## Adobe InDesign Reviews
  ### 1. A Powerful Resource - High Cost but Sadly Essential

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jack C. | Production manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

It is an all-in-one system for designing graphics, video, audio, and web elements. You have access to fonts, stock photos, templates, and more. It's completely essential to working graphic designers, photographers, and those needing to produce digital or print materials.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

While it is helpful to have a toolset this powerful, Cloud has a stranglehold on the industry and nearly a monopoly on the graphic design industry. When you are dealing with large books, magazines, etc. there are no other acceptable choices, which means you have to pay what ever Adobe asks, which is a lot.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cloud makes it so you have one environment that your team can be in where you don't have to worry about different desperate file formats or lack of communication between applications. Everything just works. In most apps, you can cut and paste between formats, so you can cut and paste from Illustrator to Photoshop or InDesign, and it just works. Everything will have the same Font set, and it will use (mostly) the same shortcut keys. It is ideal for creating streamlined workflows for making digital, print, audio, video, etc.

  ### 2. The industry standard

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ondrej K. | Business Development Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 13, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

All the included tools are filled with functionality. Photoshop is the industry standard for photo editing, much like InDesign is for desktop publishing and Illustrator for vector graphics. The tools provide even advanced features, meaning you will rarely look for more advanced alternatives.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Some of the applications may crash on times - mainly Premiere. The support is not good, but luckily, I have only needed it once in 10+ years.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Creative Cloud is the cornerstone suite of creative applications we use everyday for all kinds of creative work, be it video production, photo editing or creation of printed materials.

Since this is a large suite of various applications for a wide range of tasks, I especially like the fact that the applications are compatible with one another, meaning that I can use a vector graphic made in Illustrator in a video produced in Premire, and vice versa.

  ### 3. Adobe Indesign is still the industry standard

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

It's extremely powerful for laying out long multiple page documents for both print and interactive projects.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Because it has so many options and capabilities, I often feel it's hard to find and access certain tools, and even sometimes I feel a little lost as to how to do certain seemingly simple things. Like for instance, setting up and formatting indented bullet lists - should be easy, right? We'll, I've done this multiple times but I always seem to need to dig up a tutorial on how to get it done every time since it's just not obvious.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it to create reports and e-books which are sometimes exported to be interactive web based pdfs and on other occasions, will be printed. It's nice Indesign allows for dial functionality like this in terms of exporting to a pdf.

  ### 4. Adobe InDesign Review

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tofiq H. | 2D Freelance Digital Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Adobe InDesign is an amazing and powerful tool for professional designers and anyone who wants to create beautiful printed or digital publications. With its strong layout and typography tools, seamless integration with the Adobe Creative Cloud, and interactive content features, it's a top choice for many.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

For newcomers, InDesign can feel a bit overwhelming because of its wide range of features. It does require some time and practice to become skilled, and the learning process may discourage those who prefer a simpler solution. Adobe's decision to adopt a subscription-based model means that users have to pay regularly to use InDesign, which can be costly for occasional or infrequent users.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use it sometimes while working as a book designer for my freelance projects.

  ### 5. Great app for creating PDFs and Ebooks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Felix N. | CRM Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 15, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I really like the possibility of creating multiple Paragraphs styles and make them interactive while creating Table of Contents. This makes the document not only easy to navigate but also it maintains the style overall. I also like the integrations with Illustrator and Photoshop.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Sometimes, the app crashes whether I have multiple files open or not. Also, the integration with Illustrator is still a work in progress, since the way InDesign handles vector graphics creation is different and limited from the way Illustrator does.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign is letting my team and I create and edit multiple files that will be linked in a book. The team is in multiples time zones and also uses Mac and Windows. In this aspect, InDesign has helped the team overcome multiple edits and revisions of a same file.

