"Flexible Journeys, Challenging Setup"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

I like Adobe Journey Optimizer for its flexibility in mapping real user behavior into communication flows. It allows for branching based on what people do, making journeys feel more realistic. Once set up properly, it runs quietly in the background without constant babysitting, which I appreciate. The ability to create dynamic journeys by splitting paths based on engagement, inactivity, or key actions is valuable, as it helps avoid treating different users the same despite their different levels of interaction. The automation aspect also reduces operational noise, letting the system react to behaviors without needing daily manual intervention. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

The setup can get pretty complex pretty fast. Once you start building more advanced journeys with multiple branches and conditions, it becomes easy to lose track of what's actually happening where. It feels powerful, but not always very easy to visually understand at a glance. Also, testing and debugging journeys could be smoother. When something doesn't behave the way you expect, figuring out why takes more effort than it should. A clearer way to simulate user paths or trace decisions step-by-step would make it a lot easier to trust the system when things get complex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Customer Insights with Easy Onboarding"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

I use Adobe Journey Optimizer to track clients' storefronts, including shopping cart behavior and the overall customer journey for an e-commerce site. I didn't know why or how many cart abandonments there were; this tool made it clear how carts were handled and helped us figure out campaigns through newsletters. The ease of use is a standout feature. The platform makes it easy to onboard new campaigns and understand why clients leave their carts early. Training people on this tool was also a breeze because it's so convenient and user-friendly. We didn't even need to find tutorials because it was straightforward. The initial setup was easy to use and fairly straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

I think the UI could be slightly improved because it felt a little dated when I used it. I thought overall it was good at what it did but slightly dated in the fonts and overall workflow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Powerful Real-Time Journey Orchestration for Enterprise Teams"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

Its ability to bring data, decisioning, and activation into a single platform, which is critical managing complex omnichannel customer journeys.

A strong point is integrations, particularly within the Adobe ecosystem. Being natively built on Adobe Experience Platform means you benefit from unified customer profiles and seamless data activation.

The performance and scalability, especially when handling large volumes of customer data and orchestrating journeys in real time, it is clearly designed for enterprise-level use cases Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

A few areas that could be improved. The main challenge is the learning curve—especially for teams that are new to the Adobe ecosystem.

From a UI/UX perspective, although the journey builder is intuitive, some parts of the interface can feel complex when working with advanced configurations or managing large-scale journeys.

It’s clearly an enterprise solution. That means the investment can be significant, and the ROI is more evident in organizations that fully leverage its capabilities Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Build Complete Customer Journeys from One Screen with Adobe Experience Platform"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

The thing that honestly impressed me the most is how I can build a full customer journey — emails, push notifications, in-app messages — all from one single screen. I don't have to jump between five different tools anymore, and that alone saves me so much time every week.

It integrates really well with other Adobe Experience Platform tools, so if your company is already on Adobe, this fits in naturally. The data flows smoothly and personalization becomes so much easier. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

Honestly, the experimentation side is still not as strong as I expected. If you're used to doing heavy A/B testing or advanced experiments, it's not quite there yet. I still have to work around some limitations in that area.

Also, onboarding new team members is a bit of a challenge — not everyone on my team feels comfortable with it right away, and getting everyone trained takes effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A Life-Changer for Personalized, Real-Time Marketing Campaigns"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

What stands out most to me is how it brings scheduled marketing campaigns and real-time, event-triggered engagements together in one place, on a single canvas. The personalized 1:1 messages, tailored to each customer’s behavior, have genuinely been a life-changer for me. The real-time tracking of the customer's lifecycle allows for refining messages based on new user behaviors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

The implementation is complex enough that it often requires an IT consultant. If you’re non-technical, the platform’s steep learning curve can slow down how quickly you’re able to learn and get comfortable with it, especially compared to other standalone marketing tools. "Unified Customer Profiles and Smart Triggers That Orchestrate Every Touchpoint"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

Adobe Journey Optimizer uses a unified customer profile so that every touch point that a customer has is taken into consideration. I like to refer to the platform almost like a conductor in an orchestra because it handles every aspect of a marketing initiative. For example, you can configure automatic triggers for certain actions (or inactions) that a customer may take Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

Journey Optimizer integrates best with (as you would guess) other Adobe products. There are certain aspects of the journey that we handle with other platforms outside of the Adobe ecosystem. In this case, these insights are not included in the Unified profile Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Smarter Customer Journeys with Real-Time Personalization"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

What I like most about Adobe Journey Optimizer is how it brings everything, customer data, journeys, and real-time engagement, into one place. The ability to design and automate personalized customer journeys across channels really stands out. It helps me move from just analyzing data to actually acting on it.

