"The Most Powerful Marketing Operations & Automation Tool"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Marketo offers a complete marketing automation and marketing operations platform. From email sends and nurture programs to triggered web content, scoring, and routing, Marketo can handle it all. Many tools on the market prioritize ease of use but end up missing critical functionality. Marketo, on the other hand, includes the full set of capabilities needed to support marketing operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Because of its complexity, Marketo can be challenging to set up and get running smoothly. There’s also a learning curve if you want to get the most out of it. In my experience, you’ll need to dedicate a resource to manage Marketo on an ongoing basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Scalable, Flexible Platform for Complex Marketing Automation"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

What I like most about Adobe Marketo Engage is how scalable and flexible it is. It’s powerful enough to support complex initiatives such as lead scoring, segmentation, personalized content, and operational data cleanup, while still giving me the control to build processes that fit specific business needs.

I use Marketo daily, and I really appreciate being able to set up multiple workflows that run reliably in the background while I focus on other priorities. The email reporting features are also extremely helpful, giving me quick visibility into performance metrics that I can share with clients and use to guide targeting and optimization decisions. I also value how well Marketo integrates with platforms like Salesforce and Brighttalk, which makes it easier to connect campaign execution with downstream engagement and reporting. What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The user interface can feel dated in certain areas, and some workflows still require more manual effort than expected, such as adding flow steps one at a time. Troubleshooting can also slow productivity, since it sometimes requires digging across multiple tabs to trace campaign logic and dependencies. I’ve also experienced occasional lag with larger uploads and session timeouts, which can interrupt momentum. Adobe is making progress with AI capabilities, but that area still feels like it’s evolving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Automation with Room for Improvement"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I like how reliable Adobe Marketo Engage is once the workflows are properly set up. It's solid for running long, multi-step nurture journeys without things randomly breaking. The level of control with segmentation and automation is pretty strong, providing the flexibility to move leads through different stages, which is useful for varying client funnel setups. I also appreciate how it handles long-running nurture programs without needing much oversight. Once the logic is built correctly, it runs in the background without constant checks. The connection between behavior tracking and automation is very useful, as it allows smart follow-ups based on actual user actions, making it feel more 'alive' compared to simpler email tools. What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I think a few things feel a bit dated with Adobe Marketo Engage. The interface is probably the biggest issue. It works, but it’s not very intuitive, especially for new team members. Even simple changes in a workflow can take more clicks than you’d expect, and it doesn’t always feel smooth when you’re trying to move fast. Also, reporting can be a bit clunky. The data is there, but pulling it together in a way that’s actually easy to explain to clients usually takes extra effort. We often end up exporting things and cleaning them up elsewhere because the native views aren’t very presentation-friendly. A big improvement would be simplifying some of the workflow building experience. Right now, even small changes in a journey or campaign can feel a bit buried, so having a more visual, drag-and-adjust style editor for common use cases would make it easier for teams to iterate quickly without needing deep platform knowledge. On the reporting side, it would help a lot if there were more 'ready-to-explain' views instead of just raw data tables. Something closer to client storytelling dashboards, where you can quickly show performance over time, funnel movement, and key drop-offs without having to rebuild everything manually each time. "Real-Time Integration Boosts Conversion, Needs Advanced Reporting"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I really like Adobe Marketo Engage for its Zero Drop-Off Between Teams, as the real-time CRM integration ensures that Sales receives instant alerts whenever a target lead takes high-intent actions, like requesting a demo or viewing pricing. The Granular Behavioral Targeting feature is another standout, with Marketo’s Smart Lists allowing me to build hyper-specific target audiences using complex logic, like AND/OR rules, trigger filters, and activity history. I also find the Real-Time Responsiveness useful, as it automatically updates Smart Lists instantly when a prospect takes specific actions, eliminating the need for manual list imports or refreshes. What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I find the basic out-of-the-box reporting inadequate for high-level executive needs. Extracting actionable, deep revenue insights usually requires integrating third-party BI tools or upgrading to advanced analytics packages. The native reports often render as text-heavy tabular data or basic charts, which are not visually compelling or ready for C-suite presentations. I often have to export raw data to Excel, Tableau, or Power BI to build presentable dashboards. Also, the setup process has high technical complexity, requiring significant technical expertise for initial DNS/domain authentication, custom CNAME setups, and bi-directional CRM integration. "Adobe Marketo Engage Streamlines Campaigns with Powerful Automation and Insightful Tracking"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Adobe Marketo Engage is very useful for managing marketing campaigns in a structured and organized way. It helps with automating emails, lead nurturing, and tracking customer journeys in one platform. As a designer working with marketing teams, it also helps me understand campaign performance better and align creatives according to audience behavior and engagement data. This makes the designs more targeted and effective. It saves a lot of manual effort and helps teams stay consistent with communication, especially when handling large-scale campaigns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

