Adobe is the standard for the industry. However, I think there are better options out there that are much more affordable and often faster. Adobe Reader takes a long time to open. Most browsers now support reading pdf files and Microsoft Edge often kidnaps the default application settings. I have tired of fighting MS and now use Edge as my primary pdf reader. Adobe products tend to have a lot of overhead. I prefer to use lighter weight products, or products that I already have - like office suites, either MS or LibreOffice. "A Fully Featured PDF Editor Worth the Price" 4.5/5 What do you like best about Adobe Acrobat? Adobe Acrobat is the standard for opening, editing, and creating PDFs. There are lots of other, cheaper PDF editors, but I think having one that is fully functional is worth the money. I like being able to convert PDF's to Word documents and other formats. What do you dislike about Adobe Acrobat? The UI is a bit confusing at first, since some of the important options are hidden in menus. I don’t have any specific feature that stands out as my favorite; it’s simply the option I prefer most overall. I also like that it can be part of a suite rather than an individual purchase. Even though the packages can be costly, as a professional filmmaker I stick with the Adobe Suite because it keeps my workflow organised and makes it easy to move seamlessly from one stage to the next.
