1. Setting up the system is difficult and complicated. There has to be higher levels of competency for administrators and the project team; and new people would find it difficult to learn the internal structure and set-up making the company dependent on the original administrators.
2. Local support is not yet strong enough, and there is not enough knowledge online to easily google solutions to problems. Our controller likes the way that the accounting side is set up but I don't have much experience with that (I am mostly working in the order entry and shipping side.). Accounting, inventory, order entry, and shipping all on one is nice.

The order entry, shipping, and customer portal are all quite cumbersome. Their "device hub" software for printing does not work on Macs so it is an annoying process to print packing slips and shipping labels.
I wish all of the order entry fields were visible at once instead of having to go through different tabs.
Some of the international shipping carrier integrations generate forms that could cause customs problems, we have brought this up to Acumatica and they don't seem to understand or care that they are incorrect.
The auto packaging function only takes total volume into account, (not length, width, and height) which is not useful unless you are shipping water or something that will conform to the box size...
The customer portal is very rudimentary, basically just a catalog. You can't see a photo of the product until you actually click on it, which can be confusing if you have multiple products with similar SKUs like we do. The best part about Acumatica for us was the ability to access the system from anywhere. We went live in late March of 2019, right at the height of the pandemic. There is not much I can say I dislike. I could nitpick at a few minor features, but it would be doing a disservice to the platform. However, if I had to select one improvement I wish would be made, it would be the ability to generate production order from the inventory replenishment screen. The company invests ~75% of their revenue to continual development of the ERP product and to keeping their development platform current. For our company the best part of Acumatica is endless way of the customization. Using many of out of the box functionality we've created add on product to fit our business. With Acumatica we have replaced two systems, and currently working on few more. New Workflow feature would allows us to do customizations in much simple and efficient way. We also were able integrated with Power BI for better reporting, and use Velixo for financials reporting.

Built from the ground up for cloud. Powerful but easy to use with a fairly simple interface and clean design. Because it's built for the cloud the features are extensible through their entire market place of partners that add amazing functionality. It's amazingly fast too. You would think that it's a native application the way it generates reports and completes robust tasks.

I do wish things like creating reports, big imports and creating widgets and dashboards were more user accessible and that we didn't need to rely on our implementation partner so much. Ecommerce is such an important part of our business and Acumatica is in front of the train when it comes the momentum towards ecommerce away from traditional sales methods. We made the switch to Acumatica to streamline order information from Amazon and Shopify and while also making our distribution, wholesale, and manufacturing orders much easier to manage. The minute adjustments that you can make to EVERYTHING is so helpful, but it's a double-edged sword. It's overwhelming to work through all of the user roles to get them to the right level of functionality/productivity while also blocking sensitive information from certain users. Pretty much any field/task can be blocked, but it's unclear until testing how the disabling of a field will muck things up down the line. You really have to test out all of the bugs! We are on the smaller end of Acumatica customers being a manufacturer/ecommerce business of 20 people, so this was a very expensive/scary move for us and we lacked some of the technical know-how to move in the right direction during the initial stages of development. We had create and re-create tables and work flows multiple times because we didn't get the hand-holding we were expecting during the design process. If you get a development consultant that takes the time to understand your products during the early stages, then this should not be as much of a problem for you. My advice is that you should have somebody on staff that really understands relational database structures before launching on your Acumatica journey as this 60% of the work. Acumatica is great at snapshot report generation and pushing alerts/notifications/emails based off of those reports. Our business fluctuates and these tools help us to stay updated/notified.
