore. Sketch is the tool all web designers should be using now

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photo editing

  ### 28. Still Photoshop...

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chloe Alexandra M. | UX Design Lead, Internet, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 19, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Photoshop has pretty much every photo-editing feature under the sun.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Unfortunately, Photoshop has gotten more and more bloated with every release. Really wish there was a simple alternative that was becoming a standard the way Sketch is for vector graphics, but since everybody still uses Photoshop, I guess I'm stuck using it, too...

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Editing photo assets before using them in UX/Prototyping software

  ### 29. Photoshop: Mediocre

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

I liked the wide range of functions Adobe Photoshop afforded.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

I disliked the amount of time it took to master Adobe Photoshop, in comparison to faster, more automated and user-friendly programs like Google Photos and Canva.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Take time to learn the program.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Adobe Photoshop to edit photos to be posted on social media.

  ### 30. This is a powerful software, but you need a creative designer skill set to use it.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 25, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

The software can do ANYTHING you need to accomplish with editing and enhancing images. This is the industry standard for professional.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Adobe's monthly billing process and rules are encumbering and not clear. simply put, you renew without realizing it and there are penalties to get out. Not a standard practice for most monthly subscriptions.

Secondly, the software is not intuitive for the average business person who wants to jump in and do something in a few minutes to an image. If you buy the software, have the skills or take a course.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Take a course when you buy into this software to avoid frustration.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We can assist clients with their images in a number of ways.

  ### 31. Used only for the name

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Architecture & Planning | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Adobe Photoshop is compatable with almost every platform of media I use for work.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Very little help in walking me through the features of the program. I only learned the absolute basics, and had to spend a lot of money to buy a book that would teach me the rest.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Great ability to format plans into marketable assets for customers.

  ### 32. Use Photoshop Daily as an Architecture Student

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Katherine M. | Project Designer, Architecture & Planning, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 14, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

I use Photoshop almost every day in school. I use it to make diagrams, graphics, edit sketches. I even use it to make my final presentation boards. Photoshop is extremely versatile.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

There's nothing I dislike about photoshop.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I create diagrams for my projects. Photoshop allows be to blend and mask images to always create something unique.

  ### 33. Hard to work with

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kara P. | Marketing Support, Real Estate, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 08, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

The easiest feature that is easy to use and makes pictures look great, is the tool to lighten up pictures

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

It isn't user friendly, and everyone in our marketing department has had a hard time using it, even with watching tutorials!

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

If you want to use it efficiently and effectively, it will definitely take time, trial, and error! But I think once someone has the hang of it and all of its tools, it can be a great resource for making pictures look great.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Making pictures to put online for available properties look more appealing to the costumer eye.

  ### 34. Photoshop Is An Amazing Tool You Can't Use Without Training and Patience

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robby S. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

The best part about Photoshop is that virtually any conceivable image modification task is possible.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

If you think you're going to jump into Photoshop with no experience and tweak a photo, you are in for a rough time.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

It's almost certainly the case that any Photoshop work you need to do should be outsourced to someone who uses it every day. Expect to spend 10+ hours in training before you are able to do anything impressive, or to only have extremely narrow knowledge of the tutorial you watched on YouTube.

If you just want to add captions, crop, rotate, or resize images, fix blemishes, or make other small tweaks, you don't need Photoshop. That's less than 1% of what it does, but probably what most people use it for.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photo editing!

  ### 35. Tried to love it

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 17, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

I like the interface of the program and to complexity of the chat feature in terms of keeping good communication with a group. I also liked the fact that you could organize chats by people and topic. It was also very easy to search for things using the # and tag not only comments someone had but the files that you were putting into the program

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

I like the idea behind slack but for me the amount of conversations and chat going on mixed with the file sharing got too chaotic for me. After going through a couple of projects things started to get lost a little. We tried to remedy this by organizing convos as projects instead .

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Get organized from the beginning and make a game plan as to how you are going to use slack before you dive right in.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Communication on projects as well as working remotely. We needed slack to fill out communication needs with each other when working remotely as well as sending files for feedback

  ### 36. Lol this is cool

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 07, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

User friendly secure network great for novice users

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Nothing it rocks and I won’t change. With experience it will be great

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Try it you’ll like it it’s great

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Slow and won’t load fast enough

  ### 37. Full Featured but Intimidatingly Complex

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mark David G. | Author, Speaker, Creativity Catalyst, Entertainment, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 11, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Whatever you could possibly want to do with a photograph, Photoshop will do it for you...expertly.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Like so many Adobe products, the app's level of complexity makes it nearly impossible to use without climbing an incredibly steep learning curve.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

If you're prepared to spend a *lot* of time learning this program, it will reward you handsomely with its phenomenal range of tools and features. If not, it will drive you crazy!

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Photoshop only rarely, for photo edits that I can't do in Lightroom or using third-party Lightroom plugins.

  ### 38. Robust photo-editing tool that should not be used for graph design/prototyping

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Ability to highly edit and manipulate photos

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Inability to quickly select items without digging into layers to pin down the actual element you want to edit

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Wonderful for photographers wanting to manipulate and edit photos but I think it gets used too often for prototyping or other UX and graphic design work that other programs can handle much better.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Photo manipulation and editing.

  ### 39. Not my first choice

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Non-Profit Organization Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2018

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Good quality editing and detailed design options

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Somewhat complicated for what I’ve needed

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Would use for basic design and benefited from array of editing options

  ### 40. Hard to use

**Rating:** 2.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Javiera B. | Postdoctoral Fellow, Hospital & Health Care, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

the quality of images at the end of the processing

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

it is not user-friendly. it is hard to learn it and apply to science. also very time consuming.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

fix microscope picture quality with a sole paradigm for several pictures. it works but is hard and time consuming

  ### 41. Needs Innovation!

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Media Production | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2017

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Two favorite features is Smart Objects and the expanded property panel.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

The new updates. They profile too much.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Composition Development

  ### 42. Tried & True Editing for Designers

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Defense & Space | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2016

**What do you like best about Adobe Photoshop?**

Robust features and tools for those familiar with Adobe products, menus, and set-ups. It's also remained consistent enough over the years for someone who's been using it for a long time doesn't get lost when new builds come out.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop?**

Even basic use of Photoshop requires some sort of training. It's difficult to have redundancy in our department with Photoshop as a skill. Formal training is really best to be able to use the product. This is the reason I would be hesitant to recommend the product to a friend or colleague. If the question asked how likely I'd be to recommend the product to a fellow designer, I'd say 10.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop:**

Try Lynda.com for Photoshop Essentials training before tackling this product with no prior experience.

**What problems is Adobe Photoshop solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Editing photographs for website, email communications, etc. Also using for some designing of ads or elements to go in ads, etc.