I also find the real-time decisioning very valuable. Instead of relying on static campaigns, I can trigger actions based on customer behavior instantly, which improves engagement and conversion rates. The interface is fairly intuitive, especially for mapping journeys, and it saves a lot of time compared to manually coordinating campaigns across multiple tools.

Another big plus is how it integrates well with Adobe Experience Platform, making it easier to work with unified customer profiles. This has improved data consistency and reduced the back-and-forth between teams.

Overall, it has made campaign execution faster, more personalized, and more data-driven. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

One downside of Adobe Journey Optimizer is that there is definitely a learning curve, especially for new users who are not familiar with Adobe Experience Platform. Setting up journeys and understanding data schemas can take time, and it’s not always very intuitive at the beginning.

Another challenge is performance and debugging. When something doesn’t work as expected in a journey, it can be difficult to quickly identify the root cause. More transparent error messages and easier debugging tools would really help improve the experience.

Also, while the platform is powerful, it sometimes feels a bit complex for simpler use cases. Tasks that should be quick can require multiple steps, which can slow down productivity.

Overall, it’s a strong tool, but improving usability, documentation, and troubleshooting capabilities would make it much more efficient for everyday use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Canvas, Excellent Real-Time Messaging"
4.5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

I like the flexibility on the journey canvas in Adobe Journey Optimizer. Being able to add multiple actions in a single journey and be able to react to actions that were or weren't taken allows to build a more seamless experience. I also find it incredibly useful to communicate with members leveraging their real-time behavior and profile attributes without having to rely on static lists. This opens up more opportunities for getting the right message to the right person at the right time and channel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

Better out of the box reporting around the legacy decisioning would have been nice although I understand it likely won't continue to be developed. We don't have CJA which is a limitation so I wish we could have better integrations with Adobe Analytics like having analytics metrics in our reports for journeys and campaigns. "Great for Real-Time Personalisation and Managing Customer Journeys"
5/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

Honestly, what I like most about Adobe Journey Optimizer is how it makes everything feel more connected. Instead of dealing with different tools and scattered data, you can actually see the full customer journey in one place and adjust things in real time, which makes a big difference.

It’s also pretty easy to get used to once you spend some time with it. Building and adjusting journeys doesn’t feel overly complicated, and I like that you can quickly test ideas and improve them based on actual data.

Another thing I find useful is the level of personalisation you can achieve. It helps make interactions feel more relevant instead of generic, which is super important nowadays.

Overall, it just makes managing campaigns and customer experiences smoother and more efficient without feeling overwhelming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

One thing I don’t really like about Adobe Journey Optimizer is that it can feel a bit overwhelming at the beginning. There are a lot of features and options, so it takes some time to fully understand how everything works, especially if you’re new to this kind of platform.

Sometimes the interface can also feel a bit complex when you’re trying to make quick changes, and certain things aren’t as straightforward as they could be. It would be nice if some parts were more simplified or guided.

Another downside is that setting everything up properly can take time, especially when it comes to integrations and data. Once it’s running it’s great, but the initial learning curve and setup can be a bit heavy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Complex Setup but Outstanding Features"
4/5
What do you like best about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

I'm really excited about the upcoming AI, agent features available in the new Adobe Journey Optimizer. I think the journey agent will help speed up our development cycle time. I'm also excited about bringing our business and marketing stakeholders into the platform, believing these agentic features will assist them without the need for complex HTML coding skills. The feature that allows viewing how Gemini reads emails and modifying the response to better fit our brand narrative is really cool. Additionally, I like the idea of uploading a strategic document or image to create a journey, which I think will be quite helpful. The experimentation tools within the platform should help our business by identifying what kinds of experiments can be done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Adobe Journey Optimizer?

As we develop these journeys, we're finding some limitations on the kinds of segmentation that we have to do. It's becoming very complex. Manual mapping documents to be uploaded in CDP for us to be able to do that segmentation. In terms of implementations, we've also been working to implement short codes, and we're running into some complexity about variations and the number of brands that we have to tackle within a singular short code. The initial setup was pretty complex. We went through a vendor partner to help with the implementation. There were a lot of components that needed to be considered, such as new email setup, SMS short code integration, creating a design component system to create formalized templates. I wouldn't say it's easy, but it's definitely worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