  ### 6. The Best Page Layout Software in the World

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shawn M. | Owner, Marketer, Graphic Artist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I've been a graphic designer for over 20 years and Adobe InDesign is, by far, the best page layout software I've ever used (and I've used them all). It was revolutionary when it came out and has just continued to improve for the past 20+ years.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

There really isn't much about InDesign that I dislike. I guess if I had to come up with something to dislike it's that as they add new features, it sometimes gets difficult to find what you are looking for because all of the menus feel a bit overstuffed. But that's because they are adding useful features, so you can't really complain, you know?

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I create a lot of print design products and doing my job wouldn't be impossible, but it would be much more difficult without Adobe InDesign. The app just works really well for professional designers.

  ### 7. All you need for professional, print-ready design

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hannah L. | Data Visualization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I like the seamless integration with other Adobe tools including the ability to update assets outside of InDesign and have them autoupdate. This becomes incredibly handy when you have to tweak photographs or infographics for publications.
I also really appreciate the precision in which you can make changes. I have used InDesign for everything from children's book design to detailed contractor invoice/contract forms where every millimeter of space counts. It's great for custom sizings and easy to print mockups at whatever scale you need.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

I don't really dislike anything about InDesign. In general, I'm not a huge fan of Adobe's subscription model, especially considering I have been using the Adobe Creative Suite well before this was introduced and the main tools I use have not needed upgrading in the past decade.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I know without fail that I can be given a print task and I will be able to create the layout accurately with the right print specifications using InDesign. There is a bit of a learning curve when you first get started, but once you know your way around the program it is incredibly easy to work with.

  ### 8. Combines the Best of Adobe Products across-Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Justine Paige K. | Clientele Lead, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 27, 2024

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Love that you can easily import files from photoshop/illustrator/etc. into InDesign, and from the main interface go back and make edits to the source files

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Necessary to have your files organized and have all the assets in one root folder. Obviously this is standard practice for industry professionals, but for those just learning the software or students, they can lose assets if not organizing everything accordingly, which might be learned the hard way upon trying to meet a deadline

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to layout multiple different types of file assets within a chronological set up, making publishing linear pieces like books, magazines, pamphlets, etc. so much easier

  ### 9. The collection for Creativity

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dinakar V. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

It comes as a Suite of products that solves most of the creator and graphic designer needs. The tool is advanced in capabilities and reaching the market expectations in most of the scenarios and following the trends.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

I personally feel the cost of the product is slightly higher for a person who makes an earning out of it as a part time work, Adobe should surely think about free alternative which might probably have restricted features but Adobe express is not something thats the alternative i would suggest for sure as an answer.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps in designing, editing, video creation, colour correction, graphic intensive work, 3D modeling, brochures, collaterals etc. In the world of so many tools this tool certainly comes handy to pick whatever creative field you're in.

  ### 10. CC is the best way to access the adobe suite

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ben P. | Senior Client Success Manager / Head of Design, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Ever since CC launched as a subscription service I've been with them, really happy with how the pricing now works gaining access to all of the adobe products, not just some. Adobe is the industry standard and for that reason there are other other options; however so far they're not as good.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

The price can be expensive at first in comparison to something like Canva - however there is really nothing quite the same and for that reason the pricing is attainable. If anything it would be awesome if it were slightly cheaper.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

High-end production of design and creative solitions for an array of tasks. Where other products simply offer templated solutions or allow it to be an open canvas without great UI - Adobe makes it really simple and easy to work out great ways to design things.

  ### 11. All you need for laying out a design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James C. | Creative Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

InDesign is a fantastic print/page layout solution with great tools to help create print-based documents. InDesign also works seamlessly with the other Creative Cloud applications.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

It can sometimes be a little memory hungry, so you must ensure you have enough memory available. Apart from that it's a great product. Would love to see it on the ipad like other Adobe products like Photoshop and Illustrator.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Indesign is an excellent tool for helping me lay out my print designs. I love how it integrates with other Adobe products like Photoshop and Illustrator, allowing you to jump between applications quickly. Another great feature is the ability to preview fonts from Adobe Fonts in the application before downloading them.

