What I really appreciate is the flexibility to use nearly any platform as a content backend. Whether it's Google Drive, SharePoint, or a variety of CDNs such as Cloudflare—using a Cloudflare Worker—Akamai, Fastly, or even a custom CDN setup, the options are extensive. I find it especially useful that I can use documents and spreadsheets stored in Google Drive or content from SharePoint as sources, which adds a lot of convenience. I am not particularly fond of how expensive Adobe Experience Manager seems to be when it comes to annual site licensing costs, especially compared to its competitors. Additionally, I am not a big fan of Java stacks in general. On the positive side, being able to handle styling using only npm and Node.js is a decent consolation. In the past, ABB managed a fragmented stack, with their websites scattered across different platforms, each built using various technologies and tools. This made maintenance a challenging and cumbersome process. With the leadership of David Campillo, ABB began to streamline their approach by replacing many of their independent sites with Adobe Experience Manager. The product details aren't integrated into the system like PIM, so everything has to be done manually. It should suggest how to run platforms to ensure clients use the tech to its full potential. The SaaS model stands out, along with the solution’s flexibility and scalability, and the level of customization possible through the integrated technologies. Pricing is pretty high, with additional overhead on top of the basic necessities. Performance scoring is poor with the client libraries model, and it ends up forcing clients to implement headless. In our use case, AEM compartmentalizes content and business logic, which makes the solution more scalable. I appreciate Adobe Experience Manager for its better integration with other Adobe products, which really enhances our workflow. I particularly enjoy the authoring experience, making content creation more efficient. The digital asset management (DAM) feature is also something I like, as it helps in organizing and managing our digital assets effectively.
