Ease of use and customer service, from first call to launch to follow ups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Only trouble I had was filtering out the email to go to non-clients, but when it sent it included them. Maybe I did it wrong but it looked like I had left out clients when I sent the campaign, yet it went to all of them which was frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love all the features around automation. It's flexible and allows me to do most of what we want to do. And the pricing for the mid-tier level that we use is competitive.
UPDATE 12/2024 - ActiveCampaign raised their prices. They did not handle the communication of this change well, and they seriously damaged my trust in them. Still a customer as I can't find a viable alternative. But I'm looking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's very difficult to see what's happening across the overall landscape of our implementation (this is not really unique to AC). We run a lot of automations, and unwinding them to figure out what's going when and how our subscribers are being affected is really difficult. I usually figure out after the fact.
Also, support is not always willing to admit when there is an issue that is caused by the product rather than by the user. Like with most SaaS companies, support is mostly there for beginners and doesn't have the background to support power users as much as I'd like.
The reporting is very limited unless we jump to a much higher price point. And the pipeline functionality is sub-optimal for corporate sales. But at least they have something. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I’ve been quoted an outrageous $15,000 just to unlock my account so it can resume sending emails. The new pricing plans are absolutely abysmal, prioritizing profit over customer experience. This is the second overcharge in a week—$3,000 earlier, and now this $15,000 bill. To make matters worse, their system claims my account sent 1.4 million emails (which it hasn’t—I've checked their reports), yet they still expect me to pay for it?
My account rep is nowhere to be found and claims he has no power to fix this. Live chat support is clueless and unable to help. I’ve submitted 16 tickets, and not a single one has been answered. No one from the company has reached out to resolve this. Meanwhile, we're receiving 40+ complaints daily from customers because our automated emails aren’t sending.
This is beyond unacceptable—it’s a complete breakdown of customer service and operational accountability. What a joke. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Long time customer, since 2014. Ive watched this company since about 2020, put profit over product. Active camapign was always product first, not sure where it changed but it was sometime around 2020. Increased fees for no usable features, you get less for more, its a shame. I'll be moving our 31 clients off active campaign this year and myself. Profit over product always loses Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pros:
• The level I needed to start (less than 1000) was not too expensive
• Scheduling/setting up emails is very easy
• Easy graphic design for emails
• Easy navigating of general tabs
• Contacts are easy to filter (tags, etc)
• General connectivity/integration (of information) of the app is great
• Good, uncomplicated form builder Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cons:
• Reports feature is confusing until you really learn it (It’s not easy for someone who doesn’t know how to navigate it fluently)
• Not beginner user-friendly with overall features (my admin has marketing experience, so the features were easier to use, but if she had not used other platforms, it wouldn’t have been as easy to navigate).
• We had an issue integrating Paypal recurring payments with the campaign and I'm not sure if it's solved yet (and honestly don't know if it's a Paypal issue instead). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that it integrates with so many other solutions. It's easy to go to Zapier and create zaps to integrate active campaign with our website, our landing, pages, Google Sheets, Trello, Slack, and many more solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike the pricing model. It almost feels like we are penalized for growing our database because the more people in there, the more expensive it gets. I also don't know that I feel that it's incredibly intuitive. I spend a lot of time learning how to do things by reading articles in the Support section. I'm usually able to figure it out, but I wish it was more intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love ActiveCampaign. We switched from a much more difficult and confusing software a couple months ago. It was not an easy migration because we had so many automations to move, but ActiveCampaign's customer support is top-notch. Almost every time I've needed them, they have blown me away with their responsiveness and willingness to get to the bottom of the problem. That, combined with the workshop, made our migration as smooth as it possibly could be.
I am very impressed with the capabilities of the software, too. It is SOOOOO much easier to use than our previous one, and I find myself looking forward to getting in there and seeing what's going on, instead of dreading it. Our sales team uses the CRM everyday, and is very happy with it, as well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The reporting isn't quite as robust as our previous system. We've managed to figure out some workarounds, but that's the only thing that doesn't make this software about as perfect as we could wish for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
This has so many pieces of the marketing/sales puzzle that I had been trying to figure out. It has given me peace of mind, more time in my day, and what seems like endless possibilities to improve on my current pipeline. I am just starting out and already know this is what I have been looking for. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I can't attach fillable forms or documents to my emails. This is REALLY BIG since I have a private practice that relies on forms and agreements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Active Campaign is really easy to navigate and set up newsletters and automations to send emails at a date and time you want. The dashboard lets you view your past campaigns, your contacts, recent activity, active automations and top contacts. I am really happy with it. I did look at other email automations but they didn't match up with Active Campaign. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is nothing that I am not happy about Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The deals feature is increibly intuative. We were able to roll AC out to our sales team who had stopped using any CRM 10 years prior. It was an easy trasition thanks to a beautiful interface, endless resources with the education center, and responsive customer support. ActiveCampaign is well suited to scale, too. It's small enough to be an easy on-ramp for a small company but can scale to any size. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I started on AC with a small company. I would have loved to get more included traning or personlized deals pipelines to help get the ball rolling. Integration was incredible easy, but I would have loved more help with getting started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've liked ActiveCampaign decently, as I've used it for about two to four years, now.
AC is notably good if you're doing something other than simple lead magnets to get people to join your email list. If you're looking to collect email addresses from several different forms, shopping carts, and such as that, it seems to do well. I didn't use it for much of that - I think I signed up for something that is above the level I needed. Lol.
The funnels and tags seem solid. I haven't built overly-fancy ones, but it's worked for me so far.
I also like the ability to embed links into buttons and photos as well as copy.
Formatting is very clean and easy to manage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've had an issue with AC deleting some of the copy I put into emails. This specifically happens when I duplicate an email and edit it. It'll sometimes get bumped back to the previous copy.
Personally, I've had a bit of an issue with the price, but that's likely because I'm not using all of the available aspects of AC. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a great platform for someone just starting in marketing. It allows automations to preschedule email campaigns which makes the process more efficient.
The account manager who initiates the setup process is a key element. They were extremely informative and helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like how many things must be manually changed like adding contacts to a segmented list. The limitations on creativity were quite frustrating. I would like to see more flexibility in the design function of the emails.
I had to disconnect and reintegrate the salesforce connection multiple times because it would frequently stop communicating with the platform.
We needed IT to log in to my account but my account could not be logged in from any computer or browser other than mine. I reached out to AC's support team and they could not comprehend what I was asking for assistance on. It was never corrected.
I would like for the reporting to have the capability of being printed or shared in some way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
