"ActiveCampaign Makes Email Marketing and Automation Easy"
5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

What stands out most about ActiveCampaign is its ease of use. The platform makes it simple to create, organize, and manage email marketing campaigns without requiring extensive technical knowledge. The interface is intuitive, and the available tools make it easier to build professional emails, manage contacts, and create automated customer journeys. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

Some of the more advanced automation and reporting features can take time to fully understand. However, once the initial setup and learning process are complete, the platform becomes much easier to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Update, Its steadily declining, especially support."
0.5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

I used to think have a positive opinion of the services, but theyve been rolling out updates in a halfcocked way and breaking things, and theyve removed the ability to contact an actual support person, so getting support about the features THEY broke with updates is going to take hours. Its only gotten worse for the past few years. Looking at switching Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

Revenue/actions from directly integrated sales channels(eg we have both Shopify and Woocommerce integrated for different uses) are not easily distinguishable in reports or separately useable in automations. And they count revenue over a crazy long window to try and prove their worth but its misleading Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Nicole O. of ActiveCampaign

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. We’re sorry to hear that recent product updates and changes to the support experience have left you frustrated. We understand how disruptive it is when features you rely on break or become harder to troubleshoot, and that’s not the experience we want for our customers. We’d like to look into this further with you, so please reach out to us at help@activecampaign.com and we can take a closer look.

"Easy to use, even for technophobes like me!"
3.5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

As a small business owner I love that ActiveCampaign is simple to use, easily intergratable and has plenty of help on hand. I am a total technophobe and get so anxious about complicated tech but AC is has step by step guides and makes everything manageable. When I can't get something to work, the support team are brilliant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

It can do SO many things that sometimes I feel overwhelmed by possibilities. . .that's a me problem though! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy, Customizable Email Campaigns—But User Sending Permissions Slow Us Down"
3.5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

Setting up both single-email and multi-prompt campaigns is fairly easy with lots of customization options. There are visual tools are simple to use, and you can store templates and campaigns, which is helpful for performance analysis of previous e-mail sends and means you can build on previous successful campaigns to develop future communications. We use Salesforce CRM to bring over contacts, so the integration is fairly seamless. Price-wise is manageable - roughly $200-$300 a month for a medium business but is based on the number of contacts and users. It is a valuable way to reach customers. I've only had to reach out to support once, and while they were fast, the solution was not same-day. There are integrated AI capabilities now but as with anything else, you will have to keep a human touch and oversight to ensure your messaging is consistent with your brand and brand voice. It is not so advanced that you can fire and forget from a single prompt. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

Pricing based on the number of contacts feels unnecessary but I have not compared with competitor pricing models. The biggest current frustration is that some licensed users cannot send the campaigns they create from their account. They have to go to an administrator to send the e-mail which can be frustrating for both parties and is frankly inefficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great value compared to the alternatives"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

Great value for intuitive CRM integrated w/ marketing automation platform, quality integrations w/ 3rd party apps, automations in general including sales automation and lead scoring feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

If something goes wrong, it can be difficult to get support. The burden of proof is on you, which can be infuriating when it was their problem in the first place, and no help cleaning up the mess it made. You get what you pay for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy Automation Sequences and Annalytics, but Pricing Could Be More Flexible"
3.5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

I like the automation sequences and ease of use. There are different options for what you want to do in each step of the sequence, which makes it very useful. I also appreciate the analytics so I can see which emails get opened and which ones don't. This way I can change the headlines and content for the low-open-rate emails. It's great to have these features so I can pivot when things aren't working instead of blindly changing things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

The cost could be less. Especially if you go through periods of not using it much, it would be nice to get a discounted rate or a lower rate for being subscribed long-term. At first, there were times when new campaigns wouldn't send out emails right away when I tested signups, but it seemed to be a lag in the system. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Flexible Automation and Custom HTML for RTL Hebrew Campaigns"
4/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

ActiveCampaign has been solid for running our email campaigns to investors. The automation builder makes it easy to segment and send targeted launches for different products without duplicating a ton of manual work. What's been most valuable is the flexibility around custom HTML blocks, which lets us maintain full control over RTL formatting for Hebrew content instead of being boxed into a rigid template. Their deliverability tooling and support around setting up SPF/DKIM/DMARC properly also made a real difference in getting our campaigns into the inbox rather than spam -that's not something every ESP walks you through clearly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

The automation logic can get unwieldy once you're running several concurrent campaigns targeting different segments the visual builder is great for simple flows but tracking dependencies across more complex ones takes more clicking around than it should. We also ran into deliverability issues early on (SPF/DKIM/DMARC weren't straightforward to get right), and while support eventually helped us sort it out, it would have been useful to have that guidance surfaced proactively rather than something we had to troubleshoot ourselves. Template flexibility is decent, but building fully custom HTML blocks for RTL Hebrew content still requires more manual workarounds than I'd expect from a platform at this price point. "Active Campaign is awesome!"
5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

Having been in Mailchimp and doing work for clients in Keep, I really appreciate the simplicity of Active Campaign, while being robust enough to handle all my needs. Really love it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

Due to my inexperience running automated campaigns, I had trouble having the campaign record my entire list that I wanted to send to, so I did some adjusting and in the process sent my entire automated campaign, at once, to the entire list. Oops. I was heart sick when this happened. Clearly I need to learn a bit more about how to do this. However, that was my only faux pas. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Strong Automation Features With Some Scaling Challenges"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

ActiveCampaign made it easier for us to handle marketing automation and lead management in one place without a steep learning curve. We originally migrated from Mailchimp after needing stronger automation and CRM functionality for more detailed customer journeys. The workflow builder has been one of the most useful features for our team, especially for campaigns triggered by form activity and page visits. CRM syncing has worked well, reporting is practical, and the Google Analytics integration gives us better insight into campaign engagement and website behavior. We have also used the AI features for content suggestions and subject line ideas, which help speed up campaign creation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

As our automations became larger, the workspace started feeling harder to organize, especially with lots of tags, lists, and workflows running at the same time. Some integrations also needed extra setup through tools like Zapier when we wanted more customized workflows. Pricing was manageable early on, but costs increased noticeably once our contact lists scaled. Support was decent for common issues, although more technical questions sometimes took longer to resolve.

The AI features are useful for smaller tasks like content ideas, but they still feel limited compared to standalone AI platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Perfectly Sized and Robust—All the Features We Need"
4.5/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

It’s the perfect size for our company - robust enough to have all of the features we need but not bloated with a lot extra that we never touch. The automation builder and list segmentation features are standout. When managing marketing copy and newsletters for various client accounts, being able to easily segment audiences ensures the right messaging reaches the right people. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

I feel like the automatically designed templates are very poor quality - we would never use any of the generated templates. Additionally, the standard reporting dashboards could be a bit more customizable for times when I need to pull highly specific engagement metrics to include in client scopes of work or performance reviews.