Adobe Marketo Engage is very powerful, but it feels quite complex for someone who is not deeply into marketing automation. The interface and setup can take time to understand, especially for beginners or non-marketing users like designers. It also feels a bit heavy in terms of learning curve, and sometimes simple tasks require multiple steps compared to more modern, lightweight tools. Because of this complexity, it may not be very suitable for quick or small-scale marketing needs without proper training or experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Feature-Rich but Requires Technical Expertise"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I love the fact that Adobe Marketo Engage is very much integrated into Salesforce as it's flexible. A nice, very cool feature is the ability to send emails on behalf of the account managers rather than a single person from the company. This way, it makes the emails look more personal. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

It's a cumbersome system, and you need to have a system engineer to actually operate it. It's not something which can easily be accessed by traditional marketers who simply want to go ahead and launch and open a campaign for it. It's kind of a bit old in that sense. It wasn't actually too easy. Took a great deal of time and an expert to get in there. But then again, that's because we had many requirements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Rock-Solid Automated Workflows You Can Trust"

What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The compounding efficiency of using global Program Tokens alongside hyper-specific Smart Lists. It allows our operations team to build an intricate, multi-layered campaign architecture just once, tokenize the variables, and clone it across different regions or product lines in minutes without breaking the underlying behavioral triggers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The native landing page and form builders require too much custom HTML coding to look modern, which completely kills our agility. Because the folder structure and logic are so unforgiving, even a simple campaign tweak requires a certified specialist, making it impossible for casual users on our team to move fast. "Powerful Email Nurturing and Personalization at Scale with Marketo Engage"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

What I like best about Marketo Engage is how powerful it is for email nurturing. Engagement Programs make it easy to set up multi-stream nurtures where leads automatically move between streams based on their behavior or lifecycle stage, so people always get content that's relevant to where they are in the buying journey. The cadence controls are flexible, and the exhausted-content alerts help me know when it's time to refresh a stream. I also like that Smart Campaigns let me layer in trigger-based sends on top of scheduled nurture casts — for example, pausing a nurture when someone enters an active sales conversation. Compared to simpler email tools, the segmentation and dynamic content options let me personalize at scale without building dozens of separate emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

The UI feels dated and the email editor is limited without HTML skills. There is also a steep learning curve for new users, and native reporting could be stronger for the price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible and Scalable Marketing Automation Powerhouse"

What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I use Adobe Marketo Engage as the central platform for managing our end-to-end marketing automation and lead lifecycle. I really like its flexibility and scalability, which support us from simple email campaigns to more sophisticated ones. I also really like its powerful automation capabilities using the smart campaign feature. These capabilities allow us to automate complex marketing processes, personalize the customer experience at scale, and manage campaigns across multiple business units with minimal manual effort. The initial setup was very easy, and we got support from the Adobe team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

I can only think of landing page creation needing more drag and drop components. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Tool for Scaling and Organizing Marketing Efforts"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Marketo Engage?

What I like most about Adobe Marketo Engage is how powerful and flexible it feels once you start using it regularly.

For me, the biggest highlight has been the lead management and nurturing workflows. I have been able to set up detailed smart campaigns, scoring rules, and segmentation that actually reflect real user behavior. Once everything is configured, it runs smoothly in the background and saves a lot of manual effort.

I have also really liked how well it integrates with CRM systems (especially Salesforce). It made it much easier to keep marketing and sales aligned, and I didn't have to worry about data mismatches or delays.

Another thing I’ve personally found valuable is the reporting and analytics. I can track campaign performance, see what’s working, and adjust quickly. The level of detail helps in making better decisions instead of guessing.

Overall, what stands out to me is that it gives a lot of control and customization. It can feel complex at first, but once I got comfortable with it, it became a very reliable tool for running and optimizing campaigns. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage?

What I dislike about Adobe Marketo Engage is that it has a fairly steep learning curve, especially when setting up more advanced workflows. It's easy to make mistakes in smart campaigns if you’re not careful, and debugging can take time.

In larger programs, I have noticed performance can slow down, particularly when working with big lists or complex programs.

Overall, while it's very powerful, it definitely requires experience and careful setup to use it efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
