The large depth of the features covers all common and complex business scenarios in Finance (GL, Cash Management,, AP, AR), Sales (Quotes, Sales orders, shipments, returns, ..), Purchasing (Product Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Product receipts, Billing, Payment processing), Inventory (items, assemblies, kits, warehouses, lots, bins, serial #, ..), Project Management, Fixed Asset Management, HR (payroll, employee Management), Tax Management. The flexibility is enabled by the configuration capability in Acumatica. The end user can easily set the parameters for eg. inventory replenishment, item costing, GL account preference for stock, non stock and service items, etc. This is done without any programming. The extensibility enables the end user to add fields to a screen or form or report without any programming. The end user can embed Sharepoint sites, any webpages, and any self created wiki pages. In addition to this, the Web REST Services API and SDK of the Acumatica ERP platform enables an Independent Software Vendor to add industry specific applications such as Discrete Manufacturing Management, Retail Management Systems, Warehouse Management Systems, Parcel carrier systems, Tax Management systems, Property management systems, Construction Management systems, Field service Management systems, etc. All the above industry specific applications are already today integrated with Acumatica ERP, and running at many businesses with great success. Yes you will have to study hard but, you will get to master an ERP that is so powerful that you will be able to do everything you want. This is a true cloud ERP that can run in your private cloud, in a public cloud or on your servers. The software performance can easily handle many thousands of transactions a day. Benefits The benefits are as follows: . I can now really master the cash flow situation of my company, and if there are problems, I can spot them ahead and identify them at the level needed. I avoid the typical cash shortage crises when payroll is due. . I avoid overstocking and understocking items . I can now easily do a cost break-even analysis so that when I need to decide to hire more people, I can find out from my cost break-even analysis how much more sales I need to generate to cover the cost of added personnel. , The customer and vendor portals enable my company to interact with my customers and vendors on a daily basis. It allows me to search and find what Im looking for without having to type the exact term, which is extremely helpful. **What do you dislike about Acumatica?** I wish the system came with more out-of-the-box dashboard widgets that are relevant to my use inside the system. I also want the system to include better reporting systems out-of-the-box as well. We spend a large majority of our time having to write custom reports that prevent us from executing other tasks, slowing down our productivity. **What problems is Acumatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** Acumatica has solved a litany of issues for us. Our previous system was completely inadequate, so Acumatica has enabled us to have a much better visibility of our inventory, sales and accounting as a whole. The program itself and its data are both stored solely on your computer. So if you want to access the information, then you need to be using the computer you downloaded the software to. Cloud software is connected to the internet. It stores its information online so that it doesn’t take up space on your computer. You can also access this software from any computer using an online account with an internet connection. The first benefit of cloud software is its price. On-premise software tends to be expensive, and it adds up when you have to buy multiple users and an IT team to manage your server. Cloud software usually comes as a low-cost subscription that can be used by everyone in your office without buying multiple accounts. This can end up saving you a lot of money in the long run, especially if it’s software your employees use every day. Cloud software also tends to be a lot more secure. This is because it’s stored on an online server rather than on your computer. It makes it a little harder for hackers to get into your software even if they install spyware on your computer. This makes your business and customers’ information much safer. You can go about your work feeling confident that your customers will never have a problem due to your business being hacked. **What do you dislike about Acumatica?** The main issue with cloud computing is that it requires access to the internet. The good news is that the internet is almost everywhere these days. It seems like every building and even some parks have wifi available for everyone to use. So, unless you live somewhere that doesn’t have reliable internet, then this shouldn’t be too much of an issue for you. But if you do live somewhere with limited wifi, then you may be relying on data hotspots for your internet. This uses up a lot of data, and not everyone has an unlimited plan. That means that you may burn through your plan’s allotted data before the end of your pay cycle. **Recommendations to others considering Acumatica:** So, there are a lot of pros and cons to consider when comparing on-premise vs. cloud software. On-premise keeps everything in one place for you while cloud software is cheaper in the long run, saves space on your computer, and keeps you and your customers’ data secure. While it’s clear that cloud software is the future for businesses everywhere and can help reach your company’s bottom lines, switching your company to the cloud right now might not be the most advantageous time. I would suggest diving in head first and educating yourself on the pros and cons ASAP **What problems is Acumatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** Disconnected systems are eliminated. Managed IT services cost is eliminated. We retain top talent with a next generation system. We have been able to take action on issues or workflows quicker and this has resulted in an increase in productivity. ### 4. I wouldn't recommend the online university because the documentation doesn't match the version used for the tutorial. **What problems is Acumatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** So far, the company that hired me is only using Acumatica to reformat their stock items so that they can be published to Magento in ecommerce. The part about it that has the lowest common denominator winning out sometimes is very confusing. The fact that I give rights to one role and it then revokes it from everyone else. Maybe, the security should just be set or given a value. Additionally, we're looking forward to getting the advanced expense management rolled out. Hopefully, this will help alleviate the lost receipt issues!! **What do you dislike about Acumatica?** One downside, if you can call it that, is the licensing requirement. As mentioned in regards to rolling out advanced management, we will need licensing for all users who want to be able to submit an expense report (which is pretty much everyone). But, fortunately, upgrading to unlimited users is pretty reasonable. **What problems is Acumatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our approval process was very archaic and dependent on physically chasing a person down to get a signature. With Acumatica, activities can be tracked at the contact level, tasks can be assigned for follow-up to fellow users, and there is a long history on the relationship in one centralized area (as opposed to inboxes, notes or info that simply leaves when an employee leaves). This centralized intelligence makes a better customer experience with less time required by the organization. ### 13. The amount of costing methods is excellent, and the reports that our team can create are helpful. Since our team uses this for construction, project setup is reasonably easy for us. The customization of dashboards and GI tables gives us the ability to tailor the application to our team's needs. The operations team is able to navigate the desktop and mobile app with only a few hiccups. When the mobile app is working correctly, the ability to enter expenses on the go has been great. With the different approval settings available, getting expenses in the system is fast. This has helped our accounting team greatly, as they have been able to close out the monthly books quicker than they ever have before. **What do you dislike about Acumatica?** The construction management side of the software is not perfect. There are a lot of areas that still need improvement. The field service tool is one of those areas. The field report section is not all there yet. The ease of entering information is not great. In a field service tool, team members need to be able to quickly enter information and reference their logs. Coming from Procore, this service is severely lacking. The mobile app can be clunky at times. We have had many issues with team members being unable to access certain areas of the application, as well as having issues with getting into the app. **What problems is Acumatica solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have solved the problem of our ops team not having direct access to financials.
