The UI makes it difficult to know what is a button, what is a title, what is a column header, what is editable, etc. Some of the features also work for a while, then break. Provides very detailed information regarding what applications are executed/installed on a system if you have the additional licensing tier for additional security features and reports **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** The only negative I can think of is the deployment documentation using your preferred MDM solution is abysmal. Zero documentation on how to deploy using Intune, Jamf or any other industry standard MDM solutions. We have been on our own, and Intune deployment was a breeze, but we have had more than our fair share of issues deploying this to our MacOS fleet via JAMF. We still do not currently have a solution, and we have not had any meaningful interactions with support, other than 'we do not support with MDM deployment'. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We needed the ability to lock down workstations remotely, and securely. Other products were able to log users out, but not keep them logged out. This was due to our fleet being Azure AD joined instead of on prem domain joined; not many solutions support AAD and lock out functionalty. In testing and using the website, it is simple to wipe devices if needed and get a status for each device. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** It would be nice if my company had paid for some of the other modules to get more information from the devices if possible. Being able to click on the device and view a fully detailed view of the device and the patches available for it saves so much time for us as in IT department. Another pro is the ability to schedule patch installations to avoid downtime during the day. The report feature is also very useful for auditing and tracing purposes. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** Sometimes the admin portal can be slow, but overall it doesn't make too much of an impact on my use of the product. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** It is an easy and quick way of conducting patch management and saves me time by giving me a central place to complete patching of our servers. One of them is remote control of endpoints. It works, but it's typically slow and low resolution. We use it as our backup to our primary remote control software. The other one is reporting of which user is assigned to or logged into which asset. It typically doesn't work (at least not well, lots of names missing) and Syxsense acknowledges this. We wish this worked much better than it currently does. **Recommendations to others considering Absolute Secure Endpoint:** If you're looking for a patch management solution, I'd highly recommend it. Just know that that's what it is and that the other things they offer may not be as robustly developed or supported as the core functionality. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problems our company solves with Syxsense is patch management. I feel like while lots of laptop developers are accomodating Linux users, quite a few SaaS platforms do not support industry-standard Linux distributions. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** We were evaluating Absolute as a physical security solution to integrate with our existing IT solutions as, with COVID, more and more folks are working remotely, in addition to folks that were already remote. Our folks do a lot of business travel, and, to be honest, FileVault and Bitlocker aren't enough. With the ability to track the locations of our devices and remotely wipe their data, Absolute seemed like a great solution. ### 39. It gives our organization peace of mind that sensitive data will not fall into the wrong hands. Additionally, Absolute provides detailed hardware information about a particular device, and even provides information about what software is installed. It is extremely useful as a "One Stop Shop." The report feature is quick and easy, as well. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** The search feature could be better. When looking at an asset, the search does not always work, and a user may need to go back to the dashboard to complete their search. The new, upgraded UI has taken some getting used to, specifically when looking for the most recent date a device connected, and I don't feel that it, generally, made the product better, though I can't say it has affected my ability to use the product. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** While it's not necessarily Absolute's number one use, it is easiest way to our organization has to find out which of our users are using which PC, and when they most recently signed on. It is not expressly used for asset tracking, but it can be used in a pinch, and can fill in any gaps our normal asset tracking software might have missed. ### 42. A client had some DR laptops mysteriously disappear from their off-site storage and for almost a year we saw no activity in the Absolute console, until one day one of the machines checked in. We were able to take a look at the folder structure & files to see that whoever had it had wiped the OS and reinstalled Windows, but had copied some of their work data onto it, and from there, in conjunction with tracing their IP, we were able to figure out who took them. It turned out that the person had taken all the missing laptops, and we were able to recover them all, and were able to go through internal HR channels to do it, without getting law enforcement involved. **What do you dislike about Absolute Secure Endpoint?** The Absolute dashboard is a little primitive, but it gets the job done. I wish there were some more integrated scripts that allowed the uploading of device data to an FTP site of our choosing. It's possible to script that out, but it's not elegant and can also tip off the person in possession of the device that the transfers may be occurring. **What problems is Absolute Secure Endpoint solving and how is that benefiting you?** Our client has been able to recover missing assets, and that is a huge benefit as the cost of the devices far, far exceeded the entire sum of the absolute service for ALL devices that were registered. ### 50.
