I appreciate the ease of use of Adobe InDesign. I started my design career with InDesign, and I loved that I was able to create professional-looking pieces even with limited experience. I wish there were more of an integration with Illustrator, but Illustrator really does provide the ability to do anything InDesign can't. In my opinion, you have to use the two in tandem if you're going to be a professional designer. There is a little bit of a learning curve with InDesign, especially if you're used to another system. Adobe tools don't have exactly the same functionality from app to app. I don't prefer to use InDesign on a laptop. I find the experience is far better with a desktop and traditional mouse and/or a tablet with a smart pen. It's hard to get the control you need on a traditional laptop with a trackpad. I appreciate Adobe InDesign because it allows us to create reusable templates for our email ads, product catalogs, and brand guidelines. I find Adobe InDesign really hard to use. Despite its powerful functionality and control, it comes at the cost of being unable to just jump into it intuitively. Even after six months of use, I still feel like I'm struggling with it. Furthermore, the tutorials provided by Adobe are quite complicated, making it even more difficult to learn. It's tailored for those who are great at graphic design, and for others, it can be very intimidating. Additionally, during onboarding, we had trouble getting Adobe to recognize everyone's account in our organization, leading to inconsistent access. The software's complexity made it challenging for us to get up to speed with even the basic functions. It's not a program you can quickly start using; familiarity is essential.
