You get a ton of support while switching over, and you master the system very quickly. The reporting is exceptionally easy and accurate. The customer support is heads and tails above the last LMS we used. You get an answer from your service rep so quickly that you are often able to figure everything out the same day. They also actively improve the platform based on feedback instead of asking for it then ignoring it. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** I would like a few more options on mass imports of users. Specifically being able to change the supervisor of everyone at once. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We switched to Absorb due to a complete lack of customer support and rising costs from our old LMS. Little did we know that this would be a massive upgrade in all areas of our training. The ease of use and options are night and day compared to our old platform. However, from our very first interaction with Absorb to the recent successful launch of our LMS, the entire experience was easy and enjoyable. The entire Absorb team (sales, project coordinator, implementation specialist, help desk, etc) consistently showed a high level of professionalism, accessibility, and willingness to assist. Their implementation process, including weekly training sessions, made the transition smooth and easy. Absorb’s incredible features and endless customization options have really enhanced our organization's ability to create training content (we just using PowerPoint prior to this), generate reports (was exclusively Excel prior to the LMS), manage assignments, and oversee system administration functions. We are beyond happy with our choice of Absorb and are eager to recommend this LMS to others. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** As a small, grant-funded organization, the cost initially presented a significant challenge. However, after thoroughly exploring the functionality and benefits the LMS could bring to our training department, the decision became clear. Absorb greatly outranked the other LMS companies we met with. While the price is higher compared to other systems we looked at, the value it delivers more than justifies the investment. One of the primary challenges we face is the lack of learning libraries that align with both our needs and budget, which has required us to develop all training content from scratch. Previously, each individual employee had their trainings tracked on their own Excel spreadsheet and there was a lack of consistency. This makes quality and compliance reviews so much easier. Within the complexities of our business needs, the system allows you to navigate simple solutions. There aren't complicated and onerous processes to follow and it's really easy to pick up even for non-techy person like me! It's clear that a lot of thought has gone into its design and they are really keen to get the ideas of their customers for anything they haven't though of (which isn't much!) The service we were also provided by our Implementation Manager, Luke Valentine, was second to none. I love the fact the content creation can be really basic and simple or super in depth, depending on what the course requires. Its nice to see a platform that works well externally to colleagues but also from an admin point of view, it's nice and user friendly. Integration was simple and made easier by great support from Luke Valentine (our implementation support manager), he consistently checks in and ensures we're happy with each step of the learning platform & creation. We've had a dedicated implementation team (Adam and Mark) who have trained and supported us through the roll out and they have been experts who are very knowledgable and keen to share all of the great activites this LMS can carry out intuitatively rather than manually, leaving me and my team more time to get on with valued added tasks. Currently, there is not a way to create a report of past due employees and include the manager's email address to make communication easier. The manager name has been added, but no way to do a mail list yet. I would also like to see more mass options for updating courses as well as additional import abilities. That includes the ablility for me to customize the user interface in a manner that makes sense for the flow and focus of learning within our organization. I also find that the user interface from a learner perspesctive is intuitive and with little instruction a new user can be taking a course within minutes of logging in for the first time. Report look and feel through out are standard but each can be customized to display the information that is relevant to you. They are a standard table of information, but I have found that these are easy to read and understand once you learn what information is captured. There are many different types of reports out of the box so that makes is incredbily useful. Also each person accessing reports can customize and save reports relevant to their needs (e.g. dept). I like that you can create custom roles for various admins so that what they can access is determined by the roles. I also am thankful for the interaction Absorb has with clients in their community forum. They are constantly reviewing feedback and updating the overall system regularly to keep it current and modern. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** There are a few quirks still that i'm not keen about, but with any LMS you learn was to navigate around then. There is an administrative dashboard that is customizable and extremely helpful, but I do wish that it had more options/graphs that could be integrated there for quick glances at reports in a graphical format. I think there are some options of useability that make it a challenge to see grey areas on white, so even though there have been huge improvements to the UI I think there could still be some improvements. Some of the filtering for reports is a bit challenging, but I have seen them working on improving this as well. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We need a system that all users can easily access and complete elective and mandatory training. We were assigned a very knowledgeable implementation project manager from the beginning and they helped us through the entire set-up and implementation. There was a function we needed that wasn't inherently available through Absorb, but our pm was able to create a workaround that saved us! They were very knowledgeable and did not hand us off to a new project manager until we had a firm understanding of the program and felt comfortable. Each of our dedicated support individuals live in our same timezone, so we receive help and answers to our questions very quickly. The 24/7 support ticket requests receive responses quickly as well. We have seen that update requests from customers are heavily considered and implemented within a decent amout of time. The integration was smooth with multiple of our complicated/clunky systems. The open API functionality has been crucial for our team. We were just able to integrate with Zoom which makes setting up virtual ILCs very simple. External user access is easy to set-up and is intuitive for learners. Absorb's UI has a very modern look and feel, and we have complete flexibility to use our own branding and design. Creating the learner dashboards was simple unlike many other competitors. We can rename almost anything to match our own terminology with the translations feature for both the UI and on the back end adminstrative portion. Absorb is intuitive for learners to use and we receive little to no questions as to how to navigate it. This was one of the main reasons we chose Absorb instead of other vendors. For the most part the functionality for both ILC sessions and e-learning delivery is very good. Some companies cater more to one than the other, but Absorb does a great job of ensuring functionality for both. The course curriculums have great functionality. We are able to pace progress the order in which learners take both ILC and e-learning courses, and can allow for multiple options to complete a course. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** Basic reporting tools are not sufficient for pulling reports for multiple courses/course modalities at the same time. You'll need to purchase the Analyze product to provide more accurate reporting. Marking absences for Instructor-led courses presents problems for future completion of the course. If a learner misses a session and we mark them as absent, then enrolls in another session and we mark them as having attended, absorb does not mark the course as complete for the learner. The course remains in progress if there is an absent and even another complete status enrollment for it. This requires us a bit of extra work to manually mark a learner complete when we want to keep the absent marker to show that someone enrolled but didn't attend. Also for ILCs if you want to create recurring sessions within a course (i.e., module 1,2,3), they can only be scheduled on the same day of the week at the same time for the recurrences. If you need to reschedule or cancel one of the sessions it is difficult to do so and we have to do that outside the LMS. The calendar for our learners doesn't have the functionality that we would like. There are some limitations with giving custom admin access. There are some SME's that we'd like to only have access to info./data specific to their department/area but in order to give them access they'd be able to see the info. for all departments which is not ideal. When you unenroll users from a course that data gets deleted from the user's transcript. You can see when users get enrolled/unenrolled from courses as an admin from the user's "activity feed", but there are times that it would be nice to see if a user was unenrolled from a class on the transcript. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Absorb just barely fixed the Allow for "Department 'Is Not'" Enrollment Rule. This was very frustrating to us initially as we had some very intense compliance rules set for certain learners. Excluding certain groups required many extra hours for us.
