I recently had two new team members join our team, and they have been able to jump in easily. The Absorb Academy is amazing and a great way for new team members to use the system. The ease of use means they didn't require much training to begin using Absorb. Our Client Success Manager, Jason, has been exceptional to work with! Moreover, Absorb presented as user-friendly and capable of supporting both internal employees and external agents. The initial setup of Absorb LMS was very easy, and the team that walked us through the process was very supportive and helpful. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** I wish we could see the calendar responses when we automatically enroll someone in an ILC session. That would be helpful for tracking and even for courses that had a limit on attendance. I would love an AI overlay on the Absorb Analyze to help build the dashboards. From the learners' feedback, we've seen that they found the platform to be pretty straightforward, clean, and neat. They know exactly where to go and what to find, which makes it user-friendly. Additionally, the inclusion of quizzes and other gamification functionalities, along with the offering of credits, makes the platform interesting for customers, encouraging them to return for more courses. The straightforward setup process, except for some specific compliance and privacy policies, also stood out for me. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** One thing that has been challenging is the integration with Veeva PromoMats. We store all our technical information in a Veeva Vault, and each course content has to be approved there before being transferred to Absorb. Unfortunately, the integration hasn't worked so far, creating a lot of manual effort for admins to download approved material from one platform and upload it to the other. Also, the number of available custom fields, which is 25, 35, or 45, isn't sufficient for us moving forward. Our managers, admins and employees love all the unique features and platforms. If I had to say anything about dislikes, I would say the Reviewers abilities. We did have an issue where our Leadership team was not able to review created trainings because they did not hold "Create Licenses" and our login is set up through SSO. So, they do not have individual login credentials. It makes it really hard to get these trainings up and running if we are having to create new logins for leadership and have them remember another password. Another reason we've enjoyed working with Absorb is the support from our Client Success Managers, Brittney and later Anup. As first time LMS users, their guidance has been incredibly helpful. They have consistently offered practical suggestions to improve our process. Even outside of our scheduled meetings, they've been quick to respond to our questions via email whenever we hit a bump. Their support was especially evident when we integrated one of our internal apps to streamline our process. We were given training and a space to ask questions beforehand, which made the integration smooth and straightforward. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** I was hoping for more features that could make an instructor's job easier, particularly around grading and assessment management. For example. assessments need to be reviewed individually, which can be time consuming. A bulk review or grading opting would be a great addition, as well as a more flexiblilty in grading overall. Also, while we haven't subscribed to the Analyze or Engage add-ons, it would have been helpful to have access to some basic engagement tools or data insights by default. My curriculum is heavily scientific so I already knew going in that it wouldn't quite have the right level of detail and I wouldn't expect it to. For that reason I have been using the Create tool which works wonderfully. The software has allowed us to go from potentially having to outsource to me being able to build it myself. The course builder is robust and the timings mean animations are quite easy to create in the site itself without having to use any software (although I have also used Canva to create some graphics). I don't have a background in LMS content delivery, and this is my first time creating learning modules, so that should tell you how easy it is to use. The course and user management are done in a way that we can manage our education and users how we want to, and the customisation on home pages means they will get a professional experience. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** The one thing that is missing for me in Create is the ability to use super- and sub-script text. Being scientific content, there is a LOT of this in my curriculum and I have to create separate text boxes each time, line it up and leave space in the main text. This is not difficult, but it is time consuming compared to being able to toggle superscript for a letter or two every now and then. This was also one of my suggestions to Canva and they implemented it, so I'm hoping that can be done here! **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** We wanted to create a course for customers to give them some added value when partnering with us, and fill a big need in their workplace as we are providing education that is missed between university and trained professional level. ### 14. Previous LMS hosts I’ve used were a hassle and took a long time to learn how to use. Most other LMS products are so complex, they required a separate role to be Learning tech