I am making a difference in my day-to-day, whether that entails contributing one-time or monthly. In the nonprofit space, I also like to use the platform to watch our fundraising efforts and produce quarterly reports based on ActBlue's metrics. **What do you dislike about ActBlue?** I don't particularly appreciate that other companies can get a hold of my information once I donate to their cause or candidate. It's a bit annoying and unexpected at first, but you either get used to it or can unsubscribe from their list. I also wish we could merge multiple accounts without first creating a customer support ticket. I hope to see that ActBlue makes a user-friendly, mobile application for their donors and clients to use one day (without hassle). **Recommendations to others considering ActBlue:** There should be an ActBlue app available on mobile devices in order for people to give on the go. **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** ActBlue makes it a more straightforward, streamlined process to donate and fundraise for political action committees, grassroots campaigns, other advocacy-related nonprofits, and social justice organizations. Rather than writing a check or donating via the website, I can do all that and more through this incredible, unique, and cute platform. ### 2. Integration with NGP VAN makes collecting donor information easy. It is a reliable and well-trusted platform that is recognizable to donors. The day-to-day operations are smooth and I find it easy to collect the information I need. **What do you dislike about ActBlue?** I wish there was an option to add more than one custom question to a contribution form. This would be helpful for gift promotions, event, etc. **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** My organization implemented ActBlue before I started so I cannot speak to our situation before using. But nowadays, ActBlue is considered the "golden standard" of donation processing platforms. Donors recognize it and know it by name. It solves the question of how to accept donations online, which is a major portion of our income. ### 3. I appreciate that you can make a single donation or set up a recurring donation. Having one ActBlue profile makes the process smoother. It's also very easy to set up. **What do you dislike about ActBlue?** It can be difficult whenever you have contributed to one campaign and then your email gets distributed to everyone across ActBlue. So I get messages and emails and text messages that I didn't necessarily sign up for. **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use ActBlue for making political donations and engaging in campaign work, utilizing my ActBlue profile to manage contributions seamlessly. ### 4. In addition, donors must log into their accounts to get a record of their yearly contributions, or I have to do that manually for my organization's donors. **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** ActBlue helps my organization with a donor platform that is safe and secure while charging just a minimal fee of 3.9%. Donations come to those who make it easy, and ActBlue does just that! ### 5. Easy to get around and find what you need. Changes and across-the-board updates are made clear. Up to the second updates are also very helpful and key. The testing page is very intuitive, and I like that you can run all kinds of tests, from the copy to the smart boost. Automatic traffic allocation is also great! It is also nice to constantly see the flow of money coming in on the main page, as well as the top-performing slugs from a certain day. That way, I can check up on my most recent emails at a glance. **What do you dislike about ActBlue?** When searching for a page on the contribution forms, you can't hit enter to search. Small but can be annoying. Additionally, donation asks and the spacing throughout get tweaked or messed up when saving/publishing/checking the page. The title part of a page could also be easier to edit and change individually without changing the entire styling of the background. It would also be great to have a page to view all active tests instead of having to go to each page and check the results of a test that way. **Recommendations to others considering ActBlue:** ActBlue is a highly user-friendly and accessible platform. I highly recommend it. The learning curve for getting used to it is not very large, and multiple people will be able to master it fairly quickly. **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** ActBlue is the quickest and easiest way to try multiple donation pages. The testing aspect is a major benefit. It's easy to update and transition pages from quarter to quarter while also optimizing our results. Another benefit is toggling through all of the accounts I have access to, rather than having to log out or go to a completely different page to edit another client. This makes editing and updating for others even easier. ### 7. The organization of things and the naming conventions don't make sense and the CSS classes are not descriptive and hard to override. I'd like to be able to customize things further. I understand wanting to make it easier for people not proficient in CSS and HTML to style their pages but they've made the product less robust and harder to use in many ways. I also wish they had a better way to view ongoing tests. There should be a dashboard to view all active tests instead of having to click through multiple pages **Recommendations to others considering ActBlue:** ActBlue is the gold standard for Democratic fundraising. Yes there is room for improvement, but their product is solid and their customer support is great. Don't be afraid to contact them for help! **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** Actblue gives us a central, trusted system to raise money. It's name recognition is solid so donors know they can trust it to donate money to. ### 8. It's aesthetically pleasing while also being good at displaying the data that campaigns and groups need to see for analytics. **What do you dislike about ActBlue?** I honestly can't speak to anything that I disliked about Act Blue. It's great, and I haven't used other fundraising software, so I can't speak to additional features they may have that ActBlue doesn't. **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** With ActBlue, we're can easily figure out what content is performing well for our clients and what content isn't doing as well as we hoped it would. A benefit we realized is that ActBlue is up to date with fundraising so, throughout the day, we can see what content is popping off. ### 9. Anytime I need to send them an email, even if it's the dumbest question, they respond in under an hour and with all the information that I could need. Their website is easy to use and very streamlined. I really appreciate the product and it makes my job very easy indeed. Can't recommend them highly enough! **What do you dislike about ActBlue?** Not too much. Sometimes when I'm trying to find a specific donation, I think it would be helpful to have a more flexible "Search Contributions". For example, when someone only includes one last name when reaching out to us, it can be hard to find them if they signed up on ActBlue with two last names. Other than that, it's great! **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** We receive all of our donations and store orders through ActBlue and it has really streamlined the entire process and made it much easier to sort everything. It helps me process any conversation I'm having with users to know exactly when, how much, and how to refund a donation if necessary. ### 11. I particularly found it helpful for quickly creating landing pages/forms when we needed to turn around content quickly. They are also very good at developing content that is mobile-friendly, which greatly increases conversion rates. They also provide A/B tools which are great for testing emails. **What do you dislike about ActBlue?** There were a few times when ActBlue customer service/communication could have been better over the years, particularly when the service was down or donors had trouble with their contributions (and I'd need ActBlue to clear up the confusion). I do believe that the organizations has been doing a better job of improving support communication (and pledging to resolve problems on their end) over the years. **Recommendations to others considering ActBlue:** ActBlue is the standard to use in my industry. Thankfully, they aren't asleep at the wheel. ActBlue is always improving their tools to lead the way in fundraising, and I appreciate that - over the years - they have been responding to feedback from their clients. **What problems is ActBlue solving and how is that benefiting you?** ActBlue has always been helpful for meeting fundraising goals, particularly via increasing conversation rates with new lists and appealing for small-dollar donations. ### 12.