  ### 12. Getting familiar with Adobe

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Elizabeth B. | Advancement Associate, Hospitality, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

The software is pretty intuitive and user friendly. I really like how there are answers available to most of my questions with a couple of clicks. It's especially helpful to have my previously worked on files ready upon opening the program.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

I find that it is difficult to reorientate to a new layout or where to find certain features after there are updates. I dislike that there is not a way to set the display performance to be high quality all the time.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's nice to have an easy to use software to create quick design products without having to wait on a marketing team. When we are working on a simple project with a close deadline, this is perfect for us.

  ### 13. Great programs if you keep up with the updates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jason R. | Sr. Graphic Designer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I've used CC for so many years that I'm really comfortable with the programs. They haven't taken some time to catch up to other programs I used years ago but now they're up to par.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

I hate that you can only get it with a subscription now. Especially for poor college students. It was great when you could just buy a disk and use that forever but now they're obsolete and you have to pay a subscription. That makes it very hard for struggling creatives to have the tools they need. Sometimes they need to turn to free versions.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They have all the tools I need to create vector art, as well as edit photos then combine them all into one document using InDesign. XD is super slick for creating web assets and social graphics.

  ### 14. So many great apps

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harjeet S. | Senior Digital Designer, Gambling & Casinos, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

There are so many great apps available on Adobe Creative Cloud, each with their own unique benefits. I have used alot of them but not all and there is training and videos available for the ones you haven't tried yet to help you get started which is really helpful.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

There isn't much to dislike but sometimes it the apps can be a bit buggy and cause errors when updating to a new version or when an update is required to be done.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Any design problem can be solved using one of the apps in the Adobe Creative Cloud suite. We create design campaigns, digital advertising assets, videos, presentation documents and much more and all within the Adobe apps.

  ### 15. Have been using Adobe InDesign for 15 Years

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jessica M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Adobe InDesign allows me to create single page flyers/graphics up to multi-page layouts like magazines and annual reports. I have used it for over 15 years and always been happy with the user experience and capabilities of the program.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

I generally like everything about the program, but the one thing I am sometimes frustrated with is that the commands are just slightly different in InDesign vs. other Adobe Creative Suite programs. For instance, "Save As" and "Export" behave differently in InDesign than they do in Illustrator.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign allows me to easily lay out single page or multi-page publications and graphics for my organization. It lets me easily prepare files for print and export graphics for digital publication as well.

  ### 16. An All In One Backpack Of Growth

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kushagra G. | Social Media Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 16, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Imagine having a magic toolbox with endless possibilities! Adobe Creative Cloud is that toolbox. It offers a variety of creative applications, like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro, each with superpowers of its own.
But here's the real magic: these apps talk to each other! They seamlessly share files, making it a breeze to create stunning graphics, videos, and more. Plus, you can store your design elements, like logos and colors, in Creative Cloud Libraries for quick access ,a real time-saver

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

The only downside is the subscription cost. While it's worth every penny, it might not be pocket-friendly for everyone. Also, some Adobe apps, like After Effects, can be a bit like learning a new language. Simplified tutorials for beginners would be fantastic.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe Creative Cloud swoops in like a superhero whenever I face creative challenges. Need a logo for a client? No problem! Want to edit a video masterpiece? Adobe's got my back. The best part? I can work from anywhere with cloud storage. Collaboration is a breeze, even with tight deadlines. No more worrying about losing your work – it's all safely stored in the cloud.

  ### 17. Excellent product with steep learning curve

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Adobe creative cloud is very flexible and has tools to create almost anything. I use it primarily for making article figures, and I love being able to tailor each one to my exact specifications. I think it is designed to be as intuitive as possible, so despite the many MANY functions that can get confusing, it is relatively easy to get started.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Adobe creative cloud has quite a steep learning curve, and I often how to look up very simple commands that I would expect to be intuitive. However, it's capabilities are endless once you learn the software well, and there are tools available to guide you through the learning. I do sometimes find it frustrating that some tools that would be relevant for one software in creative cloud are only available in another. For example, as far as I know, I have to do even simple photo edits like removing the background in photoshop before importing into inDesign. I also wish there was the capacity to make some simple relevant graphics such as tables without constructing them line by line.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe creative cloud helps me to make figures for my scientific manuscripts. I am able to make them precisely to my specifications, including layout, coloring, and fonts. I previously used softwares that were not designed for making graphics, such as PowerPoint, so Creative Cloud greatly enhances my capabilities.

