"Disappointing Support When It Goes Wrong"
0/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

The whole platform is so easy to use, especially when compared to others that are as powerful. I moved across from Confusionsoft a number of years ago and have never looked back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

Recently my automations have stopped working on two occasions. Both times it's taken support days to resolve, meaning hundreds of emails haven't been sent, and leads have been marked as inactive and unsubscribed. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"{UPDATE} - Horrible Billing Practice A very powerful tool with a fair price tag..."
0/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

I like how powerful and fully featured ActiveCampaign is. There are a wide variety of ways we can communicate with customers and use automations and insights to reach them better. I like the UI and the email design tools. For me, as someone who likes "traditional" layouts with lots of options, this is a perfect tool. I have also been incredibly impressed by the support and onboarding teams. Any time I have had a question or needed to learn a feature, they have been there for me! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

After a year of use, we decided that we didn't use the advanced features enough to continue using the product, plus our deliverability rate dropped. We went to cancel, and instead of being able to just cancel, we had to set up a meeting with a human being. Due to lack of availability, this wasn't until after our "renewal" date. However, given past excellent customer service interactions, I thought this would not be a problem. No, they billed us, and despite promises to refund, have not. I do not want to speak to someone to cancel. I want to cancel. This is a continual frustration, and this horrible practice means that I can no longer recommend this product.

I haven't found anything that I dislike at this point - three months into using the product. There are drawbacks such as the price (which is fair, but higher than other solutions) and the learning curve to get into the product, but these come with the decision to buy a highly functional solution. "Woocommerce integration doesn't work and customer service doesn't respond"
0/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

I previously enjoyed the automations of ActiveCampaign, but without the Woocommerce integration functioning as advertised they are useless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

I found my open rates dropped when moving from mailchimp, so I don’t think the delivery rates are good. Again, the Woocommerce integration has not worked well ever, then completely stopped working at all - and I can't get any help from customer service. They said I have configured it correctly, and will escalate it. I follow up a week later and they say again they will escalate it. I follow up again weeks later and no response. This happened previously as well, with just a "whoops, we dropped the ball" kind of response after months. I feel stuck with the product because of the pain of switching products and I don't feel I have the time right now, plus I paid for a year in advance. If I could just get some help with this important issue, would be a good product. I would never recommend anyone sign up for this when you can't get any help with issues! "Most Frustrating Software Ever"
0/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

Does it send emails? Yes. Does it have live chat? Yes. Do they have a support team? Yes. Is any of it easy to use or helpful? Never. ActiveCampaign falls far behind similarly priced competitors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

The phrase I say more than any other when working with ActiveCampaign is "This should be easy." Unfortunately, that has yet to prove accurate. Over and over, I get strange quirks and operational choices that make simple things significantly more challenging than they should be. Want to update a contact field based on what the customer put in another field? Export it, perform that step in Excel then reimport that file. Want to send a test email to the same coworker you send every test to? Type their email into the field for the 57th time today. Want to set a default font for every block across your entire instance? No. And to top it all off, in just over a year, I have experienced major bugs (completed email that will not save no matter how many times I click save, entire sections of the platform simply not loading for multiple days) multiple times. And each one has been met with shrugs. Our shared IP was appearing on a few spam blocklists. We emailed support simply to request that they take any reasonable steps to remedy this. Weeks later, our shared IP is still on the same blocklists, but I did get a 5 paragraph lecture from a deliverability specialist about why being on a spam blocklist isn't a problem.

To add onto the problems, support frequently recommends you provide feature suggestions in their ideas forum. Almost every time I got this suggestion, I would visit the ideas forum only to find that multiple other users had submitted the exact same request years ago. A great example is the live chat support button. It blocks a portion of the interface on every single screen. In some places, this makes features unusable. I brought up the issue with support then go to make a suggestion on the ideas forum. I find multiple ideas reiterating my exact problem dating back at least three years. To date, the dev team has moved the button slightly which fixes the problem in certain cases, but does nothing to address the underlying problem: an unclosable, unmovable button blocking the interface! "Horrible Support, Poor Email Deliverability, Lacks Many Obvious Features"
0/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

Signing up was easy. ActiveCampaign sales team was hyperactive in getting us to sign up for the product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

EVERYTHING post signing up.

Support - Horrible, no response for 7 days straight even on Enterprise plan.

SPAM Email Servers - Lowest delivery rates ever seen with any marketing automation tool provider

Workflow Limitations - Very limited options, No ability to run batch updates

Reporting - Can't pull simple user reports even on Enterprise.

All in all, worst product ever. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"AC may request that you remove all contacts who haven't interacted with your campaigns in a year"
0/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

AC has great automation. I find that it is easy to set up for the most part. It also has a plethora of integrations with various platforms. Overall, it is a solid and powerful platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

They have this bizarre, hidden policy that you need to remove contacts who haven't interacted with your campaigns in a year. This is not something that they tell you or that you agree on when signing up. They may just pull it out of the hat at a whim. Yet, they have no reliable tool to see what customers fall into this category. They expect you to just blindly "clean up" your list. This is a deal killer and the reason why I chose NOT to go with AC for my company. No email provider should get to choose when you remove your contacts. That is solely between a business and its customers.

Further, at times they seem to be plagued with many tech issues which cause delays and troubles with API, sync, and email sending. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The worst CRM I've ever used"
0/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

I really don't like anything about it - it's clunky, reporting is awful, it is confusing to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

I think the most frustrating this is the reporting. It doesn't come with standard sales reports like Closed Won by Rep, per <period>.

Custom reporting is not intuitive and breaks often.

Overall, I would not ever recommend this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"zero customer support - platform has bugs doesnt work, waste of time."

What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

Right now the service is useless and a waste of time trying to reach or deal with support, it is currently a drag on our buisiness .. since we have to beg for a response. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

An account that we have had for 2 years (with 0 issues) will suddenly not send emails, making it useless. no proper response from support for either refund or to fix the bug. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Exasperating support with WooCommerce integration support and getting worse"
0/5
What do you like best about ActiveCampaign?

Has some good functionalities as no duplicated lists as other competitors do, also de automation. We have been using Active Campaign for more than 2 years. But the support is getting worse. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ActiveCampaign?

1st level support has a low standard and not useful protocol to gather evidence that only delays and makes things worse, that makes you invest an incredible not necessary amount of time. We see most of the times they don't read the tickets and ask for the information already explained. When the ticket pass to Tier support is literally unresponded for weeks or months or even not responded.

The process of integration data deep integration with the Active Campaign plugin fails a lot and the integration plugin is buggy on its last updates which makes it worse.

Finally, the Deep Data Integration plugin does not support currently multisite so it is not useful for many clients and does not recognize refunds, also a setback.

All of this makes the experience of woo-commerce data integration painful.

On one hand, the incapacity of support solving problems related to Deep Data Integration. We can give details with specific tickets if we were asked. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
