AddSearch works very well with WordPress, and we have installed it on several client sites where search was a priority. The search is fast, "thinks ahead" by displaying results even before the search terms are completely entered, and displays an attractive thumbnail graphic with each search results. Search goes against a good number of document types, including PDFs, and that's important for many of our B2B business clients. What problems is AddSearch solving and how is that benefiting you? Many clients like to exclude certain pages from some searches, or to give a higher priority for certain pages. AddSearch provides lots of custom search potential and solves challenges like this easily. It can also search across multiple domains -- so using search to comb through, say, both WordPress pages as well as cloud service pages, like Zendesk, is much needed and truly impressive. I like that addsearch can index the public pages of multiple related websites, and I can then search either individual websites or groups of websites. I did run into some issues with the crawler being confused by redirects that were basically standardizing URLs from no trailing slash to a trailing slash. I've found a way to work around this, basically by modifying the sitemap.xml generated by my CMS. This is an edge case that most people aren't likely to run into. "Great Search Tool for Client Sites" 5/5 What do you like best about AddSearch? Being a development shop, the added benefit of implementing AddSearch for client sites is invaluable. Once they try it out they're sold on the efficiency of users being able to find content and easily convert them. The basic widget implementation takes little to no technical expertise to get up and running. Beyond that, you can get as custom as you want given your development ability. Solving the issue of basic out of the box generic search you get with content management systems. Those just keyword query a database, where AddSearch is much more powerful than that. The AddSearch team are always improving the system and have included this within the price. We use the custom search UI to show the results in our Corporate Design style. The performance is outstanding and the possibilites the Dashboard offers are so diverse; We can add hidden keywords, use synonym groups or change the weight (relevance) of a single page in the index. You can even set the order of results for specific keywords which is really helpful in our case (big index). Custom meta tags help us to add individual labels to our search results which improves the user's understanding of what he can expect on that page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about AddSearch? These observations only relate to technical limitations until now. It would be great if search suggestions could be filtered as well, for example to only show suggestions matching a specific site. Using handlebars.js as template library requires quite a bit to getting used to but it works well if you use custom helper functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What problems is AddSearch solving and how is that benefiting you? We maintain multiple WordPress websites and always had the problem of the missing link between them. Users could not search for topics on other sites. AddSearch solves exactly this problem. The great performance is definitely a benefit that increases usability and user experience since site search becomes more and more important. They have a great product that you can put on your site and helps your visitors find what they are looking for.
