"Solid Tool with Some Clunky Customization Challenges"
3/5
What do you like best about Acumatica?

Acumatica offers a wide range of features and capabilities that are very user-friendly. One aspect I particularly appreciate is the flexibility to assign various levels of access to different users within our organization. This has made a significant difference, as it allows our operations team to access the information they need for their projects directly in Acumatica, without having to rely on the accounting team for assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

It can be a bit clunky at times, and to get any customization/changes done on the system can be a bit challenging Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

What do you like best about Acumatica?

No new things were brought to my attention by Acumatica. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

Introduce more AI to speed up certain things Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

Hi Saiful!

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback! We're glad Acumatica has made tracking revenue and expenses easier for your team.

That said, we hear you on wanting more AI capabilities. The good news is that AI is a big focus for us right now. Our 2026 R1 release introduced "AI Everywhere," including an AI Assistant that lets you ask questions in plain language and instantly surfaces answers, charts, and dashboards. It's well worth exploring if faster workflows are a priority for you. We'd also love for you to check out Beacon (linked below), our free knowledge hub at beacon.acumatica.com, where you'll find product documentation, videos, and training materials to help you get more out of the platform. Acumatica Open University is another great resource, with free courses covering everything from Reporting and Customization to Project Management.

And if you'd like to connect with other users who may have tackled similar challenges, the Acumatica Community is a great place to share ideas and learn from peers. We're always working to make Acumatica better, and feedback like yours genuinely helps us get there.

What do you like best about Acumatica?

It integrates with our 3rd party payroll software. It includes a two way sync and adding new projects or subaccounts are almost instantly synced to the payroll software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

Putting in the work before going live is important. We had a negative implementation process. I wish we would have had a better vendor (we've since switched) so that we could have had it set up properly. Once the system is built out it's hard to make changes. "Reliable, Great-Value Platform with Strong Customization"
5/5
What do you like best about Acumatica?

I love the standard tables, reports, and workflows. But the ability to customize it myself and with third parties really makes it shine. It's reliable and great value for the price. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

Some of the UI makes transforming tables into reports tricky. It really needs PowerBI to show data well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

Hi There!

Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! It's genuinely great to hear that the standard workflows, customization flexibility, and reliability have made such a real difference for your AR/AP processes and manufacturing tracking. That's exactly what we aim for.

Regarding the reporting UI, we completely hear you. Transforming tables into polished reports can feel like more effort than it should, and we appreciate you being candid about that. If you haven't already, we'd encourage you to check out the S130 Data Retrieval and Analysis and S150 Report Designer courses on Acumatica Open University (linked below), both of which walk through building and tailoring reports in a much more intuitive way.

For the Power BI side of things, the I300 Data Retrieval with OData course covers exactly how to expose your Acumatica data to Power BI for richer visualizations. The Acumatica Community (community.acumatica.com) also has some great threads on Power BI integration that our users have found helpful.

We hope these resources make a real difference, and we truly value having you as part of the Acumatica community!

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

Hi Michael!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We're really glad to hear that the modern UI has been intuitive and easy to personalize for your team. Hearing that Acumatica has helped streamline your receivables processing, bank reconciliation, and data workflows genuinely makes our day. Since you mentioned the multi-company functionality is causing some friction, we'd love to point you toward a couple of resources that may help. The F300 Intercompany Transactions course on Acumatica Open University (linked below) walks through configuring companies with branches and processing interbranch documents step by step.

You can also connect with other users and our team directly through the Acumatica Community at community.acumatica.com, where conversations around multi-company setups come up often. We're always working to make things better, and feedback like yours helps us get there.

"Centralizes Finance, Needs Better Templates"
3.5/5
What do you like best about Acumatica?

I like that Acumatica allows us to share the same chart of accounts across all our companies. It's really helpful having all the company data in the same tenant as it makes cross-checking internal invoices easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

I find the periods/months difficult to read, and the balance sheet and profit & loss don't have a standard template; everything needs to be tailor-made. The initial setup wasn't easy at all, every setting is so specific. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

Hi Gigi,

Thank you for sharing your experience! We love that our ERP solution helps you consolidate your budget, invoice approval, and payroll into a single platform to streamline your processes. Sharing the same chart of accounts across your companies clearly makes cross-checking internal invoices easy for your team.

We also appreciate your honest feedback about the complex initial setup, reading the financial periods, and the challenge of building custom balance sheet and profit and loss templates. To make reporting easier, we encourage you to explore the free F100 Financial Basics and F350 Analytical Reports courses under the Implementation of Finance section on the Acumatica Open University (linked below). You can also join the Financials forum in the Acumatica Community to collaborate with peers, share best practices, and find helpful template solutions.

Together, we can ensure you get the exact data insights you need to support your continued growth.

"Steep Learning Curve, Needs Better Support"
1.5/5
What do you like best about Acumatica?

I like the interfaces and the ability to upload entries. I also appreciate the connectivity with Velixo. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

It's difficult to use Acumatica to its fullest potential in my organization. The system has cumbersome reporting, so we rely heavily on external financials for reporting. The out-of-the-box reports do not work, and we struggle to address our issues within the system. Existing reports do not run, so we have to use ARM to create our own, and my team is not very savvy beyond Excel. Modules need to be set up individually, which adds too much overhead. Customizations that could improve operations, like dashboards and GIs and AI, require a coding background that my team lacks. It's hard to find a setting toggle or key item, which makes it almost unusable. We spend too much time looking for answers externally. There's minimal support for optimizing the software, and our business branches were set up in a non-GAAP compliant way, which complicates things. The initial setup was poor and we have to deal with these mistakes every day. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

Bax,

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. I hear your frustration, and I want to address your concerns directly.

