It's one of those apps that people don't think can be as complete as the most used worldwide, but it really has much more things than those. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** They don't as social presence as other brands, neither has ambassadors as that creating good content, advicing users. They do have tutorials on the site on how to use their tools, but probably with famous photographers they willl get better content. **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** Give it a try, seriously. It's one of those apps that exists since long time ago, and that lost market some years ago; but now the app has more tools than most software apps out there, and they are including awesome new things every version. My fav, Pixel Target. and magic brush, there isn't anything out there as powerful and that helps deploy great shots. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** The app help me review/edit my shots without needing to "import" as ACDSee uses the structure you already have, and the edit tools are fast, not as most apps on the market that takes lot of time to process. It also helps me organizing my shots and being able to search them faster ### 2. Once tried you never chnage to something else. I've used this product for many years and they become from my favorite during these years. I still use other products, but always get back to ACDSee. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use the product for all type of editing, prioriizing and sorting my collections. ### 3. Many competitive tools only perform on high-end configurations. ACDSee shines on modern laptops without discreet GPU which is the majority of laptops. Other, more high-end, photo editors need GPU to offer decent speed. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** Not much to complain about. I prefer to have lightweight features and speed rather than fancy tools and slow performance. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I can manage my very big photo library easily. I love being able to batch edit, batch rename, etc. I also like that the program uses less resources and opens quickly. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** I don't use the editing much other than adjusting the exposure (prefer Photoshop for major editing tasks). I imagine the issue has more to do with what I'm use to than the anything else. Seems like I need to do a lot of clicking to apply and save the edits. Reasonably priced with an incredible array of tools and features. Although the learning curve for 'Ultimate' is a bit long, the rewards have been well worth the time and effort. I have been using an ACDSee product since 2003 and could not find a more complete solution. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** The pricing models. The company changed last year and no offers the 5 user Pak that I had been purchasing for many years. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** ACDsee has saved me many man hours of frustration by allowng me to catalog and manage over 12,000 pieces of art. I find this program easier to use than other photo editing software. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** Sometimes the options are buried, but a quick search fixes that! **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** We're able to edit some of our photos that we've taken out in the field and use them in our reports. The benefits have been as simple as reducing the file size of a photo to editing the color, size, and look of the entire photo. Sometimes the engineers even add their own notes to the photos to point out what it is people are actually seeing in the photos as well. ### 8. Even on a fast computer, this is really time consuming - especially if, like me, you shoot a lot of high-resolution uncompressed RAW images! While ACDSee has excellent database tools it stores your images in ordinary folders - and it's lightning fast, compared to the alternatives. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** I sometimes find that ACDSee fails to create a thumbnail preview of a large TIF or PSD file. This is especially annoying when Windows is able to produce a thumbnail - so a fix for this issue would be very welcome. **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** Just download a trial. I like that I can keep photos in folders the way I want to and simply navigate to them, unlike some programs that force their overview on me. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** I have trouble with loading large photos from our large database. Once it is loaded it is fine. Our database has has a few thousand cases; each case may have 100 to 4000 photos. Need to ask tech support on this. **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** Learn about cataloging. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** We work on legal cases with PFDs and JPG files so navigating to documents is easy with this one tool. Image enhancing is easy. I really like printing with meta data on the headers with 4x4 photos per sheet. Also opens photoshop files and RAW. ### 11. I found ACDSee to very similar and in some ways more user-friendly. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** Of course, there are quirks with every software. The main quirk with ACDSee is that using the Light EQ function often changes the colors, so I need to then use the color EQ function. I like these functions in ACDSee but they have their quirks. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use the program primarily for personal photo editing, but I am an architect and use photography for conducting assessments of facilities and for marketing purposes. It helps me with the organization of files and for creating professional marketing images ### 12. The 4's are one I delete, the 1's are the best shots, 2,3 need work. I then use colors to further parse the selected shots, based on plays or action. I can fly through hundreds of photos this way. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** Face Recognition, (Tagging) it is missing a lot of features, like being able to tell it that it is tagging some one wrong, bulk correction, and basically face management **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** There are so many tine saving features in this product I am sure at least one will pay for itself. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am using it to organize 15 years of travel, and sports photos I have taken. The sports ones I use a lot of Tags to help me find things, Teams, Location Event, plays, players. Date etc. ### 13. Light EQBatch operations are also great time savers. Some of my folders have thousands of images and the ability to bring up all the thumbnails instantaneously is great help. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** The perspective correction tool is very hard to use and inexact. The need to turn on the grid each time is most annoying. Dragging the corners when none of the lines fall on the grid is clumsy. The rotating tool can be made easier with larger buttons for 90 and 180 degree rotations. Assign a letter shortcut for batch file rename. **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** You will not find an easier workflow for processing images and fixing them up **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use a lot of scanned images that always need some simple fixing such as cropping, perspective correction, and exposure. I also scan many slides and than need to work on them. This often require more delicate editing using tools such as dehaze and color EQ ### 14. I'm a bit of a pack rat so have images dating back to about 1960. Without a product like ACDSee my "collection" would be almost useless. