**What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?**

Adobe Illustrator is a very efficient tool for creating vector graphics. I mainly use it to create logos and identity designs and sometimes for illustration. The tool has an iPad app that is very fun to use as well. I also like to use it to draw sometimes.
It integrates with other Adobe Creative Cloud apps, which is convenient when working across multiple platforms.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?**

The subscription model can feel a bit pricey, especially if you’re starting or don’t use it daily. Also, the software hangs whenever I try to design anything in 3d and sometimes crashes.

**What problems is Adobe Illustrator solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I often design vector graphics, and many tools available in the market are lacking when it comes to details. Adobe Illustrator offers you some great tools like pen, brush, blend, etc.
Although it has the 3D feature as well, I prefer to use the blend tool to create 3d shapes, which with gradient effects can create many beautiful illustrations.

**Reviewed by:** Zuzana M. | Student, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2021

**What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?**

I love adobe Illustrator. It's effortless to use and create unique illustrations within hours. My favorite feature is the layering and how you can stack many pictures and draw over them. Auto Spell Check is something I do enjoy right now. As a person who is not a native English speaker, this helps me not to make mistakes.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?**

I don't particularly appreciate that sometimes it says my scratch disks are full even though they are not, and the system won't let me work with my files. I have to restart and open the application again. Also, I wouldn't say I like the new Themes that are supposed to help the user, but they have such a poor contrast that it is useless.

**Recommendations to others considering Adobe Illustrator:**

**What problems is Adobe Illustrator solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am solving many issues with illustrator. I am often drawing for my school projects and assignments. I realized that there are features that I love, like Intuitive Simplify Path. Now you can massively reduce the number of anchor points in your illustrations without recognizably changing the outline of your paths. It allows you to draw more precisely, and the illustration does not look that messy.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laura C. | Biz Dev Assistant, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 19, 2024

**What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?**

What I like most about Adobe Illustrator is how precise and flexible it is. The vector tools are great for making anything from detailed designs to simple logos, and everything stays sharp no matter how much you resize it. Plus, it works really well with other Adobe apps, so it’s easy to move between projects.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?**

What I don’t like about Adobe Illustrator is that it can feel a bit overwhelming with all the tools and features, especially if you’re new to it. It also tends to be pretty resource-heavy, so it can slow down your computer if you’re working on a big file.

**What problems is Adobe Illustrator solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adobe Illustrator makes it easy to create high-quality, scalable designs without losing any detail. Whether it’s logos, icons, or detailed illustrations, the precision and control help bring ideas to life exactly how I want. It also saves time by letting me tweak and resize designs without worrying about losing quality.

**Reviewed by:** ytamr c. | Sr. Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?**

What I like most about Adobe Illustrator is that we can implement new drawing styles at a vector level, and this helps us to be able to apply it in various media, both digital and print.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?**

What I don't like about Illustrator is that there should be more extensions to make the work easier.

**What problems is Adobe Illustrator solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problems I perceive are that there are some tools that should already be updated, mainly having an online library of brushes and being able to modify them more easily without having to go through as many steps as before. It benefits me in that I can look for other alternatives, and that has led me to find artists who share their brushes or vector graphics.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?**

Illustrator is a highly complex software with many tools and features, which can feel overwhelming to new users. Mastering it can take time, especially for those without prior design experience

**What problems is Adobe Illustrator solving and how is that benefiting you?**

There is a lot i can use Adobe Illustrator for as:
Creating artwork that needs to be resized without losing quality, such as logos, icons, and illustrations, is difficult with raster-based software.
Benefit: Illustrator’s vector-based structure allows me to create clean, scalable graphics that retain quality at any size, from business cards to billboards. This is essential for delivering high-quality assets to clients and maintaining design integrity across mediums.
Managing multiple design versions or assets in a single project can get messy in simpler design tools that lack advanced layer or artboard functionality.
Benefit: Illustrator’s multi-artboard and advanced layer management features streamline my workflow, allowing me to handle complex projects efficiently. I can experiment with variations, organize my assets, and work on multiple components simultaneously within a single file, which saves time and keeps projects organized.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter V. | Director of Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2024

**What do you like best about Adobe Illustrator?**

Illustrator has any design need that I require. There are different user presets that allow for more of a beginner's or expert's preferred interface. It is quite intuitive, and when it is not, there are always prompts that you can click for a quick instruction. It works better than anything I've used in the past, which is nice because it is a product that I use everyday. I've only had to reach out to Customer Support one time and they were quick in getting me a solution. Illustrator easily integrates with all other Adobe products and can be implemented to anything you could imagine. Illustrustrator is great for work or just as a hobby designer.

**What do you dislike about Adobe Illustrator?**

While it can be nice for beginners, there is still a bit of a learning curve to utilize all of the neat tools that Illustrator has to offer. But there is access to all sorts of tutorials provided by Adobe.

**What problems is Adobe Illustrator solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With being a restaruant owner, there are large costs in creating menus, signs, logos, etc. By utilizing Illustrator, I am able to save tons on design costs and I am guaranteed to get the design I want.

Not a dislike exactly...but since there are so many features in Illustrator, you might have to look up some of the elements if you don't use them all the time.

I wish it had a hot button to select colors so you don't have to toggle your key commands and just eyedrop the color like Photoshop does without having to deselect your brush or fill tool.

**What problems is Adobe Illustrator solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have used Illustrator for 30 years and I can't imagine my world without it. Anything I need to draw, I know I can use Illustrator to get it done.