  ### 18. The Industry Standard For Publication Design

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tobias C. | Designer / Senior Project Producer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

InDesign has matured into a feature-rich, professional design tool with a solid focus on print design and publication workflow. It is very flexible and stable. I would not likely consider switching to any competitive product.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

The user-interface can be a little bit intimidating to new users. I work with many junior designers or people in communications roles who do not have formal training in design and layout for print. There are many aspects of the daily use of InDesign that you "just have to learn" - it is not 100% intuitive, and many key features and functional intentions take a lot of practice (or guidance by an experienced user). While the user community is vast, and free online help resources are abundant, there is a little bit of a tendency for experienced InDesign users to not be very knowledgeable outside of the primary focus that is InDesign (the print and publication design industries). Adobe also seems to have a bit of a vague focus for this product - sometimes touting it as a suitable tool for designing and producing a website (it is NOT), or rich media (it fails horribly at this). These are features that simply muddy the waters. Adobe InDesign should be about print layout, typesetting, and publication design. Full stop. It shines here, but pales in comparison in any other use-case - Ironically, compared to other Adobe products most of the time.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

In print publication design, the biggest challenge is managing the workflow of text and graphics content from various suppliers. Adobe InDesign contains more advanced features that help automate this aspect of projects when working with teams of contributors who are often all over the world. While InDesign "on it's own" is not the solution entirely, it does a pretty good job of balancing more technical, at-scale projects along side the ability to handle simple, more common day to day layout and production tasks.

  ### 19. The best desktop publishing & typesetting application.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** PRIYAM V. | Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 24, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

-Apart from workflows to design flyers, brochures, magazines & newspapers, InDesign also has a digital publication suite to design and publish content suitable for tablets & mobile phones.

-InDesign also provides collaboration tools to streamline content creation while working with the team. The tool is known as Share For Review.

-InDesign supports several font types including OpenType, TrueType & Adobe Fonts family.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

InDesign has a learning curve. UI is complicated & working on the product requires formal trainings.

InDesign is a large sized application and eats up most of the RAM & CPU while it's running.

InDesign subscription plans are expensive. As a standalone application the subscription starts from $20.99 per month.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign is our default application for all designing activities related to our print media. Being a financial firm we are constantly creating designs for flyers & handbooks. InDesign's 'indd' files are accepted by our press as well.

  ### 20. A simple, yet excellent tool for designers

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dyuti B. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 05, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I am a marketing minor student, and I was introduced to Adobe Indesign in class. It's honestly a great tool for visual designing and crafting. It has a simple platform for navigation and has a vast variety of typographic tools. I would recommend this for people creating visually appealing comms, poets, and publishers. It's great software for PR.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Since I get it from university, it comes at no cost to me as a student but when I checked the price online for an individual subscription- god! its ver expensive. In the sense, its limited to use for beginners but a good investment for professionals.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Helps with collaboration on documents, all live for different teams to work together on cohesive and complex projects. Adobe's tools allows me to design even extensive docs in a creative manner

  ### 21. Excellent Programs with Advanced Functions

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emily S. | Project Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Adobe Creative Cloud offers a variety of helpful programs for those looking to create, edit, or view professional documents such as graphic design, forms, and more.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Internet connection is required to sync documents between programs. This is not a program you can buy to own, per se, but you will have to pay a monthly/yearly fee to utilize its services.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When creating social media graphics, flyers, brochures, handouts, postcards, etc., clients look for specific detals to be included, such as appropriate branding. In terms of graphic design, these programs solve the issue of needing marketing collateral that will stand out and look professional.