First, I am glad to hear that you like the user interface, the ability to upload entries, and the Velixo connectivity. It is great that our ERP solution provides a solid record-keeping foundation for your accounts payable, accounts receivable, and journal entries.

However, because our system is so flexible, early structural mistakes make everything else feel incredibly difficult. You should not have to manage these errors alone. I strongly suggest working with your current certified partner—or reaching out to your Acumatica Customer Success Manager—to untangle that initial setup. A good partner will help you fix the core structure so your team can stop fighting the software.

I also completely understand your struggles with reporting, ARM, and system customizations. While these tools do have a learning curve, you can find free, step-by-step training on the Acumatica Open University. We built specific courses for everyday users to help them master these reporting tools without needing a developer.

Finally, if you find yourself spending hours looking for a specific setting or toggle, please visit the Acumatica Community portal. Thousands of users, creators, and partners share advice, answer questions, and help each other optimize their daily workflows there.

We want your ERP solution to empower your team, not hold you back. Please look into these community and training resources (you can find links to both Open University & the Community Portal under the Services & Resources menu item on our website) and connect with a partner to get your system back on track.

What do you like best about Acumatica?

I like that Acumatica is easy to use, cloud-based, and lets me manage accounting, inventory, and reports in one place. It also makes it easy to access data from anywhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

Hi Joanna!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, this kind of feedback means a lot to us! We're thrilled to hear that Acumatica's cloud-based platform is helping you manage your accounting, inventory, and reporting all in one place.

"Mobile Access and Flexibility Shine, Reports Need Improvement"
5/5
What do you like best about Acumatica?

I appreciate Acumatica's mobile access in a world that increasingly requires EASY access from anywhere. It's a nice change from our legacy system, which had matured to the point where growth was stunted. I also like that Acumatica is a young product with plenty of room to grow. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

More reports available out of box at implementation are desperately needed-new customers learning a new system do NOT need to have to learn how to do a GI or master reporting software just to get the data they need. The report designer lacks much to be desired... complete overhaul is in order. Lack of basic out-of-box reports was a big headache and stressor. Knowing I had to reinvent the wheel, to get something I knew other customers also needed, was frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

Hi Julie!

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We're thrilled to hear that mobile access has made such a positive difference for your team, and that the flexibility to work from anywhere has been a refreshing change from your legacy system.

You're absolutely right that strong reporting should feel approachable from day one, and we genuinely appreciate you naming that pain point so clearly. Since this review is a few months old now, we're hopeful you've already discovered some helpful resources, but in case they're useful, Acumatica Open University (linked below) offers a few free courses worth exploring: "S130 Data Retrieval and Analysis" walks you through creating generic inquiries, advanced filters, and pivot tables, while "S150 Report Designer" covers building and configuring reports step by step.

The Acumatica Community is another great place to turn, with practical threads like the "Acumatica Report Designer Guide" and "Creating Simple Generic Inquiry" where fellow users share tips and templates.

Thank you again for helping us grow. Feedback like yours genuinely shapes where we go next.

"Intuitive ERP with Seamless Integration, Needs Better Native CPQ"
5/5
What do you like best about Acumatica?

I like Acumatica's intuitive UI, which makes the barrier for entry easy. It's set up well for integrations and customizations, allowing it to feed into and be driven by existing systems. I also find the cost to be very competitive, making the larger more Enterprise ERP options less enticing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Acumatica?

The CPQ functionality is limited. Although there are external systems that can be bolted on to handle this, it would be better if this was native functionality in the tool. There are two major things the current system doesn't handle well. The first is multi-level BOMs. Being able to create BOMs with configurations and stack them on top of each other to create a larger product, while maintaining the ability to configure each subassembly on a sales order or quote is key. The second is the ability to integrate with CAD systems like SolidWorks, where engineers build their models that house the rules for how to update the BOMs as configurations change. Also, much of the necessary data isn't available at initial setup, so we have to standardize and collect it, which makes the process long. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Ashley Spence of Acumatica

Hi Dustin,

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thoughtful review. We’re thrilled to hear that our cloud-based ERP solution provides a single source of truth for your data, enabling timely and accurate business decisions.

We value your feedback and are excited to share that our 2026 Acumatica releases include updates to address the challenges you mentioned.

Enhanced Product Configurator

Robust, native Configure, Price, Quote functionality is essential. We’re introducing major enhancements to our Product Configurator. You’ll now be able to manage complex, multi-level Bills of Materials directly in the system. This allows you to stack configurations for larger products while retaining the flexibility to configure subassemblies on a sales order or quote.

Native SolidWorks Integration

To improve connectivity with design tools, Acumatica will include native SolidWorks integration. This will let your engineering team seamlessly sync models, ensuring Bills of Materials automatically update with configuration changes.

AI-Powered Data Migration

We know initial data setup can be time-consuming. The new release includes AI tools to simplify and standardize data migration, reducing setup time and minimizing manual work.

Your insights inspire us to keep innovating and building a scalable platform that reduces costs and empowers your team. Thank you for being a vital part of our success and feel free to learn more about the 2026 R1 release in the link shared below.