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** The search feature is quite powerful, but not altogether intuitive. I can find things using Quick Search that I can't find by building a search, which I could then save. I'm not sure I am correct about this, but a few built-in searches might be useful - say" find rotated images". I created such a search but first I had to learn all about EXIF rotation flags, something I really didn't need to know. **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** Select the product that fits your needs, if you do not want edit images, limit yourself to the product that provides mainly organization. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am organizing the family photo albums, partly through directory structure, and partly through embedding other information in the EXIF Image Description field. Takes some time, but feel it will be worth it in the end. ### 15. It is simple, yet powerful and continues to grow in functionality. I have rarely found bugs in the software which in itself deserves a lot of kudos. I highly recommended it. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** I save many catalogs in PDF format, which works great, however when I want to edit, add or delete, I have to use a secondary program to accomplish the task. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I use it to catalog all my paper scans and feed it to my archive. My primary use has always been to manage, organize and categorize my photo library. I like: - rating and color labels, tagging options, - vast posibility of sorting photos (by day taken, month taken, by rating, by lebel, smart sorting, etc.), -oraganize by categories, keywords etc. Of course I like batch Develop and Edit mode. The best part is LightEQ and Dehaze. White balance optionsis good too. When I select few photos in Manage mode and go to Develop or Edit I see only selected photos - it is very usefull and I like this behavior. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** ACDSee needs some improvements: 1. In 'Manage' mode: - search in current folder or in current display photos (by keywords, catalog, name etc.), - better searching function (for example: search by rating and keywords and date - conditional searching) - integration with Keywords from IPTC Metadata (for example I'm tagging photos on may and it is usless because ACDSee can't import this keywords to my database), - option to select color of labels for image type (JPG, PSD, TIFF, etc.), because now colors are so simillar and I making mistakes when am I selecting specific type of photos. In earlier version of ACDSee it were better label's colors (yellow, blue...), - manage mode it should be more faster, the speed is not the strong point of ACDSee (I have 6 core Intell CPU and 64GB RAM, so ACDSee should to operating very fast but it's not), - it would be nice if ACDSee could display correct photos in CMYK. 2. In 'Develop' and 'Edit" mode: - it should be more configurable keyboard shortcuts, - it should be shortcut for 'previous photo' nad 'next photo', so when am I make corrections on photo, I want to click a button and go to next photo (now I must use mouse to select next photo), - I want to use mouse scroll to zoom photo, - I want to make favourites correctoin tools and select specific tool by shortcut (it should be nice to have option for edit this shortucut), - - I want LightEQ - auto mode in batch process.. 3. Export and import all settings. The most important feature. It is very annoying when I must setup all things every new version and this is reason I'm not changing ACDSee every major version. **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** If You are looking for software to organize vast of photos with many options of organizing and You want to quickly correct bunch of photos You should try the ACDSee. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** Correcting lighting on thousand of photos per month and managing of millions of photos. Sometimes ACDSee cannot handle this vast of photos. ### 18. I tried many similar types of software, but Acdsee had a nice mix of organization as well as "develop" tools. With Ultimate it also adds layers and raster editing, which is nice but I don't use as much as the RAW development tools. Overall, I really do like the software and it does most of what I need with developing and adjusting my photos. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** My computer isn't exactly slow (i7 6700, 32gb ram, SSD drives, Nvidia GTX 1060), but this software does have some slowdown and such. It depends on what tool or feature is being used. I hope they optimize the organizer/thumbnail and develop tab aspects. Another issue is slow support for RAW formats. I'm still waiting on Canon CR3 (M50) RAW support. I have to convert those RAWs to DNG so I can edit them with Acdsee. **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** If you want a solution that's covers most uses, check it out. Just make sure it currently supports your camera's RAW format. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** It handles the vast majority of my photo organization, selection (I love their labeling tools), and developing of RAW files. I do occasionally use the raster editing features but I prefer their nondestructive tools. ### 19. It supports many image formats including Raw formats of my Panasonic camera. I like that their adding Photo enhancer/editor. The batch editor has come in real handy also! **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** I like many of the new features their adding, but at the same time it seems like the program is beginning to take longer to load. That was one of the biggest things I liked in the early versions of the ACDsee viewer. Hopefully they can improve upon this, at least for the viewer. I understand the editor may take longer to load. **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** If you sort your photos by folders and just want a photo viewer to see your photos, then I would recommend ACDsee. It also comes with other perks, like a photo editor. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I still like sorting my photos by folders instead of letting a program manage it and I think that's ACDsee's strongest feature and why I stay away from Lightroom. ### 20. It's fast. And you can apply edits and changes in batches. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I immediately view all my photos from a shoot and delete bad ones, move "rejects" to a subfolder, and keep the best. Then I apply edits to my favorites, resize them and share. I right click on an image in the manage pane and edit it with my other image editors when needed. ### 24. To solve this, I have deactivated face recognition (that does not work so well - many new people in photos are recognized as people already present in older photos). **Recommendations to others considering ACDSee:** A good all-in-one solution for all your needs in photo management and editing, with a good quality-to-price ratio. **What problems is ACDSee solving and how is that benefiting you?** I'm saving time in organizing my photos collection, by using developing and editing feature and batch operations. ### 25. I've used it for over 15 years maybe a lot longer and endured some of the changes that once re-learnt have proved to be a very productive tool. **What do you dislike about ACDSee?** Support seems very disappointing. I've had to uninstall ACDsee on this machine and use alternative software. Somewhere along the way I cannot launch Ultimate 10 or new Ultimate 2019 and received very light weight help so far . Very hard organisation to get to a real tech and use Teamviewer. Its a compatiblity issue with windows upgrade I'm sure and probably needs a tech. But support isnt ACDSee strong point .