  ### 22. A Review for Adobe InDesign

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** sagar n. | Sr. UI/UX cum Graphics Designer, Design, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 28, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

The layout design perfection of Adobe InDesign is what I like most. It is a powerhouse for producing expert materials, including flyers, magazines, brochures, and ebooks. It provides great control over font, page components, and formatting. Another major benefit of InDesign is how well it works with other Adobe Creative Cloud applications like Photoshop and Illustrator. As a result, my process is simple, and I can readily add graphics and photos to my layouts. For graphic designers and publishers, InDesign is a must-have product since it excels at creating print-ready materials and interactive digital publications.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

The learning curve of Adobe InDesign is something I don't enjoy, especially for people who are new to professional layout design. It might take some time to become accustomed to the capabilities of the programme due to the quantity of features and functions, which can initially feel overwhelming. Additionally, speed problems, especially with huge files, might occasionally result when working on complex layouts. Compatibility issues can make working with people who don't use InDesign difficult. Despite these difficulties, InDesign remains the industry standard for producing professional print and digital designs after you get over the learning curve.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Anyone involved in layout and design may use Adobe InDesign to address problems. It deals with the difficulty of creating aesthetically appealing, expertly structured papers. InDesign makes the process more efficient whether I'm working on a magazine layout, a business brochure, or an interactive ebook. My material will seem polished, organised, and prepared for print or digital release as a result. The variety and accuracy of the programme help me by saving time, improving the calibre of my designs, and enabling me to realise my creative vision in a way that appeals to readers and spectators.

  ### 23. Adobe InDesign - It's Adobe, for better or worse

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew T. | Technology Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 05, 2020

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

InDesign keeps things in line with the other products in the Adobe Suite. The interface is pretty familiar. As with any Adobe product there is a learning curve, but I feel InDesign is easier to pick up in that it is more focused on copy and content layout, not so much on content creation like Photoshop or Illustrator.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

While I don't use InDesign as much as I used to, I never really felt there was anything missing or things I didn't like.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe InDesign:**

Adobe is the industry standard. Even if you decide to use other software, you really should know how to use Adobe software too.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign is best for layout, for me it is with projects like flyers/sell sheets, catalogs, and brochures. While Photoshop and Illustrator can handle these types of projects, InDesign manages them better.

  ### 25. Clean & efficient content design software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

InDesign is clean without being bare. You can be a novice and use InDesign or an expert, and the tool will work for you. Compared to other platforms like Publisher or Word, there is endless freedom for creating beautiful yet simple content.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

InDesign (and Adobe in general) can feel daunting to approach, as it is not the most user friendly. I do believe that InDesign is the most friendly of the entire suite, but it is not immediately intuitive. Thankfully Adobe has a wonderful support and Knowledge Base that allows users to use the tool to their decided level of skill as well as further training.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign helps my team create large page spreads of content in a clean and concise way without having to do loads of formatting or setup work. It has cut our design and production time in half with its template abilities and makes the process easy for our printers to finish the job.

  ### 26. Adobe Creative Cloud - Still Relevant?

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel M. | Information Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

The best things about ACC (Adobe Creative Cloud are the the variety and quality of creative software available in just one package. The software is updated frequently and automagically, and you have access to stock artwork, models, fonts and collaboration software as well as cloud storage.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

The downsides are mostly around pricing, but for professionals, this is just a small cost per month that is fully deductible, unlike an outright purchase. Another negative, though less visible, is the number of "helpers" that run in the background and the need for an always-on internet connection.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ACC helps me create web and print graphic images, books, magazines, logos, stationery, packaging, videos, animations, soundtracks, and many more, all software working together and then helping to share and collaborate with team members and clients.

I don't have anything negative to say about Adobe Creative Cloud. I have heard in the past that people struggled with the mobile version of Adobe products, but have not had any of the same issues!