support so that I could get help with my tasks as a Learning Designer. I love that the user-friendliness of Absorb allows me to poke around and find my own solutions easily. It’s very intuitive, so I find it easy to navigate. But I also find the search bar and suggested tags to be very clever- they seem to know exactly what I need based off my previous interactions. Absorb’s LMS makes me feel empowered. Before, I had to schedule time weekly or monthly with another person to get a simple report or upload a SCORM to the LMS. Now, I can assign courses, pull reports, and upload content in a second without anyone’s assistance. That makes me feel like a useful member of Talent Development and I feel confident that I can save my company money by taking on the tasks that would normally be allocated to a separate job role. I cannot say how much I appreciate Absorb Create as an add-on to the LMS. It is seamlessly connected for easy upload and updates but it is also an incredibly simply but powerful authoring tool. Create can produce similar content to that of Articulate Storyline without the oldschool layout or hours upon hours of training. I think it’s an amazing tool for beginner Learning Designers as well as experienced ones who want to pull off projects quickly and with ease. Above all, the constant support and attention of our Account Manager (Kayla C) and Client Success Manager (Olga M.) is what makes Absorb so great to partner with. They always respond quickly and keep up a regular cadence to check in on functions and things we want to achieve. They never shy away from complicated programs and are always eager to find a way to make Absorb work for us. They are a huge reason why I think this program is such a good fit for our company and team. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** Any issues I've had before stemmed from a lack of knowledge about the system and were quickly resolved through a conversation with my Client Success Manager. There could be solutions in the making, but I do wish the Time to Complete on external courses could be tracked accurately or that Absorb Create would enact a "triggers" function similar to Articulate Storyline. While they aren't available now, there are workarounds so it's not difficult to achieve my vision in these areas. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Absorb is helping us standardize our training from annual compliance to safety courses and more. With it all available in one place, we can then properly assign and report on completions which is a huge deal for remaining compliant and ensuring we are reaching our audience. There is so much that you can do with this platform - from the reporting and analytics, to the course creation tool, the engagement toolset and the design. It really is a very powerful platform that perfectly meets our needs and never fails to impress. As someone who has never managed an LMS before, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is user-friendly and intuitive from both an admin and learner perspective. Whenever we give tours of our platform to partners or prospective partners, they are always blown away by the look and feel and the ease at which it can be managed. It is definitely helping us to win business and achieve company goals. Don't get me wrong - there's a lot going on with this platform and sometimes the answers to issues or questions aren't super obvious, but I find that it's a matter of just understanding how everything is working together to be able to troubleshoot. And thankfully, our client success manager, Greg Law, has been an excellent resource to helping us solve any questions that come up and learn how to effectively manage the platform as we move along. -- I'm coming back to add to this review months later and can still say that the above rings true - this is an extremely powerful platform that has only gotten easier to manage as time goes on and as I learn more about how everything is working. The support that our client success manager, Greg, has given throughout my experience has been invaluable and it's because of the work he has put in to our account that I feel as positively as I do. At so many different turns, he has been there to provide answers, troubleshoot and help me to think about the business long-term. I'm extremely grateful for his expertise and patience on a daily basis. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** There isn't a lot that I dislike about Absorb. We did not have a great experience with our implementation PM but everyone else that we interacted with was super knowledgeable, responsive and patient with us and our millions of questions while we worked to understand whether it was the right solution for us, and from there, how to manage it. I will say that there have been some silly limitations to managing the platform. One of the issues we found early on was that the courses provided by Absorb in the Max content library did not automatically have languages designated to them, and in order for them to be searchable by language, you have to manually input this information. This is an issue if you're dealing with over 20,000 courses. We did eventually have the team at Absorb populate those languages for us, but it was tricky and outside of the team's usual work. I hope this is something they can solve in the future since it doesn't seem like something you should have to ask for! However, there was another issue that we had which had to do with being able to perform mass updates to the course library. For