You can work with colors but you can do that in a lot of apps, and more in others in fact. The one good thing is of course you can do a batch run if you need - if you find the sweet spot and all of your pictures are alike. **What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom?** Mostly every thing. I guess I either just didn't get the feel for it or it's just completely not for me. It's all about the user though but it is not the easiest to learn to make use of it for what I need. I need something to does a bit of everything and this obviously has limited abilities. **What problems is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm not solving any problems with Adobe photoshop because it doesn't handle what I need done so I had to go on other programs. If I need to run a batch of photos though again, this is where it comes in handy. ### 2. I also really like how users can create and save their own presets. It's really cool how this software also has an app you can download on your phone too and you can sync the accounts so you have all your photos on your computer & phone. **What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom?** I dislike how Photoshop Lightroom can take a while to upload photos. It just takes time, but it's understandable when it's a big file. It's not much of an issue unless if you are in a hurry. **Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop Lightroom:** I recommend that a new user to Photoshop Lightroom looks up tutorials online, such as YouTube, for a basic understanding on how to use the program. Although it is easy to use, grasping an idea on how to use the basics is much needed, and I believe watching videos rather than reading an instruction manual is a quicker and easier way to learn the program the best. Sometimes it does take a while, for me at least, for photos to upload into the program. I would recommend that you upload only a handful of files at a time, so the program isn't overloaded with thousands of photos at a time. I also love how users can create their own presets on this program and can save them. You can also download others' created presets and upload them into the program, although you usually have to purchase them. Sometimes photographers offer discounts or a free preset, which is great! **What problems is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problems I am solving with this program are color correction and light correction. I have seen a lot of benefits in the quality of my photographs improving by using this program. ### 3. If so you probably already know the deal with Lightroom - it's the most famous and widely-used editor and organiser for photography. And it earned that, because for a long time it was arguably the best. The raw editing is still great. Perhaps not quite as nice as Capture One, but great. In some ways it's still better (radial filters are wonderfully intuitive), and the interface is nice and ergonomic. importing and cataloguing photos works well, and there are plugins for all the major sites etc. The tools to create panoramas and HDR while maintaining raw format are superb. If you could buy it as a standalone, I'd have it just for that! **What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom?** - The subscription pricing. You cannot buy Lightroom outright at all now, you can only commit to an ongoing subscription. This is MADNESS to me. Sure, subscription is a great thing to offer, not everyone needs to won their stuff outright. But it means all your editing, organisation etc is tied permanently to Creative Cloud and a pricey yearly subscription. It's a greedy, callous attempt to hold peoples' work to ransom, and it's led to a mass exodus of users. - Another big and oft-repeated problem is the performance. It's dismal. I cancelled my CC subscription entirely because it was so sluggish, editing a large set of photos would take twice as long as it needed to because of a general lagginess in the controls and switching between images. It seems unrelated to the power of the PC; even people with ultra-high-specced machines have the same problems. - Importing is mandatory and can take a while to build previews - Exporting is rather sluggish - The film grain is terrible, just looks like a noise overlay - The color tools are a bit limited - Some parts are far less intuitive than others **Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop Lightroom:** Look at Capture One! And perhaps ON1 Raw (though that's another can of worms for another time), Luminar (if you like your photos to look like they're made of Plasticine), DXO Photolab (or whatever it's called this month), Darktable (if you don't mind a slightly odd interface in exchange for it being free), RawTherapee (if you want to go reaaally deep into raw editing, and spend no money), Corel Aftershot Pro (not even sure what to say about this one, it's just slightly depressing) , or any of the other raw editors out there that DON'T force you to pay a monthly fee. **What problems is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Back when I was a Lightroom user, I found it an extremely powerful and dependable piece of software, albeit a little slow. It's still probably the best on the market when it comes to organising AND editing photos, but as an editor the poor performance makes it harder to recommend. ### 4. It's recent update to the interface looks really nice and looks a little more intuitive than it was before. **What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom?** I disliked how hard it was for me to catch on in it's previous version. It was not an easy program for me to understand right away. I worked with it for about a week on and off then got impatient. I don't see an option to save any of my images to a particular Library. It has excellent photo management and organization tools. The best management tools on the market today from its closes competitors. The layout is fluid and for the most part nicely laid out with a one or two faults. The basic editing tools are great and simple to use. The ease of use is by far lightroom's best feature, no over thinking just right out in front for you. **What do you dislike about Adobe Photoshop Lightroom?** The speed. Lightroom's speed is unacceptable for a top of the line photo editing software. It is the slowest on the market for a raw editor. Something as simple as changing modules takes way to long. If you have to important an large project, you mind as well start it grab lunch and take a nap because it will be all day. Also there are outdated features like slideshow and web panel that have not been updated in years. Face detection and tagging is buggy and not very good. **Recommendations to others considering Adobe Photoshop Lightroom:** I still use Lightroom as my management tool but I use an outside raw editor because of lightroom's speed and Adobe's refusal to rebuild it for todays tech. If adobe would just do the right thing and build it to take advantage of todays computer it would be a much better program. **What problems is Adobe Photoshop Lightroom solving and how is that benefiting you?** Lightroom allows me to organize and manage my photos extremely well. I can add keywords, captions and copyright with ease. Culling it very simple and grouping almost 2nd nature. The plugin feature allows me to use lightroom as my management tool and an outside software as my editor of choice. Capture One is the only one coming close to lightroom's management capabilities but still falls short. ### 11.