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe Creative Cloud is solving our graphic design shortfalls, gives us the ability to collect signed contracts, and helps our organization keep a variety of files well-organized.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan N. | Marketing Coordinator / Recruiting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

InDesign is awesome for generating any sort of multi-page marketing material. We use it for compiling proposal PDFs and the endless features of formatting text, incorporating pictures, tables, graphics, and other visual elements is unparalleled. InDesign is such a powerful application and I feel like we only scratch the surface of all it's capabilities. If you are a marketer/designer, you have to utilize InDesign because it can do just about everything you need.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Sometimes InDesign can be a little limited when trying to add effects to text or pictures. It is most effective for formatting large amounts of text compared to making a small, simple graphics. Also, at times things can be pretty tricky in trying to get the program to do what you want it to do. There is a definitely a big learning curve, but once you start to understand it, it can really be powerful.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign is our default program for compiling any sort of marketing material. We use it for resumes, project profiles, and proposals. Using the paragraph styles is a game changer and makes it easy to maintain consistency throughout any kind of document.

  ### 29. The Ferrari of vector layout programs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mario C. | Diseñador web, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I have worked in layout at printing houses and tried other programs, and this is the top one without a doubt. It is very user-friendly, yet it has enormous potential. With each version, they keep adding improvements that maintain it at number one. It costs less than 30€ a month and is worth having whether you design logos or layout magazines, posters... an essential on my computer.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Well, I have nothing bad to say, I've been using it my whole life and it seems very easy to me. Perhaps, to give a slight criticism, it could be improved a little in keyboard shortcuts.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me a lot in the design of posters and especially in vector corporate images. It has a lot of potential there with the vector pen tool and its possibilities to cut, join, etc., when you modify shapes or outlined texts.

  ### 30. Top of the class

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kaja K. | Translator and novelist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 25, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Adobe InDesign is a robust software that lets me hand in my translation in a format that is print ready for my customers. It cuts out several steps from the publishing timeline and makes it easier and faster to get the books to market.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

The software is not always very intuitive, but knowing other Adobe softwares makes it easy to get started, and whenever I run into a problem the solution is usually a quick Google search away.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am a translator working mainly on non fiction books. When I can translate directly into Adobe InDesign, the process is quicker for both me and my clients. Removing steps from the publishing timeline.

  ### 31. Almost perfect tool for the purpose it serves but with the steep cost.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay M. | Stamping Press Technician, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 20, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Typography tools and the intuitive layout. Diverse functionality and the control it allows the user to implement on a project is unparallel. It has efficient workflow features. Designers can create and save reusable templates and libraries.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

It is resournce intensive meaning user needs to have a powerfull system to utilize this tool. It is possibility that when user is in need of this tool, they also have some other software of Adobe ecosystem, which again are resource intensive. Together they ask for a lot. Second downside would be that, it comes with a steep cost.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This tool is helping us create intuitive and high quality work instructions as well as product user manual documents.

  ### 32. I am learning Adobe InDesign and loving it

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 19, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

Adobe InDesign is a really useful tool when needing to print marketing colateral. I am using a Photoshop user but I have found Photoshop pixelated when things are printed.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

It is very complicated to use and there are some differences from Photoshop which I feel like could be the same and cause less confusion.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I usually use Photoshop but recently I have needed to print marketing collateral. Unfortuantely Photoshop files pixelated when printing but inDesign allows for clean edges and great colour.

It can be difficult for beginners to understand the complex interface of Adobe InDesign. It may take some time for new users to understand the full capabilities of the software.
Adobe Creative Cloud has a subscription-based pricing model. It may be a financial burden for individual designers or small businesses on a tight budget to have access to regular updates and additional Adobe applications.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Indesign is a complicated program that took me years to master. I am still learning new things.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe InDesign:**

Take a course first before diving in.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

InDesign is our go-to for graphics.

  ### 38. Amazing when creating any layouts!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shane C. | Design Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 26, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I love how I can easily layout any pictures and texts onto a page and create a poster or page beautiful at the end! The fact that I can also integrate photos, edit them on photoshop and have the changes linked to my InDesign file makes the workflow faster!

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

One downside about Adobe InDesign is that sometimes my links and fonts get lost/I move them by accident. I would need to find those files and relink them to the file which can take awhile especially if you're creating a book/large document.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe InDesign is helping me solve the problems I was encountering when using Word. The ability to move texts, pictures, and fonts anywhere allows me to be creative in laying out/producing documents. Being able to put these into different layers also helps by allowing me to lock a few items and not accidentally moving them.

