The system automates the work that usually falls to one person. Users are created, updated and removed automatically from Active Directory or Entra, courses are assigned by organisation and job function, and reminders, certificates and reports go out without anyone pressing a button. Some customer installations have run for years without intervention. Content made in Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise or Adobe Captivate runs through SCORM 1.2 and 2004, alongside off-the-shelf courses from third-party libraries. A single module can carry several language versions, and each user is shown the version matching their preferred language, so one course serves an international workforce without duplicate uploads. Seventeen interface languages are available, among them Danish, Greenlandic, Icelandic, Norwegian, Swedish, German, Polish, Chinese, Arabic and Finnish. The platform is multi-tenant. One installation can serve several companies, subsidiaries or customers, each with its own branding, which is how training providers use it to sell their own courses. An external SCORM feature lets a supplier deliver content that runs inside a customer's own LMS while remaining editable in Activate LMS. Hosting is on Microsoft Azure with the data centre in the Netherlands. Reports cover not started, in progress, completed, passed and failed, together with the answers given and time spent, which is what an audit asks for. Support for one administrator is included in the licence. A managed service is available, where ElearningSpecialist handles setup, uploads, mails, campaigns and reporting. Activate LMS is not built for schools, for live online teaching or for administering classroom courses.
