The ability to remote into a system, send software updates, patch management, and system information are the top tasks I use. The remote feature is great and easy to use. The software patching works great and sends an email once complete. You can reboot a machine. And last, I enjoy having access to the system information - IP Address, Installed applications, etc. - without having to ask the user to provide this information. Works great! **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** . The biggest issue I have seen is the freezing of remote access. I have found that it locks up the system and I am unable to reconnect. I have seen this occur for multiple reasons including poor internet connections. But, when it is working great, it is wonderful. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Syxsense solves the issue of us keeping our machines up to date without having to manually touch each machine. It is a great support tool. Also, I have had issues where a user is missing something critical on their machine. Building a package is rather easy as well. They also have support options available to assist. But, once the package is in the system, it only takes a matter of minutes to successfully push this to a machine and have it fully installed. There is also an option to reboot or not reboot the machine depending on the situation. ### 4. My company still has most employees coming into the office but we have some who work from home more often than others. The data risk assessment allows me to view devices with PII stored locally and delete the data as needed. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** The only thing I did not like was the lack of deep-dive training. I cannot blame the company as it is not their fault since I was not here for the implementation of the product. However, I think updating their training webinars and getting into more detail about capability and how-to's would be very valuable to their customers. **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** As with any product/service, try to utilize training hours to the best of your ability. One of them is remote control of endpoints. It works, but it's typically slow and low resolution. We use it as our backup to our primary remote control software. The other one is reporting of which user is assigned to or logged into which asset. It typically doesn't work (at least not well, lots of names missing) and Syxsense acknowledges this. We wish this worked much better than it currently does. **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** If you're looking for a patch management solution, I'd highly recommend it. Just know that that's what it is and that the other things they offer may not be as robustly developed or supported as the core functionality. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problems our company solves with Syxsense is patch management. Instead of relying on Microsoft's SCCM solution which can only handle Microsoft products, we use Syxsense to manage not only that but also third-party application patching. ### 22. Sometimes finding the agent for installation can be a multiple-step process. It would be nice if there was a quick link from the devices page to add a new agent. Currently it is multiple clicks to get to where the agent can be downloaded. **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** If you are looking for automatic asset management tools, Absolute will take of all your needs. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We utilize Absolute for our asset management and inventory. As it automatically scans the device for software and hardware, we no longer have to manually track who has what and where it is located. Since we are 100% working from home office, we need the tools to keep us informed of what is currently installed on each computer. We also use the app to generate a report so we are alerted when a user has stopped using their corporate machine. Users often would rather use their own devices for many different reasons, but that is against our corporate policy. From an asset management perspective, this has been invaluable. The location and location logs, utilizing multiple location methods, reallygives us a good idea where our devices are. The software inventory with dates of installation helps us determine what may have been put on when, and allows to track down when non-business things are being put on devices. Calling home via the internet is great, as we almost always can locate the devices with the exception of when they are locked up and powered away. The ability to send Powershell commands/scripts was huge for us to get users set up properly for a work from the home situation during the pandemic. We were able to do so much, from fixing SCCM clients to pushing out software or updates, changing licensing from KMS to MAK for Office and Windows, setting up NTP to a internet source. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** I wish there were an easier way to get the contents of specific screens into an exported CSV/TXT file for use in other places (scripts, spreadsheets, etc). I also wish it had some sort of "cloud storage" for some exports of powershell such as log files to be returned, so it could be accessible without us having to host something. **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** We've been using the product for quite a long time... it has gotten better as it has aged, and support has been good. We are increasing its footprint from Mobile devices to all devices in the next 4 year cycle. The data that is available has allowed us to see what computers have on them such as software and versions, as well as how they are being used. They have a good amount of pre-canned reports, but your ability to create your own reports is non-existent. For example I wanted to create a report that shows how often people are using their computers, unlocks, logins, etc. All data is that shown within the UI. However after talking with our rep. I was told the only way to get this into a report would be to request it so that it could be created by their developers. **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** While the software is great, sometimes getting data out of it can be difficult. I have submitted a couple of tickets to them requesting that the Reporting aspect of the tool be made better. They have a few canned reports that you can create/export, but do not have the ability to create your own. To have a new report created requires them programming it on their end. So be prepared that if you want reports created based off Absolute data, it may have to be done manually. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Endpoint tracking. These automation processes help to save time and we know it helps to save money. The patch management system with the ability to find vulnerabilities is state-of-the-art. Syxsense acts on the two main security fronts: fixing software and finding pre-existing vulnerabilities inherent to the patch. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** Inventory reports are not on par with the rest of the software. They are just a handful and contain little information such as: Most used software (time of use), license control, geographic location, software whitelist and blacklist, inadequate machines (stations that are always performing at their maximum can be an indication of stations that need improvement and adaptation) and ability to customize / create new reports from the queries **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Software updates and patches were disorganized and often did not cover all of the third-party software. So Syxsense was essential in helping to create a compliance plan on updates to operating systems and third-party software in addition of course to tools like remote access and remote PowerShell that help IT to have more efficient processes and deliver IT compliance, patch and fulfill requests more efficiently in record time. ### 42. All of these have been very convenient. When troubleshooting an issue, the ability to find some system information without depending on the user is very valuable. This cuts down on the time needed for research and allows more time to address the issue. Also, the ability to transfer a file to the machine is wonderful and also assists with the ability to properly troubleshoot. I previously used Microsoft InTune which was not as user friendly. SyxSense has created a more user friendly compatible application that works well for our business. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** I worked with G2 when there were a few issues with our software. The remote feature would stop working while providing support. I was able to work with the support team on a resolution. We found another issue arise where our inventory was duplicated. Once again, their support department worked with us to create a script that removed the duplicates and allowed a more clean environment. **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** I would definitely recommend this product. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We have been able to patch all of our machines properly. Also, the ability to connect to a user's machine without a security prompt is terrific. Some of the capabilities that I have also used are: Sending a message to the machine to notify the user of an update before restarting the device, Rebooting a machine that has pending updates remotely without interaction from the user, and last, the ability to find information network information remotely without disturbing the user was terrific. This came in handy when troubleshooting network or connection issues on any of our machines. I find this feature extremely useful. ### 43. We are able to answer questions such as; who is signed into the device, how much is it getting used, who else uses it, where is the device? It's huge for us to be able to show this information to our divisions. We also use it for theft, lost, and stolen devices. In a couple of clicks, we can lock a device down or even wipe its hard drive in dire cases.
