Very easy to find the material and the material is actually helpful with very easy-to-follow steps including some pictures for reference. The onboarding process was great, you have someone who is an expert on Absolute and they help you set up your environment and walk you through the most common use cases and pieces that Absolute can offer you. The actual product itself, I've never found anything that comes close to this product. My absolute favorite features are freezing/unfreezing devices, wiping the OS remotely on a known stolen device, and the ease of reporting a device stolen plus the fact that a special investigation team helps in finding that stolen asset. The number of reports available on your Absolute assets and how easy it is to tweak those reports to match the exact data/metrics you are looking for based on certain criteria. For example, all devices that have a certain type of software that is installed and when was the last time it was used **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** There is so much you can do with Absolute, it sometimes can be a little overwhelming when you are first starting to build out your environment on your own after the onboarding process **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Gives our IT group/company piece of mind that if a device gets stolen or goes missing we can either free or wipe it remotely. We have been relying on the exceptional capabilities of Absolute Secure Endpoint since day one , and one of its standout features is the impressively persistent agent embedded in the BIOS. This unique agent sets it apart from other software solutions, as it is not removable even through reinstallation – offering us control over our assets and the software installed on them. Moreover, in addition to the persistence and availability of APIs within the product, our collaboration with Absolute has allowed us to develop our own suite of tools. These tools, a combination of our own internal creations and joint efforts with Absolute, have significantly enhanced the effectiveness of Absolute Secure Endpoint within our specific business environment. Provides very detailed information regarding what applications are executed/installed on a system if you have the additional licensing tier for additional security features and reports **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** The only negative I can think of is the deployment documentation using your preferred MDM solution is abysmal. Zero documentation on how to deploy using Intune, Jamf or any other industry standard MDM solutions. We have been on our own, and Intune deployment was a breeze, but we have had more than our fair share of issues deploying this to our MacOS fleet via JAMF. We still do not currently have a solution, and we have not had any meaningful interactions with support, other than 'we do not support with MDM deployment'. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed the ability to lock down workstations remotely, and securely. Other products were able to log users out, but not keep them logged out. This was due to our fleet being Azure AD joined instead of on prem domain joined; not many solutions support AAD and lock out functionalty. Being able to see where our devices are on a map is a cool thing to see. The power that comes with pushing out Powershell scripts is super handy in our environment. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** I don't care for the column headers you get after creating smart groups. I would like to see the same headers you get when viewing All Devices. Some of the application persistence needs a little attention. We use Sophos XDR and although the dashboard reflects all of our devices are protected with Anti-Malware, Application Health shows all Sophos clients are unhealthy. I would really love to have visibility into the SSID our devices are connected to when out of the office **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have a strict corporate travel policy. Vacationing users are asked not to bring their corporate device(s) with them. When they do, we had no control over the use of the device while traveling abroad. With Absolute geofencing, we can track that device, display a full screen message reiterating the corporate travel policy and freeze the device until they return to the confines of our preset geofence. ### 14. This ensures that if we freeze a stolen or lost asset, it will stay that way even if the OS is wiped and reloaded. The geolocation and geofencing works really well and helps us set perimeters on computers to further enhance security. The application resilience is awesome and helps us understand the health of our key management and security agents such as SCCM, VPN, Anti-virus, DLP, Qualys, etc. The remote file delete, and device wipe is something we have been using for a while and it is quite useful. I also love the option to send a message to a user for something else, for example when we cannot reach them and need to make contact with them with regards to their computer compliance. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** I find the role based access control (RBAC) quite limited when we want to limit users to only certain collections of computers. This would might be a bigger issue for a larger company where they want to segregate areas or countries. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Absolute helped us secure our computers to ensure we can track, lock and wipe them when they go missing or are stolen. The added benifits of application resilience really helps us track the health of our other key applications and agents on the device and help us report and / or repair a lot of these types of agents. The other bad issue found is that when you try to resolve a event viewer report regarding an absolute application the engineer try to find more infor about it and no info found in google or bing as well so you have to basically email absolute support . **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Allow you to locate on the fly all the applications that are loaded on the end user and so you can later manippulate or control or customize the access for that application ### 28. It has reporting capabilities, but directly patching and assist in maintaining compliance is an area the product could benefit from. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Through custom workflows built in Cortex, we have unique patching configured to hit the most critical endpoints. WSUS was not user friendly and was a beast to maintain, Syxsense has been able to offer a lot of time savings in the ability to automate these processes. ### 29. Very accurate and keeps a history of where the device has been. Since laptops tend to grow feet and walk away, it's been helpful to keep track where the equipment is at all times. And when needed, we can freeze or wipe the device should anything happen with the employee or device itself. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** I'm currently using a software deployment tool called Immy to help push our Absolute to devices. Immy is capable of verifying that the deployed software (Adobe Reader, Zoom, etc.) has been installed successfully. But Absolute is a silent agent ... it doesn't show up in Windows at all, not in the programs list, the registry, etc. So Immy can't truly tell if it was successful or not. The only ways to tell if it worked is if you log into the Absolute portal and the device shows up there. There has been a few times the device has NOT showed up in the portal so that's been fun to troubleshooting. Absolute does have a tool you can run on the device itself to run some CLI commands but I've had mixed results with it. Not very intuitive. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We didn't have a way to track laptops or wipe them remotely. We talked about MDM solutions but the tracking on them were very weak and in lots of cases, someone can bypass the MDM solution by just simply reinstalling Windows or swapping out the hard drive. With Absolute, it ties into the BIOS so if they replace the hard drive or reinstall Windows, Absolute will reinstall itself (self-heal) and I'll still have access to it from the Absolute portal. ### 49. If I had to pick 1 thing, I guess it would be the "a la carte" pricing on our device licenses.
