I compared all the alternatives to Zapier that is really expensive, and found ActivePieces.

Much more cheaper than the competitors, it's true that they don't have all the integrations from Zapier but it's moving very fast!

Now I'm using it to call some workflow from my code app with Webhooks. It's perfect because I don't have to code all the complex integrations inside my code, and can change quickly things.

It's a bit similar to N8N, you can create branch with conditions, but also easier than N8N.

Last thing that I would have to mention : it's an open source project, so if you have a developper in your team, it's really easy to code your own integration (called "piece")

I had to call Mixpanel from my workflow, but there was no integration. I could create it in one hour with typescript and submit it to the community. 2 days after, it was released on the plateform!

*IF* you're tech savvy, you could probably get AP to do pretty much anything you wanted it to.

It works well when generating ai content through the open.ai integration.

While it may happen *someday*, I don't anticipate AP replacing tools like Zapier anytime in the foreseeable future. It isn't even currently in the same arena to be considered a contender.

Activepieces requires strong tech skills to be useful - even instruction pieces are written in jargon that wouldn't be understood by the average software user.

I can do basic coding and am pretty tech savvy. AP gave me a migraine after spending hours trying to get it to do anything that would be beneficial in connecting my current tech stack. - I finally resigned to plopping in my open.ai api and generating a few ai blog drafts to my Wordpress site. While they'll never actually see the light of day (and there were bugs which wouldn't make me feel confident autoposting anyways), I was just that desperate for some self-efficacy gratification.