  ### 39. User Friendly, All-Inclusive

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Civic & Social Organization | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I enjoy that all the Adobe Creative Cloud products interact with each other. They are all easy to use for anyone who just wants the basics but offer more in-depth usage as well. For some actions, you do need further knowledge of programming but most things can be "Googled" and you get a lot of useful tutorials on their website.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

For some actions that seem like they should be very simple and easy to do, they require knowledge of coding/programming. Specifically in the Adobe Acrobat program, there are features that would seem like they would be just simple settings adjustments that I've unfortunately found to require much more in-depth knowledge. I dislike that these products do not interact very well with other brands and make it difficult to work across platforms with collaborators. It's a constant frustration that there are no other products similar to Adobe because they require an annual subscription to use. I'd rather pay full price once and own the product.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It easily allows me to create PDFs and fillable forms. I enjoy being able to create a form completely from scratch using Adobe Acrobat. Photoshop has assisted with everything from simple to complex design tasks. I've used it extensively for theatrical purposes when creating props. InDesign is a great product for creating appealing documents, fliers, and forms in a simple-to-use program.

For quick and fast people InDesign is the software for you.

With InDesign, composing any book or graphic design project has been easy and faster than any other equivalent softwares. As an architect, InDesign helps me in quick presentations at the go.

Adobe Creative Cloud is the industry standard for graphic designers. It's comprehensive and has tools for everything you'd like to achieve.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

I don't love the subscription model. Depending on your computer, the apps tend to run slowly and crash more often than the "dupes" (if you will).

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I run a design agency. We build websites, logos, ads, webpages, templates, etc. We can use Adobe apps for all of these pursuits.

Premiere Pro is intuitive and After Effects can help take motion graphics to the next level.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Graphic Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 22, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

It's pretty easy to use, and the approach to operating one program carries over to the full suite of programs. So if you can navigate on of the Adobe programs, then the learning curve closely applies to the others.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

There are many different ways to complete a project. For example, you can do the same thing with different programs, and though there will be nuances with each, this could be overwhelming for some individuals because of "too many options". In short, there is overlap among programs.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I primarily use Photoshop to create graphics and occasionally edit pictures. Photoshop allows me to be extremely creative and add my personal touch to each project.

  ### 48. InDesign is one of my all-time favorite design tools.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dave p. | Brand Creative Strategist at Dave.pro, Consumer Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

I learned to use levelPro in a little more than a couple of days, I already had a perfect command of illustrator, photoshop and other tools. I was surprised by its speed in viewing large complex documents, its design and layout possibilities with multiple formats and tools to convert a design into a replicable template are the most professional on the market.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

Possibly it is not an easy tool or for beginners. Although its learning curve is fast, its multiple options often go unnoticed by inexperienced users. InDesign is, since its launch, a continuous improvement tool, its constant updates bring it closer to each new format, one of the best on the market.

The depth of design and layout you can achieve with InDesign is unmatched by other specialized design options on the market. enhanced efficiency, workflow leads to creative ideas.

  ### 50. I love InDesign

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 23, 2023

**What do you like best about Adobe InDesign?**

It is hands down the best layout program out there. I love all of the "deep" tools like GREP and print management options. There aren't many competitors out there.

**What do you dislike about Adobe InDesign?**

I wish I could easily export a saddle stitched booklet as a PDF. Right now I can send an imposed saddle stitch book to a printer (device, not the person) and it works from. But I want to be able to export the imposed booklet as a PDF. This is really handy for small scale printing and prototyping. I also wish that I could assign columns to the PAGE rather than a text box. We used to be able to do this in Quark.

**What problems is Adobe InDesign solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Multi-page layouts and repeatable styles. Quickly formatting large amounts of text to match brand guidelines. The handling of accessibility is good but it could be clearer. The whole articles, structure, tags thing is a bit seems like too many similar layers for the same thing.
