It allows users to create, maintain, and manage databases. DBMS manipulates the database as per the user requirements. Using DBMS ensures that the data of an organization is clean, consistent, secure, relevant, and supports concurrency. Along with the standard database functionalities (e.g., CRUD operations), DBMS software has much stronger management capabilities. These include functions like stronger metadata visibility and analysis, in-depth and custom reporting, performance monitoring, usage analytics, and compliance checks. Extensive solutions may offer capabilities of [database backup software](https://www.g2.com/categories/database-backup), [data replication software](https://www.g2.com/categories/data-replication), [disaster recovery software](https://www.g2.com/categories/disaster-recovery), or [disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) software](https://www.g2.com/categories/disaster-recovery-as-a-service-draas), as well.