example, we wanted to be able to change the category of a large amount of courses at once. Unfortunately, you were required to make updates to the courses one-by-one. But soon after our implementation was finished, Absorb released an update allowing mass updates on multiple areas within the LMS. So, a pretty good end to an annoying functionality issue! -- I've had additional issues which all have to do with the need to perform mass edits. Recently, we have decided to whittle down our course offerings. Currently, we have over 20,000 courses available to learners. We need to remove all foreign language and other courses which are not relevant to our users and will hope to end with something more like 2,000 courses available. Unfortunately, there is no way to make mass deletions. So each day, I am spending much of my time manually deleting courses one by one which is not only a headache but a waste of my time. I am also performing mass edits to the availability rules attached to every course that is available and unfortunately, there is no option to select all and change things. As a warning to future admins: be very cautious when converting courses to be live on your LMS. It was not communicated to me by the Implementation PM when I was originally converting courses that I should set the department availability rule to "Include all Subdepartments" rather than "is Only," and I stupidly didn't think to do so. So, once we started building subdeparments for our partners, I discovered that none of the 20,000 courses I had originally manually converted were available to users assigned to subdepartments. This means that I now have to re-access all 20,000 courses and make these changes (which is a big reason for the mass deletions I previously described!) and delay work with partners because of this. The good news is that once completed, I should not have to worry about this again unless converting new content. However, it is a really poor use of my time day to day and I wish I knew this before all the work I already put in. We had very little control over the platform, our content or the speed at which anything was accomplished. We were also stuck paying insane prices any time we wanted to make updates or add new courses. All of those issues together really held us back from achieving anything with our previous platform. We opted for Absorb because we needed to see a major change, and it has been one of the best decisions we made! I also wish reporting would be more customizable. I do really like that you can publish content directly from Absorb Create into the LMS- it's super fast. The 'impersonate' icon is adorable and intuitive. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** Absorb Create is very limited. I had high hopes at first, but it's basically PowerPoint. Unlike Articulate Rise 360, it doesn't allow you to easily drop in interactions without complicated developing time. The way Articulate Rise has easy out-of-the-box interactions (clickable graphic, tabs, etc.) Absorb Create does NOT. They do have 'knowledge tips' you can click on to learn more details, but for some reason, they don't have a 'visited' state - so nobody knows which ones they've already looked at. The 'create with AI' tool doesn't yield usable results. The review process drives me (and all my stakeholders) crazy - you have to first designate each individual reviewer with Admin status in the LMS, THEN add them as reviewers in Create for your module. Then you have to hope and pray that Create auto-sends them an email with their unique review link. This is extremely annoying for many reasons - 1) nobody can see what the other reviewers wrote 2) there isn't a universal link I can share in a single-source-of-truth space (i.e. Slack or Confluence) that points people to review. This means I spend a ton of time individually troubleshooting with reviewers to find these isolated emails that they may or may not have received. Absorb Create also has a lot of bugs - for example, many of the standard authoring tools (i.e. Text Box creation) don't work properly unless you refresh the page constantly. Absorb is easy for users to navigate and is intuitive to the user. The Create function in combination with buying the Amplify content has given us the opportunity to train, develop, and engage multiple roles in our organization. We have an HCM integration with ADP and the automatic and quick flow of information regarding status and job titles has taken care of a lot of what was previously manual work. The reporting functions are also better than previous system, and everyone from admins to managers like having that information. I also love the addition of the AI tool in Create. It does allow a quicker turnaround on some trainings I have made for our users. I have also receieved feedback that the AI voiceover feature really enhances our trainings that are heavily information slides. We also have Client Success Manager, Stephanie Berry, who has assisted us since going live with Absorb and has done an excellent job. She is very timely in being responsive and available and will either provide an answer or direct us to the correct place to go. **What do you dislike about Absorb LMS?** There are some limitations to reporting specific to our organization. I would also like the HCM integration to continue to improve overtime to sync other pieces of information, such as Reviewer roles. **What problems is Absorb LMS solving and how is that benefiting you?** Absorb allows us to reach multiple roles within the organization.
